7 – The Super Soldier’s Skill

Ciara's sword glowed white. She blitzed at the monster using her boost devices that worked like propulsor and swung her weapon. However, that creature back away to avoid the super soldier's attack.

A fierce fight ensued. Ciara tries to beat her enemy by continuing to blitz or jumping high to attack. But the mantis monster could always dodge, occasionally blocking the woman's thrusts and slashes.

"Damn." Bonnie tried to aim at the monster, but she was having a hard time due to the high speed of the fight. "I've never seen anything like this…. No! Ciara!"

The monster's scythe arm hit the super soldier, causing her body to dive and hit a car hard. The impact made a sizeable dent in that vehicle.

A blue bar with the [Energy shield] sign appears above her head, and it decreases. I knew right away. If the bar was depleted, Ciara was screwed.

The monster was about to attack Ciara again, but it had to dodge Bonnie's shot this time. So Ciara has a chance to get up, jump, and attack again.

Unfortunately, her series of sword swings still couldn't injure her enemy and only hit one of the pillars. The roots in that thing got chopped up and smoked.

Wait. Those roots don't immediately regenerate after being hit by Ciara's weapon. They need more time to grow again.

This means that the sword will be very effective in opening a way of escape for us.

"We have to do something, Axel." Bonnie hissed as the monster managed to hit Ciara again, sending that girl landing hard on the ground.

And then, the super soldier received a series of slashes from the enemy and was barely able to escape. Her energy shield has decreased significantly.

I can also see that she is starting to run out of breath. This can't go on forever.

I recalled the behavior of that monster in Project Axiom. If I'm not mistaken, that monster only moves using its instincts and doesn't have high intelligence. It does makes that creature's movements unpredictable, but it should also be a big drawback.

Hearing the sound of Ciara's body crashing into the wall, I thought harder. My eyes scan the surroundings, looking for objects or something that can be used to reverse this situation.

And finally, I found the gap between the two largest military vehicles here. It can barely accommodate Ciara's slender body.

"Bonnie, follow me." I hovered over to that place and spoke to Ciara through the communication device in her ear. "Listen to me carefully, Ciara."

I quickly explained my plan to my two comrades while on standby between the two vehicles.

Those two girls answered simultaneously. "Roger that!"

Bonnie knelt, aiming at the gap between the vehicles while Ciara was no longer attacking her enemy. She did a series of blitzes to that vehicles instead.

However, the monster was faster than Ciara. It's getting closer to that girl. Looks like the super soldier's stamina has been drained.

The girl's energy shield has run out. One slash from the enemy will be fatal to her.

"Come on, Ciara!" I cheer her on.

I bet it all on this gamble.

The super soldier jumped into the gap and lay down on her stomach, while the monster didn't have time to maneuver, so it got stuck in the gap. Bonnie didn't waste the chance and shot the monster several times, sending it staggering backward.

"Keep going, Bonnie!" I shouted when the armored girl stopped shooting. "We'll have to give it lots of shots to kill it!"

"This damn rifle is also jammed." Bonnie kept trying to press the trigger, but it was stuck.

Ciara got up, jumped from that gap, then gave a series of slashes to the monster. White viscous liquid spurted out along with the falling pieces of that creature's body.

Bonnie and I fell silent while Ciara caught her breath. The super soldier's body was covered in sweat mixed with the 'blood' of the monster.

"You did it!" Bonnie jumped for joy. She ran and hugged Ciara. "I thought your thick booty and boobs would keep you from getting in that gap!"

"I'm not alone in doing this." Ciara grimaced because Bonnie was hugging her a little too hard. "You guys helped me to defeat this monster."

"But there's no denying it, you're amazing." I went to the super soldier. "Hey, Bonnie. You can kill her."

"Sorry." The armored girl released her hug. Her voice trembled. "It's just…. This monster killed all my friends, you know?"

"I'm really glad I could help you then." Ciara gave Bonnie her signature smile.

"I know how you feel, but we must get out of here fast…." I hadn't finished speaking when many buzzing sounds appeared from various directions.

What? They could gather in this much? Sh*t. In Project Axiom that I used to play, the mantis monster was solitary or at least lived alone with its boss.

"Come on!" I lead the two girls to come to the gate.

"This gate is quite thick." Arriving at that place, Ciara raised her sword high. "I need some time to concentrate energy on my sword."

"Please hurry!" Bonnie shrieked as red mantis monsters emerged from the hallway. "We can't wait any longer!"

Ciara took a deep breath and concentrated on the gate while Bonnie started shooting those monsters using her machine gun.
