Today was Akira's first day of school. Even though he's six, and has been for a while, this is his first day. I didn't think I would be, but it actually made me quite emotional. The school that Akira is attending, is among the first on the moon. Artemis East is one of the first schools ever built on the moon. An entire apartment block was evacuated, and then reconstructed to make it fit for the purpose of being a school building. There aren't many pupils right now, but in the future, there will surely be many more. Now that the future of the moon has been secured.

There's a lot of other examples of things we've never had on the moon now rising up into being, here in Artemis. A Parliament, hospitals, police stations and officers… the moon is changing. The tram system is being revamped to make it, well, actually usable. Basic amenities that were missing in some of the outer settlements are being introduced, there's now phone reception in almost every settlement.

And that's all just here on the moon. The Earth is changing too. I think many people underestimated just how huge of a change, having a nation on the moon is. The world is being forced to follow our lead, or rather, my lead. The Helium-3 that Artemis Energy, a now state-owned company, has exclusive rights to on the moon, has made us incredibly powerful. It is the ultimate card to play in negotiations. Any nation that refuses to accept any actions I take, simply has their helium supply cut until they roll over.

And thanks to the deal I made with the United States, the Project Gaia Foundation was created, which has given me access and power all over the Earth. The Foundation is the vessel through which I force the nation-states and corporations of Earth to do as I bid them. All for the cost of ten thousand American colonists on Mars. A bargain.

So, with the actions I took, the world will now move in the right direction. It will, even if I have to force it. From now on, the nations of Earth will work together to create a better world. Demilitarisation, population redistribution and depopulation, halting global warming, and sustainable resource use, will all now be worked on together by the people of the Earth, under the leadership of the Project Gaia Foundation. In other words, as I dictate.

Of those who do know, however, of the actions I took, most disapprove. Of course, there aren't many that do know. The leaders of the world, in business or politics, unanimously agree that it's best that the fact that they surrendered to a 'madman who threatened to kill fifteen million people', not be known. Especially when that madman controls the energy supply of the world. But it was necessary. Everything I did, I only did because it was necessary. Because of the actions I took, the world is finally moving in the right direction. If I hadn't plotted, deceived, gambled, and swindled, my way to this point, the world would still be in trouble. I understand that I haven't magically and instantaneously fixed all the issues of the world, but now that the world is moving in the right direction, it will be better. Maybe only marginally at first, but it will become better. A better world. A nicer world.

Despite all the power that I have amassed, I still haven't been able to find Aria. Perhaps that means she is dead. She must be very well hidden, if she is still alive, for me to not be able to find her with all the resources that are now at my disposal. Wherever Aria is, whether she is still in this world or another, I'm sure she will be proud and happy, that our dream is so close to completion now. Now that the world is moving in the right direction, we are almost there. The dream from twenty...two years ago. The dream that the two of us shared of a better and nicer world. It's now within reach. And I promise that I won't rest, until it's achieved.
