11. Rare Boar...

I decide to carry the hog and flower with me back to the town. Upon arriving at the entrance, I was immediately stopped and investigated since I, a small boy, was carrying a beast about 1.5 times the size of me inside the city. Well, I thought that was the reason at the time...

"I-Impossible! That b-boy... Isn't he carrying a white stripe boar!?"

Boar? Oh, I thought it was a hog...

"Your r-right... Call the guild! Something might have happened outside the gates!"

The guards who were at the gate were running in a panic when they stopped me. The guild is 24/7, so I have the time, or not... If I want my plan to work, I need as much time as possible, so I have to go!

"Umm... Can I please leave? I need to report my quest to the guild."

"Huh?! You were to hunt a boar at your age!? Don't tell m-me that a kid as young as you are C or B rank?!"

"? No, I'm only a beginner."

"!"

The guard who was speaking with me almost fell to the ground. He stared at me with a horrific expression. "L-Lies! A beginner couldn't have been unscathed or live in that matter of fact when they are against a white stripe boar!"

I don't know what is wrong with this? I mean, are boars high levels? I thought they were basic level monsters, like slimes or goblins. As I ponder in thought, some other guards came in with a woman.

The woman looks to be in her twenties and has a long white dress with long golden hair. She wore glasses and holds some clipboard. The aroma around her feels severe and makes her look like an important figure.

She walks up to me and looks at the boar I was holding.

"Excuse me, where did you get this?"

She speaks in a soft tone, probably because I am a child.

"I got it at the East lake while I was doing a quest that had me locate a blooming Corpse Flower. After securing one, this boar jumped out of a bush and tried to attack me. Luckily, I defeated it within a minute. I decided to bring it back with me for dinner since I haven't had any food all day today."

The girl's eyes go wide, along with everyone else in the room. Some were surprised by the fact that a 4-year-old talked properly, while others were surprised by my story.

"Huh?! Do you mean the guild accepted someone as young as you? That breaks the kings... Don't tell me. Are your parents sane?! They will be put in prison for letting a child go into the guild!"

"Umm... Sorry, but my parents passed away while we were traveling to this town. As a matter of fact, the guild didn't accept me and banned me until they figure out that my story was true."

"Huh?! Oh my, I apologize. Sorry for talking about a depressing subject."

"It's fine. I have already talked about it many times today. Anyway, may I go to the guild now?"

"I'm sorry, but can I examine the boar before you leave?"

"Uh... sure?"

The girl touches the board while looking at her clipboard. After a minute, she holds out her hand right above the boar and softly speaks.

"[Scan]"

As she says this, a circle appears with unknown and complex symbols on it. The circle has two inner rings spinning at different velocities.

After a minute, her eyes widen.

"T-this is..."

"?"

"Umm... Boy, who are you?"

"Huh?"

"It just doesn't make sense!"

Your the one who isn't making sense!

"How did a little boy defeat B(-) class boar?!"

"Huh?! Wait! Does that mean this boar is in within B rank!?" (Guard)

"I-it has to be lies! Maybe your magic failed? Yeah! That must be it." (Another Guard)

"Huh, fail? Her magic never fails! It must be true, but how did the boy kill it? (Another Guard)

"Okay, everyone shut up!" (The Woman)

The female made all the talkative guards silent.

"It is true. This boar is rank B(-) and is a superior-type beast. I heard white-stripe boars were rare and strong, but it seems they are powerful. Still, how did you manage to kill it?"

"Umm... I stabbed it with a sharp rock?"

"Impossible! It wouldn't have died by a mere rock. It would help if you had a B or B(+) minium to take on this level of a beast. A mere rock wouldn't even damage it! Spill it, what did you do?"

"I-I'm telling the truth!"

"Hmm..."

She stares at me for a moment and then retreats.

"Fine, I'll leave you alone for now, but it would be trouble if you carry this boar all the way to the guild. Let me purchase it from you. How does... 31,250 zen sound?"

Five golden coins, huh. I don't know if that is good, but it is something. After getting my reward, I'll have 17 gold coins. Hopefully, that is enough for my plans and some food...

"Sure. Thanks for purchasing my boar."

"Hehe, the pleasure is all mine..."

After we swapped our stuff, I left her and headed straight to the guild. Approximately 1 hour has passed since I started this quest.

"Yawn!"

I need to hurry and finish this quest and find an inn. Hopefully, one is open at this hour...
