Ella looked at her cousin with stars in her eyes. Finally, he's back.

He has been missing for so long. Ever since the two elders had died, he disappeared.

The will of the elders did not mention the need for presence to inherit the wealth.

So, Allen got his share of the Xi Corporation without being in the hearing. After all, Alina dressed up as Allen due to her grandparents wishes, so they wouldn't be foolish enough to make things difficult for her.

Ella missed him greatly. He would always protect her like mother hen protects her chicks, even though he was annoying with his geeky knowledge.

But, just like today, he has always protected and supported her. Allen was her guardian angel and she wouldn't trade him for golds, forget about golds not even diamonds.

Diamonds were valuable right? Ella secretly thought. But her eyes dimmed when she realised, what if he thinks she was like those women?

Not that she had anything against them, after all everyone had their sacrifices and compromises.

But she came from a well off family and she doesn't need to make a sacrifice or compromise...

No one believed her when she denied those false accusations, they all pointed fingers at her, jeering at her fallen state.

But he was the only one who stood up for her; he was her knight in shining armour. So he did believe her, Right?

She looked meekly at him " Lil' Cousin Th... Thank you"

Seeing Allen not saying anything but gently smiling at her, she felt secure as if her insecurities were all for naught.

Hence she forgot all those mortifying incidents from awhile ago.

She had sudden boost of confidence, this was her cousin, so she asked him what has been preoccupying her mind "Lil' cousin, would they harass me again?"

Allen didn't know what to do, she was really a spontaneous child, sparking like a fire at one point but suddenly extinguishing and then suddenly lighting up again.

With an amused expression he slowly replied to her.

"vicarious punishment"

Ella had a dumbstruck expression, this cousin doesn't he knew how to speak English, why did she feel like he was talking alien language. She just asked him something and he replied with something else.

And you wonder why he wasn't so likable, but she will forgive him for saving her. Humph.

"Wha??! Can't you talk in normal human language for once?"

Her reply amused Allen so he started laughing, not holding back his amusement. His laughter deafened her senses as her heart pounded rapidly.

It was such a silky mellow sound as if he was the only one with such a carefree laughter. She has never seen him so carefree and lovable.

Ah her heart, Ella secretly pinched her self, she did not want lose her composure in front him.

'Some crushes really crush you.' Ella thought.

"Hahaha, apologies, I thought you are doing Psychology so you should know. Little tinker, do you ever study? If uncle heard you, he would have a disappointed expression"

Allen laughed at his cousin for her lack of knowledge, this girl was really hopeless.

Not that he should laugh at her but this little thing was out of this world. He gently rubbed her head as if pacifying her as she was pouting at him.

Ella was feeling embarrassed, this cousin was always so mean, just because he was little smarter than her! Humph.

Looking at her embarrassed face, Allen couldn't help but become gentle.

"Since big brother is nice and handsome, I will tell you the meaning. Vicarious punishment refers to a decrease in the frequency of certain behaviours as a result of seeing others punished for the same actions. So big brother punishment for the bad woman messing with you would create fear in others, and they won't mess with you again, okay?"

He gently explained to her as if he was explaining to a kindergarten student.

But what's even more amusing was that, Ella was acting like a kindergarten student, nodding her head as if she understood him but also mumbling to herself 'since when did this cousin of mine turn into a narcissist?' smh

Seeing her like this, Allen couldn't help but feel sorry for her so he slowly and gently coaxed her. After all she was....never mind.

"Little Ella, be careful who you are friends with, there are lot of snakes"

His voice was gentle but with a hint of flirt, Ella's heart palpated rapidly, she was just trying to insert that information and not lose her focus, but here he was behaving like this.

She really wanted to cry, her mind was really not functioning well, and this guy was really an incubus.

This cousin was too handsome; she couldn't cope with this anymore.

She really wanted to marry him, it's not like they were biologically related so it should be fine, Right? This seducer should be hers.

See this you nasty people, she was already in love with an absolutely enchanting man. Why would she go seduce an old man?

Ella still held grudges against those women and did not feel sorry for Madam Feng whatsoever.

If her cousin wasn't there, she would have been finished with no return.

As she thought of those unnecessary thoughts, her eyes expressed a confused look, since she didn't even understand what he said to her.

So, she looked confused why would she need to be careful. Eh? Who could harm her?

This stupid girl.

Looking at the confused little girl, Allen was speechless. He really wanted to roll his eyes at her; this little girl was really hopeless, was her head really filled with air?

She didn't know who her real friends were and who were her fake friends? Looks like he needs to keep an eye on her or build a minion for her. Hmm seems like an idea.

Ella looked at him shyly "Cousin..."

"Little one, it's professor Xi, I thought you didn't want anyone to know we were related"

He chuckled changing his tactics since she didn't pay much attention to his words anyways, this girl was really something.
