Chapter 3: Can You Level Up While Eating?

Roarrrr!!!!!!!!!!

' It seems the wild beasts have woken up, and the demons in their night seclusion have come out '

The roar made everyone tense and fearful, except Ye Yang who had changed out of his clothing and began sitting on the cave floor coldly.

He knew that Albatraz Island had a hidden secret, but also that no players know or have ever discovered the secret.

Sigh*

' If I want to leave this Island, than I would have to build a ship, and enough good luck when sailing. It's either dying in Albatraz Island, or die trying to sail the sea, by lack of pure water, food, or by the monsters that are likely to devour me. Troublesome! '

Althought he had a strong golden finger[1], Ye Yang realized he could not be careless.

' If I'm careless here, I'm sure to die '

-----

Some time later , another roar could be heard with earthquaking vibration, but it wasn't different from the previous one. After another roar was heard once again presumably from the same creature, there wasn't anymore roaring.

' This... is just the first day ' Ye Yang was optimistic of his day.

-------

' Why couldn't I have slept? was it due to my mood? fear? or is my mind too vigilant? '

On that day, Ye Yang didn't sleep, nor did he eat the grilled fish that had been given to him, and it was now dawn.

However, there were no morning light in caves, but the people still woke up and went out. Couple minutes later, they came back and shouted at the people to most likely go back hunting/fishing.

Ye Yang followed the group of indigenous people that were going, and left the cave.

Immediately after walking outside the cave, Ye Yang was hit with the blinding rays of the sun.

' It's so bright, and I didn't even get any sleep '

Indeed, not sleeping had caused him to be slightly sleepy and fatigued, but perhaps because of the leveling up, Ye Yang's mind and body better able to handle the night without sleeping.

Continuing off to the beach, Ye Yang's sleepyness and fatigue slowly drained drained away until he felt ready to begin fishing.

When they had arrived, one of the indigenous people who was a kid by the looks of it, gave him a harpoon made from a strong and firm stick attached to a really sharp rock.

' This is way better than my previous one '

" Thank you " Ye Yang thanked him, and the kid smiled understanding what he had meant.

" At present, I'm only level three, and if I want to reach level four I'll need to kill four-hundred fish. The task is difficult, but..I have enough time "

Ye Yang was talking to himself, because he wasn't strong enough to survive going into the Alcatraz Island forest, his only option was to bully the marine fish population so that he can gain experience points and advance his strength.

Puff*

When Ye Yang was busy thinking in his head, he felt a fish swimming by him and quickly pierced his ' harpoon ' through it.

The kid next to him, after seeing the scene couldn't help bit show an expression filled with surprise. Than the kid turned to him, and began speaking. Although Ye Yang didn't understand what he had said, he knew they were praising him.

From that king if praise, Ye Yang wasn't too cheeky to accept. Throwing the fish aside, he began using gestures to communicate with him. The general meaning he was trying to convey was ' Don't go fishing with me, and just wait over on the shore '.

After a long time of trying to convey his intent, they finally understood. It must be said that gestures weren't as effective as talking.

' I really wish I can remember which privilege allows the understanding of all languages, but I can't remember which privilege it was ' Ye Yang thought.

He remembered the privilege post, but people had assumed the languages were common. However, it required a lot of things, such as some copies that contained old tips, and even the choice of nine lives. The red fruit[1] of the people told the answers.

But it was really unpopular with it's unreasonable text, and the eventually died out. The officials even tried to tell everyone the privilege wasn't useless, but the people didn't agree.

' The privilege was useless, but here...it'll be useful ' Recovering his thoughts, Ye Yang began fishing seriously.

Two! Five! Ten! Twenty! Thirty! Fifty! One-hundred! Three-hundred! Four-hundred!

It wasn't until the day ended that he was able to kill the 400th, and level up.

The exhaustion, and fatigue he had gained slowly dispersed, and was replaced by a strong spirit.

' I finally reached level four, but I'll have to kill a thousand fish to level up. I estimate I'll be able to kill that many in three days, but if I'm lucky it might only require two days of fishing '

The experience value from level four to five was ten-thousand, instead of the eight-thousand if it were to be doubled. Meaning he had to kill a thousand fishes in the next few days, and if you were to have guessed...the fifth level's requirement wouldn't be satisfied by fishing.

Once he becomes level five, the non-graded fish wouldn't offer him anymore experience points to harvest.

Therefore, after the fifth level, continuing to fish would be pointless.

----------

The sky was already dark, and the indigenous people packed the last of the fish and Ye Yang followed them back.

---------

Back in the cave, Ye Yang was feeling a sense of incomprehensibility. This was the second day in the Island.

' When I began fishing, I don't really feel the passage of time, but now that I'm sitting in a cave, I think I like the day better than the night '

It seemed his heart was caught in a net, and the taste was hard to bear.

The temperature was warm, and some indigenous women where grilling the food. Perhaps because of Ye Yang's credit, even if the others don't a lot, Ye Yang's crazy way of fishing would guarantee their reserves.

Perhaps it was this reason that the indigenous people were treating him, like the way he treated them.

" Hey! Hey! "

The indigenous boy handed a grilled fish to Ye Yang. Obviously, the grilling was poor in skill, but Ye Yang took a bite anyways.

It tasted bad since it was only grilled, and there wasn't any salt or something to help it.

He looked at the indigenous people who were mostly all very thin, only a few were chubby at most, and their faces were shallow and blackish. Without some of the needed nutrition for their body like salt, you get thinner, and easier to get sick.

The fish was hard to eat, and even harder to swallow. After eating the bad tasting fish, a system notification rang out.

" Due to your honorable status, eating one fish have granted you one experience point "

Hearing the system's voice, Ye Yang was stunned for a moment.

Would this lord, eating something actually give him experience points? Do you have to be so outrageous?!

Can you actually gain experience from eating? Wouldn't that mean if one continues to eat, you can just level up without having to fight?

Although the experience points weren't multiplied by his privilege, at least he had another way of gaining experience points without having to fight monsters!

Thinking of that, Ye Yang continued to eat the grilled fish. One! Ten! Twenty! Thirty!

When he had finished eating fifty grilled fish, Ye Yang found the surrounding indigenous people looking at him in horror. They had eaten it until their stomachs were filled, yet Ye Yang's fifty was even above them!

The indigenous boy who accompanied Ye Yang couldn't help but look at him in a weird way , as if to say.

' This may be free, but to eat so much? '
