HARUNA'S USED FORK

Haruna walked away and wanted to go back to the bedroom. Her footsteps stopped when Tristan called out.

"Wait!"

"What else?" Haruna asked in an annoyed tone.

"I suspect that you added poison in this spaghetti. Taste it before you go!"

"What? You've been sitting watching me cook all this time. When will I have a chance to add poison?" The girl was getting annoyed.

Tristan didn't want to listen to Haruna's explanation. Haruna took the fork from Tristan's hand roughly. She took the spaghetti with the fork. After chewing and swallowing the spaghetti in front of Tristan, Haruna put the fork on the table.

Haruna put the used fork down while pounding the table with a face full of emotion.

Plak!

Tristan paid no heed to Haruna's anger. He took the fork of Haruna's lips. Wearing it to pick up spaghetti and smiling contentedly.

"Satisfied? Have you seen it? Nothing happened to me. It means that there is no poison in this spaghetti," said Haruna.

"I know. I just want to use your lip fork. It tastes better." Tristan teased Haruna.

Haruna was silent for a moment then walked away annoyed. She went into the bedroom and locked the door. Her eyes glanced at the clock on the wall. It's eleven o'clock at night, but she misses Kiara.

"Have she slept yet?" Haruna mumbled softly.

She lay on the bed and looked around. The room she occupied was three times the area of Haruna's room at Kamal's house. Haruna couldn't close her eyes. The room felt foreign and cold to Haruna. She's used to living in a simple house warmed by love and togetherness. Unlike the big house that is not filled with affection and only occupied by cold and annoying men like Tristan.

After finishing the spaghetti on the plate, Tristan came into the room. At first, he wanted to prank Haruna, but he failed. Haruna's spaghetti was so delicious, she had to eat and finish it. He exercises before bed. Tristan takes care of his appearance and health. He did a few push-ups and sit-ups then cleaned himself up and went to sleep.

***

In the morning, Christian comes to visit Haruna's house. On the way, he bought a bunch of white roses and a box of premium chocolates. With a big smile, Chris resumed driving his car to Haruna's house. It only took ten minutes from the flower shop and Chris arrived in front of Haruna's house.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Anggi walked languidly towards the door. Usually, she is already struggling with kitchen utensils at eight o'clock in the morning but today Anggi hasn't even done anything. She stayed up all night thinking about her daughter. Chris stood in the doorway straightening his tie. Flowers and chocolates carried on the other hand. Not long after, the door opened.

"Good morning," said Chris.

"Good morning. Who are you? Who do you want to find?" Anggi looked at the man with a frown.

"Good morning Auntie. My name is Christian. I'm a friend of Haruna," Chris replied, holding out his hand.

Anggi looks at Christian's face carefully. She returned the man's outstretched hand as she answered. "I'm Anggi, Haruna's mother."

"Nice to meet you Mrs. Anggi. Is Haruna awake? I want to see her." Christian reveals the purpose of coming there.

"Haruna she ..." Anggi was sad and her tears rolled back smoothly on the two planes without powder. Anggi could not hide her sadness. Especially when she saw Christian carrying flowers and chocolates. Anggi would feel happy if only Haruna was at home. Christian is a nice and polite man. The thing that the woman had always dreamed of, was seeing a man bring flowers to her daughter.

When her dream comes true, Haruna is not at home. Christian is confused by Anggi's attitude because suddenly the woman cries when he asks where Haruna is. In the silence between Chris and Anggi, Vivi came carrying Kiara.

"What's wrong with Haruna, Aunt?"

"Haruna was taken away by force. I can't protect Haruna," said Anggi. She then left Christian. The man was accompanied by Vivi and Kiara.

Christian still doesn't understand what Anggi is saying.

"What does your mother mean, Vi? Who was Haruna taken away by?"

"Our family owes as much as 2 billion rupiahs. Sis Haruna was taken by someone who gave a loan to my Dad. My sister was used as collateral so that my Daddy immediately paid off the debt," replied Vivi. The girl told him everything that happened last night.

"Take it where? I will bring Haruna back," said Chris. For him, 2 billion is not a problem. For Haruna's sake, he didn't care about the money.

"Tristan Izham Putra, he was the one who took Sis Haruna away."

Deg!

Christian is suddenly taken aback. The name was familiar to him, but Chris couldn't understand why Tristan would do such a thing. Why did Tristan take Haruna away just because of money? Why did Tristan lend that much money to Haruna's family? Haruna's family doesn't look like a wasteful family. So why did they borrow Tristan that much money? So many questions in Christian's mind. He asked again to make sure his listeners weren't in trouble.

"Tristan Izham Putra? Are you sure the name of the person who brought Haruna is that name?"

"Of course. The name is written on the agreement letter. There is even a signature from the man too. So, how could I be wrong," said Vivi firmly.

"Uncle... Please bring my Mommy to comeback. Kia misses mommy," Kiara said with a sad face.

"Please take the letter, Vi! I'll redeem Haruna and bring her home," Christian asks for proof of the letter from them.

"Wait a moment! I'll take it," Vivi said as she rushed to her room.

Vivi looks for the letter in her room. "I forgot. The letter is in mom's room." She went to his parent's room. Vivi asks them for the letter.

"Where's Mommy, Dad?"

"He's in the bathroom. What's wrong, Vi?" Kamal asked his daughter with a frown. All night, Kamal accompanied his wife who did not sleep at all. It made his head spin.

"Vivi wants to ask for the agreement letter. Christ wants to help us bring sis Haruna back." Vivi picks up the letter on the dressing table. She brings the letter to give to Christian.

Christian gives the chocolate in his hand to Kiara. The flower remained tightly gripped and was about to be given to Haruna. Chris puts the flower in the car. He drove his car away from Kamal's yard. The next destination is the brother's house. He read the name and signature written on the debt agreement paper.

"Is that you, Tristan? You still like to oppress weak people. This childish attitude is outrageous."  Christ's car drove at high speed towards Tristan's house.

Half an hour later, Christian has arrived at Tristan's gate. However, something felt odd to him. Christ felt the house was too quiet. Usually, two people are guarding the door gate and a few housekeepers do their daily chores in the front yard.
