1 Chapter 1: The beginning...

As I stand in front of this roaring crowd beside King Kai, I can't help feeling out of place. I look at Kai and he gives me his dorky smile. I can't help but feel safe. Let me tell you how this all started. A few weeks ago, I was just a normal village girl. A normal summer day in the village. I sit at the counter at my Ma and Pa's shop. Business was usually busy on days like this. I sit there at counter looking out at the village kids playing outside, having no worries and responsibilities to worry about. As I look over I see someone come in. I immediately recognized her orange hair, It was Cassandra! I jump out of my chair and hugged her. "Why haven't sent me any letters!" ,I say teasing her. She left last year to be a servant at the kingdom, following her mother's footsteps. "Haven't had much time. But I missed you so much!" ,She replied. I grab a coke out of the fridge and had it to her. It's been her favorite since we were kids. "Thanks." I look at her attire and she is wearing a beautiful striped yellow dress. She's always been fashionable. "Why did you come back?",I ask. " Didn't you hear the news?" , She asks. "No what's going on?", I ask clearly puzzled. "Lord, you must live under a rock. Well let me tell you. The king has been assassinated...",She explained. "So now the prince has to take the crown but, in order for him to do that he has to have a bride. So the guards are choosing one girl between 16-21 from each village.", She continued. "I feel bad for those poor girls taken from their family...",I say sadly. "Nova..", She said sadly. "What..?", I ask puzzled again. "The guards are here looking for girls...", She admits. I stand there worried heart about to beat out of my chest. "There are only a few girls here that fit that role..." I say. This village was a small place where everyone knew each other. As I stand there looking at Cassandra's freckled face, the door flies open. We both whip our heads to face the door. It was my mom and her friend. "Mom what are you doing here?", I ask. " The King's men are here, looking for suitable women.", She explained. "So we have to get you ready, because all the young women have to participate...",She said enthusiastically. She then notices Cassandra. "My goodness is that you Cassandra? You have grown into a beautiful young woman. I'm sure your mom would be proud of you", She said as she hugged Cassandra. We all head of the store, and head to the local boutique. As we enter we see no dresses. We ask the Owner if they have anymore. "Well...there is this dress in the back I could sell to y'all",She went to go grab it from the back. She then came back with this this scarlet strapless dress, it had lace on the upper part, and diamonds butterflies on the skirt part. We then thanked her. "Good luck!" We then arrived home. I took a shower and put on my undergarments and my crinoline. My mother and Cassandra did my white locks of hair. I was never normal unlike other people with normal hair color and eye color I had long white hair down to my was down to my waist and, I had witch like eyes, One was blue and the other green. Most witches have abnormal eye colors. But I never felt any type of power within. They did my hair in this beautiful bun with a flower pendant. They did a light touch up on my face. After that, we were headed to the town square and if only then we known that would be my last time being a normal girl. This is where the real story begins.....
