2 The First Chapter

Far away in the dusky land of rivendelle a much-awaited cry was heard, the feeble cry of a newborn, the fourth and only surviving child of the crown prince of rivendelle, Sir Aleksis Kiev and his beloved lady, Maria Kiev, and they christened her Yulia, the love's child.

Sir aleksis Kiev was next in line to the throne, to succeed his childless uncle. At the age of seventeen he married his first love, the beautiful princess maria of Verera. In proposal, Aleksis wrote to maria, " O, my beloved Maria, my heart is in the possession of your soul, and longs to throb for as long as you live, bestow upon me the privilege of asking you for your hand in marriage and I shall vow to love and cherish you forever. Maria, going against her fathers wish of getting her married to the archDuke Arthur, whom she despised, engaged with Alesksis and became to be known as the lady Maria Kiev.

It was soon time for Sir kiev to ascend the thrown that rightfully belonged to him, so he had to produce an heir according to the tradition of the kingdom. One year into the marriage , Maria was with child, but failed to deliver due to a miscarriage leading to subsequent complications followed by two failed pregnancies. Aleksis had lost three of his sons and potential heirs and was in an extreme situation. But the last of Maria's pregnancies turned out to be successfull but this time she gave birth to a daughter, not a son as the kingdom had desired.

The crown prince then decided to marry Lady Jane of Camberville, the lady in waiting, to fulfill his desire of producing a male heir. He became increasingly devoted to his second wife, often exchanging letters of love and bestowing her with priceless gifts. Within a year of marriage, Jane gave birth to two healthy princes, Aleksander and Aleksei and became increasingly close to the king.

On the sorrowful night of the full moon the following year the king breathed his last leaving his legacy, and his throne to his heir King Alesksis Kiev, who under the strong influence of Lady Jane announced her the Queen of Rivendelle, overlooking his once beloved, his first wife Lady Maria kiev.
