a bunch of BS

[The next day]

Renner was in a favourable mood today as she walked with a rhythm in her step and a low inaudible hum, she sported a smile on her face, eliciting a curious gaze from her maid that was accompanying her.

It has taken a bit of work convincing the nobles than she had thought would be needed, she hadn't thought that she needed to call in the favour that her father owes her in order to have Arthur be her official knight. While everyone was curious about the idea of the witch that transported him here, about how powerful he might be and about the prospects of another continent however they weren't foolish, they thought more about the possibility of him being a spy from the neighbouring kingdoms.

Marquis Raeven was the most troublesome and most suspicious of Arthur but in the end she managed, though they don't trust him so She only managed to have him be her unofficial knight meaning he'll need to gain the nobles' trust.

Renner presented the case that she wasn't sure if he was a spy or not but the possibility of him being one was slim to none, that is because if Arthur was a spy he wouldn't be as shocked as he was seeing her, any decent spy knows how to cover their emotions but Arthur was barely able to hide his shock, not to mention why would a spy make such a loud entrance? There were several ways to infiltrate the castle all of which are far more subtle than falling from the sky and then there's his armour it didn't match any armour from the surrounding kingdoms not the Baharuth, Slane theocracy and Argland council state and not even the dragon kingdom, the only possible kingdom is the Holy Roble kingdom. That was enough to lessen the suspicion around Arthur but she went further in her explanation.

Usually when a spy enters a kingdom they will almost always to make it seem like they come from different kingdom than the one they actually come from, like for instance a spy from the Slane theocracy would make it seem like he's from the Baharuth empire to throw off people and force hostilities, there was nothing linking him to any Kingdom aside from the Holy Roble kingdom and that's only because his armour had similarity to holy knight armour of the holy kingdom but the Holy kingdom doesn't have the man power to spare considering that they have a Beastmen problem and are barely hanging on Against it, sending a holy knight wouldn't be ideal.

The dragon kingdom was in the same boat as the holy kingdom so they had no motive to send a spy and why would anyone send a spy dressed like a Holy knight when everyone knows that the Roble kingdom doesn't have the man power to spare. If it did send someone it would be to ask for help rather than spy, By the time she finished her explanation most of the nobles were already nodding in agreement with her, Although she didn't mention the fact that it would have been better to send a spy to the Slane theocracy or Baharuth empire than the Re-estize kingdom as those two probably have something worth spying for.

As she walked she rounded the corner and entered the section of the castle that was reserved for guests, she didn't need to look for what room Arthur was in as the sight of Gazeff standing near a door informed her that it was probably the room Arthur was in, she hurried her steps and quickly arrived near Gazeff.

"Good afternoon, sir Gazeff"

"Good morning princess, how may I help you?"

Gazeff gave her a respectful bow and greeted her back, Renner rolled her eyes at him, this man has been her father's personal guard for longer than she has been alive, she grew up around him infact her brothers grew up with him around so to an extent he should know the royal family far better than any noble yet he still kept that stiff attitude of his, she personally didn't care but you'd think he would be relaxed when there aren't any nobles to judge his conduct.

"Is sir Arthur awake?"

"Yes but he asked for some time to himself when I arrived an hour ago"

He answered, Gazeff figured the man needed some time to think about his situation and current location after all he was in foreign land, even if Gazeff was assigned Arthur he still wishes to respect the man's privacy.

"oh, do you not think he might be done doing whatever he was doing by now? An hour is an awfully long time."

Renner voiced hoping to have Gazeff open the door for her. She wanted to speak with Arthur, or rather, she wished to see him, but of course, she's disguised it as her wanting to discuss matters of importance.

"I believe—"

*Boom*

Gazeff, who was about to answer was interrupted by the sudden loud bang that caused the doors to be nearly blown off their hinges as they got pushed outward by the force that was released inside the room This caused Gazeff to stagger forward and Renner to move back out of caution.

"What was that"

Gazeff wasted no time and quickly pushed the doors open and rushed into the room, once he entered he was greeted by scattered furniture and broken cups and utensils on the floor, the flower pot laid in a pool of water as it was broken and the flowers were Scattered about, Arthur stood there seemingly dumbfounded.

"Sir Pendragon, what happened?"

"apologies sir Stronoff, it seems I need a proper location to train"

"If that was a reason you asked for some privacy, then you should have said so, I know the perfect place"

"no that was not the reason, it was because I needed to evaluate myself and see if the witch hadn't simply put me under a spell that tricked my senses, what you see is the result of a sudden Burst of mana and I can confirm that I am indeed not under a spell"

Arthur explained, though it was a lie, the reason everything was scattered was because of his skill [mana burst] he hadn't sufficiently prepared himself and had nowhere to direct the mana so the result was a sort of omnidirectional pulse that knocked everything in the room over. Though what he said was a lie, it should be consistent with the lie he told earlier, this also means he's going to need to keep track of the lies he says to make them consistent.

"Ah that makes sense, I can only imagine how troublesome it is for you to be in a place you have never heard off with no one to rely on, so it is quite normal to check for things like illusions"

The princess spoke with concern in her voice. However, in her mind, she was concocting way for him to rely on her and be close to him. She wanted to be his closest confidant on this continent and have him stick close to her that way it will be easier for him to risk his life for her and protect her when she needs it, she was unaware of herself wanting something that was much deeper than just him being a bodyguard.

Hearing her concerned voice, Arthur felt a sudden pulse at his heart. The princess was certainly good at acting. Arthur was someone who loved women, not in the degenerate sexual sense that implied that he Liked sleeping around but he loved them in the sense that he found the female form to be perfectly sculpted and beautiful, this wasn't the belief that women were perfect but it was the belief that women held an inherent beauty that was purely physical, those who are ugly simply needed to work on their appearance and they would achieve that inherent beauty. It was because of this belief that he found Renner to be especially beautiful because she effortlessly wielded her inherent beauty, plus she was quite possibly the smartest person in this country.

If Arthur hadn't known her twisted nature he might have been fooled but he wasn't, he has always been on guard when it comes to women in general because he knew it was women who could easily manipulate him especially once they start crying, girl tears were his weakness.

"Indeed my princess, but it should be fine, I've determined that this is no illusion, not to mention I'm looking forward to learning more about this continent"

Arthur explained, and Renner noted his use of the phrase "My princess" a phrase that made her a bit too elated than she should have or anticipated.

"Oh and Sir Stronoff, if you would indulge me in a spar in the future, I would appreciate it. As you said, you know the perfect place, right?"

"Of course, I too wish to see how I measure up to a knight from another continent, and please do refer to me as Gazeff"

"then you may refer to me as Arthur then"

Arthur had a few things to test about this new body and like stated before he didn't know much about Artoria aside from the fact she wielded Excalibur and something about a spear so he really needed to know what his strengths are and find out if he has any of her skills and Gazeff should be great help in that regard, he'll have to come up with a lie that will be believable when they find out he has no swords skills to speak of.

"Now that has been dealt with, Sir Gazeff please inform the maids to come clean this place up and Briana here will begin before they arrive, Sir Arthur and I will move to a different venue, I have things to talk to him about"

Renner expressed and beckoned Arthur to follow her as she turned on her heels and walked out the room with Arthur following behind her, he had an apologetic look directed at the maid, Briana the maid that had accompanied Renner she now had stay and clean up his mess.
