108 Saving a kid

Myeongdong district is the neighborhood that Jun was too familiar with in his past life and to some extent, even in his present life.

Because he used to attend Myeongdong Cathedral for Sunday mass, he roams around every time. As a result, he knew every store there and every route around. So, this place is kinda more special to Jun compared to other neighborhoods.

That's why he bothered to travel for more than an hour to reach here not only to buy a camera but also other things.

But, first things first, the prayer. Obviously, the first stop of a devoted catholic like him will be the cathedral. On the morning of a weekday, everyone in Seoul is busy. So, it is quite empty inside. He just took a seat and sorted out his thoughts for peace of mind.

After spending there for half an hour, he left the place to finally go and shop around. Without wasting time on other things, he directly went to buy the camera he needed.

At first, he planned to go to an Electronic store but surprisingly, he somehow stumbled upon the Canonplex store, which was supposed to be in Gangnam. Jun was aware that this world isn't an exact mirror world of his past world. While the majority of the things are the same, several things are also different apart from Entertainment Industry. So, this little change didn't fluster him or anything.

In fact, he was quite happy to see the store within the neighborhood as he planned to buy the same brand anyway.

Feeling lucky, he entered the store.

There are a few foreigners inside but it doesn't matter to him anyway. He directly went to a staff member and showed him the specific model on his mobile phone. While traveling from Incheon, he did a search on google for recommendations.

Meanwhile, the store employee was a little bit taken aback when she saw Jun who was wearing a hat and mask. As he took off the shades, his eyes were revealed and she felt like she had seen him somewhere.

As she stared at them in a daze for a couple of seconds, Jun brought her to reality, "Excuse me. Is this model available here?"

"Ah! Yes. Please come with me." She took him to the camcorders section.

Fortunately, he found the one he was looking for within no time. As he was checking out the model, the store employee couldn't help but stare at him. All of a sudden, she pulled her mobile phone out of her pocket and searched for something. She then looked at him again.

"Oh my god!" The employee let out a gasp and said, "You are Han Sung-Jun, right?"

Jun was startled for a second and looked at her. He thought no one would recognize him as he had only released one song. Moreover, he was covering up his hair and most of his face with the mask.

It was then something clicked inside his head. He cursed inwardly, "Sh*t. I forgot my contact lenses."

Jun's most striking feature is his emerald eyes, which are too rare for a Korean. This is something that he had to live with for the rest of his life.

When he left the dorm, he was wearing shades. It is common for people to wear them in sun but wearing them inside the store, along with a mask and hat would make him either look awkward or too catchy as if he was telling everyone that he was a celebrity, well, atleast, that's what he thought.

And now the employee had recognized him due to his eyes.

Not intending to blow up the matter, he just nodded and slowly replied, "Yes, I am. Um, I would like to buy this, please. I also need a tripod too." It's a Canon VIXIA HF G60 camcorder.

After being recognized, he no longer wanted to stay there and prepared to leave as fast as possible.

The store employee followed him until he almost exited the store. He was also forced to take a selfie with her in the meantime.

As both of them only cost him 2.3 million won (1800$), far lesser than what he had originally set the budget, Jun decided to shop around a bit after throwing the camcorder into his inventory when no one is looking.

He wasn't interested in clothes and also worried about getting recognized again. So, he decided to roam the streets. Taking advantage of his passive skill, which will maintain his abs and 6% body fat percentage, Jun visited several street food stalls one after another, enjoying the high-calorie dishes. Obviously, he had his shades on, this time, and no one cared because it is daylight.

Feeling that he was almost full, he bought Bungeoppang, a fish-shaped pastry stuffed with sweetened red bean paste as his last one.

Continuing to eat them, he started walking to the subway nearby. Jun was pleased that everything went smoothly from the moment he stepped outside of the dorm.

But, special people somehow always get embroiled in filmy situations. The same thing happened to Jun.

Like others, he was also waiting for the traffic signal to turn red so that he could cross the road. There are people on the other side too.

There was a pregnant woman on the other side, looking like she is in the 6th or 7th month if she wasn't carrying more than one baby. Beside her, there was a tall woman who looked like a model whether it is her looks or fashion. She was currently busy texting with one hand while grabbing a 3-year-old kid with another hand.

All of a sudden, the pregnant woman suddenly screamed as her water broke. For a moment, the people's attention was grabbed her situation.

It was the same for the woman with the kid. As she was beside, in a moment of helping her, she freed the kid and the girl suddenly scurried towards the road with vehicles moving.

"Na-Eun-ah…" The woman realized a bit late and found the kid had already reached the middle of the road with vehicles passing by. She attempted to step forward but someone else had already come to the rescue.

Obviously, it is Jun. The moment the kid rushed into the traffic, he already spotted her just like the people nearby him.

Throwing away the last piece of pastry aside, he rushed forward. It was like his body moved before his mind thought of the risk.

Within just a couple of seconds, he grabbed the kid but there was a car coming straight at him and it appeared to be too near.

Jun couldn't help but turn his back toward the incoming vehicle and shield the girl with his body.

*Creak*

Fortunately, the vehicle made a sudden brake at the last minute and Jun's back was hit with a bit of minimal force, which is enough for an average man to get pushed forward for a couple of meters and probably get a light fracture if one's bones are weak. However, Jun was only jerked forward a bit and he fell to his knees. His shades fell on the ground.

It was then that reality struck his mind and sweat poured down from his forehead, "I was saved…"

The vehicles were forced to stop around as he rose to his feet and walked toward the other end of the road while patting the crying kid's back. Little did he know that there was a vlogger around who accidentally recorded whole thing.
