54 Rift between Shonwu and Jun

Jun and the other four came downstairs to the kitchen.

As the youngest, Daniel took the task of cooking instant Ramyeon. With no other ingredients left to use in it, he just made a basic one. It is quite simple too. Just boil the water, add the seasoning, then, add ramen bricks, and wait until they soften. Then stir it.

However, a slight change was done to this game as they need to decide on the leader. Jun suggested Daniel break the noodles before adding them to the mixture. This way, one might get a long noodle or even a pretty short one.

But, Jun certainly won't depend on luck as there are bountiful rewards at stake. While Daniel is making Ramyeon, Jun opened the character menu.

He closed down the window and clicked on the skill, activating it before taking a look at his dorm mates.

With just a simple look while activating the inspection, Vernon's entire biography was in front of Jun on a holographic screen.

It led him to wonder what would happen if he further level the skill up to level-5. Maybe, their talents and stats?

But, to do that, he would need 1200 more credits. He only has 140 credits left and wouldn't like early so many in the near future either.

After inspecting everyone, he waited until Daniel brought a bowl of noodles to them and placed it on the table.

"First, let's be fair and mix it," Shonwu suggested before taking the charge of rapidly swirling it for a while before grabbing one noodle with the chopstick and slowly taking it out.

After a few seconds, a seemingly long noodle was put on the table. They didn't have any measurement devices. But, still, Jun felt that the noodle was atleast 20cms.

Then, as the second eldest, it was Jun's turn, next.

He inspected the bowl of noodles.

Jun was disappointed at first but then, he remembered a key important detail. He was inspecting the noodles as a whole.

Jun picked one noodle strand and inspected again, this time, only at that one in between the chopsticks.

Along with the name, brand, spicy level, and finally the length were displayed before Jun.

He instantly left it and pick another one. It took thirty seconds for Jun to finally choose a noodle strand and carefully pick it up.

Ten seconds passed away and between the chopsticks, there's a noodle strand longer than 30 cm and is still has 46 cm left.

Jun's actions brought mixed reactions. While Daniel and Jongho thought it was amazing, the other two felt like they were tricked by Jun, assuming he was really good at this game.

If Jun had randomly picked one and then, it turned out to be the longest one, then, Shonwu and Vernon would have wholeheartedly admitted that he was lucky but they saw Jun checked the noodles several times before deciding on one.

Despite how he said that his intuition turned to be a success, they felt it was more like a talent, instead. And they wondered, maybe, this is why Jun had proposed this game in the first place.

A few more seconds passed, Jun was able to take out at least half a meter before it was snapped as the rest of the noodle was too tangled with other strands.

After him, the rest of the three also tried it but in the end, Jun won the game, and so, became the dorm leader, atleast for this week. Now, the only thing left for him to do is to maintain the position for the rest of the three weeks to receive the Quest rewards.

*Clap* "Okay, guys. Let's start with food. Does anyone know how to cook? I know how to cook, not as good as professional chefs but I can guarantee it will be edible." As soon as Jun got the leadership, he didn't waste a time taking charge.

Unknown to him, it only caused displeasure among Vernon and Shonwu further, not being able to digest the situation and they felt like Jun was showing off a bit. If Jun would have known their thoughts, he would have been disappointed, at least because of Shonwu.

Both of them were roommates and lived together for several weeks by now and both of them survived together too. But, this just one event broke up that connection between Jun and Shonwu.

It's not just because that he felt tricked but it is also because the competition is now at the final stages. He is now 22 years old and will be in a tough situation if he doesn't make it to the top 11.

Even though he can still enter a top agency as long as he ranks 21 or lower, for him, a fast debut will be recommended. The more time passes, his chances would get lower. So, in such a case, he might have to choose a mediocre agency.

But, he can't do that as if he wanted to debut from such an agency, he would have done that instead of leaving it and trying luck with a reality program. Unlike Jun, he isn't a songwriter.

He has a good voice and can dance really well. But, an idol's life depends on a producer and songwriter. And top agencies will have them. So, the pressure was built up.

And the enormous talent pool around him didn't help him either. It only increased the stress further.

Thankfully, he was experienced in reality shows and is aware of cameras. So, he crushed his feelings and nodded in response. "Alright. Let's do that."

On the other hand, Vernon was two years younger than Jun. Even though he's Korean-American, he moved to Seoul when he was 5 and knew his manners when dealing with an elder. So, he too swallowed his discontent. However, he couldn't control the frown on his face.

Unfortunately, the cameras captured the moment and it will be taken into consideration for the next week. Although it won't be much of a penalty, this is just a start. There are six days to go.

As if this isn't enough, Daniel who was facing Vernon also caught his expression. In an instant, he realized that Vernon isn't in a good mood. What can cause him a bad mood all of a sudden? There can be only one explanation. It's because Jun became the leader. Realization dawned upon him and his thought of going on a duo with Vernon went down the drain because of a bad impression.

Only Jongho, who doesn't have any idea what happened around here, happily volunteered to bring notebooks from the training room to everyone and started writing.

Jun sit in a corner and was in thoughts. "Okay, let's think of dishes that I can make, then, go for the ingredients. There's no internet here to experiment with new dishes. Moreover, successful cooking recipes might also give me bonus points, hehe.

First and foremost, let's start with simple ones. Hmm, Samgyeopsal. So, that's lettuce, perilla leaves, onions, garlic, kimchi, sesame seeds, pork belly strips, Nah, I can cut them myself, okay, only pork belly then.

Okay, what's left, I can smudge it with salt, pepper, and sesame oil but soybean paste or chili paste would do better. Let's write all of the options. Who knows what others like with…

Hmm, next, one of my favorites, Jjajangmyeon. For this, I need fresh noodles but I guess frozen and dried noodles will be better considering I might store them in the refrigerator for a while.

Black bean sauce, obviously pork, zucchini, I added onion already, what left, Ahh, that's right, Yellow pickled Radish, I almost forgot it. It will make a good side dish. Let's buy shrimp too.

Hmm, there's ginger, adding mirin (rice wine) would make it more delicious but let's refrain from buying it.

Then, Tteokbokki. Just need rice cakes, fish cakes, soy sauce, red pepper paste, pepper powder, anchovy stock, and sesame oil. Oh, forgot garlic and sugar. I have written garlic already. Hmm, I wonder if adding ramen to it will look good? Well, we have stock in the cabinets, anyway. So, let's not worry about it."

One after another, Jun started to write ingredients for the dishes he knew of the recipes and was confident in making them good. On the other hand, others just wrote ingredients randomly whatever came to their mind like egg, chicken, lamb chops, king crab, salmon, sardine, etc...

After a whole hour, everyone gathered together and compared the ingredients. Jun wrote the list on a fresh page, removing the repeated ingredients. After that, they discussed the amount.

"For starters, how about for five days?" Jun suggested five days.

Daniel readily agreed with him, "that's right. We also have the evaluation. And there's also challenge round."

It led to another misunderstanding, especially to Shonwu where Jun and Daniel were indirectly telling him that he can be demoted to C-Block too.

This time, he couldn't handle it.

"I'm going for a shower." He immediately stood up from his seat and left for the top floor.

"Was he pressured by the evaluation or something?" Jun wondered out loud in confusion.

Looking at Jun, Daniel turned speechless and shook his head, "this Hyung…"
