Chapter 17 - Power Of Faith

"I have a question", I said.

Gaea nodded at me.

"Since when did Light and Darkness become a part of the elements? Light, I understand since I also have the Energy domain, but darkness? I'm confused", I asked.

The Primordials all collectively sighed.

"Damn Humans!", said Tartarus gruffly. The other Primordials nodded at his words.

What did the humans do?

Because whatever they did it sure made them mad.

*****

"Once upon a time, Light and Dark were not referred to as elements before, though some believed it to be, it wasn't accepted globally", continued Hemera, she spoke calmly with a voice that sounded ethereal.

"Until the age of web novels and anime began. All of a sudden, it became the norm to include Darkness and Light among the list of elements, and Humans, though feeble, are an easily impressionable race. That would not have been a problem, because as I've pointed out, they're feeble, but the mythical thrives on faith and belief".

Damn, so Humans have this much power? Though their power doesn't extend over us, the Primordials directly, it still affects us directly.

"So you mean to say that because humans believe Light and Darkness are part of the elements, it became part of my domains? Then, why did Time and Space not become part of my elements too?"I asked, imagining myself rewinding time on a blue cookie and teleporting, I almost couldn't stop myself from shaking from joy, then I remembered that every move from my untrained body could destroy a planet, I hurriedly calmed down.

"These questions would just make the whole conservation long-winded", said Tartarus.

As if it wasn't already, I rolled my eyes.

Gaea picked up from where Hemera stopped,

"Your first question can easily be answered with this. You know about the story of Helios and Apollo and Selene and Artemis?", I had an inkling of it, so I told her to continue.

"Helios was the Titan of the Sun and Selene was the Titan of the Moon long before Artemis and Apollo were born but one day it was believed that Apollo was the God of the Sun and Artemis was the Goddess of the Moon respectively and gradually the belief disseminated, and people gradually believed, because of belief, Apollo and Artemis gained Solar and Lunar related domains gradually,

And due to the decrease in belief, Helios and Selene became weaker and eventually Helios faded and Selene had only a little of her Lunar domain left and that was how Apollo became the God of the Sun and Artemis, the Major Goddess of the Moon…

All because of Belief and Faith", concluded Gaea

Damn!

So there was such a story behind Apollo and Artemis? I wonder if it was propaganda? Hmmmmm

"I'm sure the who one created humans sure regret it, wherever they are", I wondered out loud. "They indirectly gave us- I mean them, power over the Gods".

Gaea and Chaos shifted uncomfortably on their thrones.

As Gaea was the one who created Humans indirectly since they were made from her bones when Zeus and some other Gods killed the whole Human race except a select few and Chaos allowed her to.

"So Faith has that much power? Does that mean if at least 60 percent of the population of the Universe believe Erebus or the male Primordials are female, he becomes female? Hahaha, I can't stop laughing", imagining a genderbent Erebus, Chaos, Tartarus, Ouranos, Aether, Chronos, or Eros, I roared with laughter.

"I actually have two genders. There's nothing bad about it", said Chaos. "At least, as a female, the masturbating feels better… not that I do that!", said a now flustered Chaos, when he saw everybody looking at him weirdly. (A/N: We'll get back to you later 🙄😒)

"Eewwww, I don't want to be a girl", said Eros in a disgusted tone, "and that's why we did that, remember that time guys?"

The male Primordials had traumatized  looks on their faces, whatever happened to them, must have scared them so bad.

What happened then interested me so badly, I forgot I had an outstanding question and told them to tell me the story.

"Nah!!!... We ain't telling shit!", talk-sang Aether, the other guys were tight-lipped also.

Until…

"Well, it all happened…"

"Chronosss!!!!!!", the other males shouted, they didn't want their dark history exposed.

"Sorry guys… couldn't help it!", he said apologetically. That's one thing about good Old Chronos, he couldn't keep a secret at all.

Now I know where the quote "Time will tell"l came from! It was an actual representation of his personality.

But unfortunately for me, the boys had already piled on good old Chronos, so he couldn't tell me anything.

But I wanna know, a little me threw a tantrum in my mind.

Probably sensing my dilemma, Chaos reading my mind decided to tell me the story…

For those of you wondering why I didn't complain that he read my mind, well I'm easily bribed, you have to answer any question I have at that point in time.

"I'll summarize the story for you, Percy, since everybody else knows the story", Chaos said, knowing he threw some people under the bus.

So the females know the truth?

And they didn't tell me?

What happened to being BFFs?

A spur of the moment?

Well, everyone has secrets. They were trying to protect their loved one's dignity.

What I don't get is why Eros was protected too? The handsome bastard had no wife among the council…

"Well, it all happened when the girl power movement spread across the universe until it was dealt a great blow by the males across the universe…"
