1 Chapter 1: The Start
In the year 2020, the 1st of January, the world we know of drastically changed without any warning. Common sense was twisted and phenomenon that science cannot explain appeared everywhere
The day started like normal. Students got annoyed by their mother that woke them up early for their class. The adults were also up in the morning to prepare to go on their works. In some places, one can see airplanes flying in the sky. In the vast ocean, different ships set sail
It started out normal yet things turned 'extremely abnormal'

The sound of something tapping an object was heard by everyone. No matter where or what you are, that sound will enter your ears
The humans unconsciously turned to look at the sunny sky. They all suddenly had a bad feeling about this. Seconds passed but nothing unusual happened
The humans thought that the sound was nothing and ignored it to continue their everyday lives not knowing that that sound will change all of their lives
Suddenly, the sunny sky vanished and the sky darkened. The sudden change of weather stunned the humans and they once again turned their heads to look at the sky
What the humans saw in the sky made their eyes pop while their jaws dropped on the ground. No one knows how it happened but they can see that outside the sky was a translucent dome-like thing
It encloses their whole world like a protective barrier. But it wasn't only the barrier that they saw. Outside the barrier, they saw chains. Those chains are also not normal
The length and thickness of the chains will make any tall mountains or high buildings to blush in shame. They were too thick that it literally covered the sky causing almost no sunlight to descend on the ground
Their whole world was literally covered by a barrier and outside that barrier was thick chains
The humans, seeing this horrifying scene panicked. Some pilots lose their minds and were not able to properly control their aircraft. The world had the highest number of plane crashes in just a single day
Cars on the land bumped into each other causing accidents everywhere. The thick smoke coming from all sorts of accidents flew above and made the world even darker
Screams and cries can be heard left and right. The little girls and even some adults peed on their pants but no one has the mood to ridicule or laugh at them. All of their focus was on the things they are seeing in the sky
Crack
A black finger penetrated the chains and barrier. That black finger caused, even more, fear and panic. The chains were already gigantic but just a mere finger was even bigger!
Not only bigger but it was strong. The finger managed to tear away the barrier along with the chains. It 'unwrapped' the earth easily as if those things were just paper for it
The finger retracted and the only thing that the humans can see was an eye. A completely black eye. It was so big that it filled the humans' vision. They cannot even see the whole face of this godlike being
The black eye stared at earth and whether it be humans or animals, they all felt as if their secrets were laid bare in front of the eye. It was like they were stripped down naked and no secrets of them can escape this gigantic eye
All creatures felt fear from this eye and none of them dared to move. Even the screams vanished and all of them were trembling
The eye shone with a blinding black light and did something unbelievable again. Modern technologies vanished or turned useless
Whether it be weapons of mass destruction like nuclear bombs or down to a simple cellphone, all of them magically vanished. The airplanes were no more and the humans inside can only brace themselves from death for being in such a high place
Those in the ships fell down in the ocean, whether they will survive or not depends on how good they swim and how far they are to the nearest land
After making all the modern technologies vanish, the eye surprisingly vanished as well as if it didn't appear in the first place
But not long after that, thousands of doors appeared all over the world. The humans still didn't recover from the sudden turn of events when all of them felt pain in their bodies
The screams appeared again and this time, all the creatures are crying in pain. It's like some sort of thing was invading their bodies
The humans still didn't know it that time but the godlike being removed the seal on earth. The seal that made sure that there will be no energy called 'mana' that will exist on earth
But after the seal was destroyed, the world was assaulted by a sudden influx of mana from space. The mana starts out dirty but as soon as it entered the earth, it will immediately be purified
Humans, animals, plants, and other lifeforms lived in a world without mana for thousands of years. Not all of them managed to adapt from suddenly existing in a world with mana
Soon, horrible things happened. Those who failed to adapt were assaulted by mana. The mana entered their bodies and caused havoc inside them
Their skin turned gray and although their insides were destroyed, the mana inside them strengthened their bodies. They lose their minds but their bodies are superior to normal
However, a stronger body is nothing if you will become a mindless monster. A monster that will attack everything in sight. Thus, the humans called them as 'fallens'
They are the creatures who failed to adapt from the sudden influx of mana and fell
The fallens started attacking everyone in their vicinity causing the world to turn even messier. More deaths occurred everywhere as fresh blood dyed the ground
The smell of blood and organs wafted in the air, those who have weak stomach cannot take the smell and sight causing them to vomit on the ground
But that was a mistake, vomiting like that left their bodies defenseless. The fallens near them attacked and they add up to the numbers of creatures that died
Fortunately, the fallen's body might be superior to normal humans but it wasn't like humans don't have a chance of beating them. The disparity in strength was still not that far apart. With a bit of courage and skills, the humans can still kill the fallens
The fallens are mindless monsters after all. They don't have intellect and was easy to trick. But even then, not all humans that didn't become a fallen has the courage to kill. Those fallens are also former humans and it was not easy to kill someone you love even if they are already basically almost dead now
Soon, heroes arise from the masses and the originally bleak future of humanity shone with a ray of hope
1 year passed. All the creatures on earth whether it be humans, animals, plants, etc. slowly adapted to the mystical energy, mana
The humans started wielding mana and used its power for themselves. They gained the ability to protect their selves. Some humans managed to make a fire on their palm and some made ice spikes
There are also those people who can enhance their body strength
But they were still in a disadvantageous position against the fallens. There's not only fallen humans. Animals that failed to adapt also turned into mindless monsters and they are often superior to fallen humans
Aside from the fallens, the animals and plants mutated. Although they didn't become mindless monsters but they were still a threat
The world is in a constant war. All races were facing threats everywhere but they soon discovered something
The doors that appeared at the start of the apocalypse has great effects. No fallens dared to come close in a certain range from those doors. The distance differed and it appeared as if they were random
The doors were all white in color. It wasn't pure and taint free white. It was a blank like white
This discovery alleviates the threat they are facing. Even if the range is limited, it was still enough to build a village or city depending on the door's ability
Thus, all sorts of various turfs were formed. Those who are more powerful than the rest gained authority and become their base's supreme authority
Some dedicated their lives to protect the citizens on their territory but most of them become corrupted. Drowning to the power that the apocalypse gave them
The government is no more. The strong will dictate what is right or wrong. If you disagreed while being weak, only death will await you

In a certain village outside the big cities of the old era, a door was erected and stood proudly on the ground. Unlike the normal doors, this one has a different color
It was the opposite white color of the normal doors. It was pure black that is darker than even the night itself. It also gave off a dangerous aura. Weak-willed people won't be able to come close to it
It's not just the colors that are opposite, even the effects are! Although it didn't attract a large number of fallens, but there were still some that approached it
One would have thought that humans will stay as far away as possible from this suspicious door but there was actually a man standing on top of the door
The man was quite young, only around twenty years old. But unlike the normal people at his age, his eyes were twinkling with a hint of savagery
The man is called Caizher. A man from a mobster family. Although he didn't enter the business like what his parents want, but to protect himself from the family's enemies, he learned all sorts of life protecting skills
Not just to protect himself but he also realizes that he likes fighting itself. The era before the apocalypse was too peaceful and he didn't have the chance to showcase his whole ability. But this apocalypse is a blessing for him
All sorts of monsters were out there for him to fight. The only unfortunate thing was that his parents turned into fallens. It doesn't matter if one has strong willpower, if their bodies cannot adapt then they are a goner! But it only made him sad a bit as he wasn't that close to his parents
With his parents dead, Caizher was left to fend for himself. He found this small village that was wiped out by the fallens. He also found this amusing door that can attract some fallens
Thus, Caizher settled down in the village. There was a lake nearby for water and if he's hungry, he will hunt down some animals. And to ensure his long-term stay, he planted some easy to grow crops in the village. It wasn't hard since the villagers before have their own land to grow crops
Caizher looked at the three fallens below him and his dark eyes flashed with a dark light. His bloodlust was ignited and he controlled his mana
Mystical black energy gathered on his hands and he controlled it to form two simple daggers. In just a few seconds, two all-black daggers were formed
It wasn't a normal dagger though as it was formed using mana. If Caizher failed to continue to provide mana on it, the daggers will dissipate into black lights
With a crazed smile, Caizher leaped from the black door and readied his dagger. It was a bit sharper than normal daggers made up of metals from the previous era. After all, it took Caizher almost a year to manage this feat. Although he would have a higher attack power if he coated a metal dagger with mana but he did this so that it will become his 'mana training'
It was easy to make a ball shape attack using mana but a sustainable dagger? How can it be easy when humans only started using mana for a year? They are lacking in information and was grasping in the dark. Thus, it was safe to say that Caizher is one of the geniuses of humanity
Any base would surely welcome someone strong like him if they are not narrow-minded to the point that they will think their position will be threatened by a single person
Caizher reached the first fallen. As he was in a village far from those with a high human population, the fallens he encountered were almost always fallen animals
But it seems like he's in luck today as all three of the fallens were former humans. It is easier to kill them. Fallen animals have a superior body, they also have different attack patterns depending on their specie causing them to be more troublesome to deal with
