Head for the Thylacine Tribe

After living through the experience of being besieged by coyotes and being chased by aboriginal people, Kruger told me that he will never leave me alone again. As a consequence, he refused to hunt without taking me aside this morning.

"You enjoyed lying in my pouch, right? Why not go hunting in my pouch at this time, LuLu? " Kruger shook his head when I told him I can stay here and wait for him alone after breakfast, and then he held my hands and asked, "Don't you want to see my clean-cut and plucky actions when I am hunting?"

He got the point: except for our first meet, this giant wolf has never been heroic again but is more and more likely to be a big dog. Actually, I do want to watch him hunting like a real deadly beast and find his masculine alpha side again. Moreover, I am a little scared of being alone in the jungle now. But I still have some doubts:

"Won't it get in the way of your hunting if I stay in your pouch?"

Kruger smiled and patted my head, and then puffing out his chest proudly:

"No worries! I am the alpha of the thylacine tribe, you sure could always trust my hunting skills. All you need to do is hide in my pouch and wait."

Hmmm...

Doesn't it mean I can't really see him all the way when he is hunting?

However, I might feel bad about the bloody scene or even throw up, maybe it's better to put those parts out of my sight.

...

Well, imagination is beautiful, but the reality is nasty.

To my surprise, me, as a proficient skilful driver, never frown even when I was racing, is now... get carsick! Or maybe it's more appropriate to say I get pouch-sick or... wolf-sick?

Curling up in a huge space, there's no handle for me to hold and locate my body. Therefore, my body jumped up and down along with Kruger's running, dashed forward and suddenly stopped, rolling all over his pouch.

I felt like I am the clothes that have been frantically cleaned and dried in a drum washing machine, and my stomach was really twisted together like clothes...

Felt a little nauseous, yet I was afraid of disturbing Kruger's hunting and making us in danger, or letting him lose his lunch and making him starving — he hasn't eaten since last night. So I pressed on my churning stomach and closed my eyes, holding my teeth together and tightening the jaw muscles, trying my best to hold the queasy feeling.

Finally, he stopped...

Rolling and crawling out of the pouch, I knelt on the grass and began to retch.

"LuLu! What's the matter? Are you okay?" Kruger immediately shifted into human form and held me in his arms, asking me nervously.

As a strong and athletic beast-man, I think he may not be able to understand my feelings, so I waved my hands:

"Nothing, I am fine... It's just that my body is not used to rotating in the pouch, which makes me feel a bit uncomfortable."

Hearing that I feel sick because of his activities, Kruger deflated his lips, sadly blamed himself and began to circle around me anxiously:

"I am SO SORRY! Is there anything I can do for you?"

"It's all my fault... How can I forget that the human body is fragile and delicate?"

"LuLu LuLu, Lululululu... would you like some water? Do you feel better now? What can I do?"

Stunning by his whirl, I bent down my waist and waited until my stomach was no longer uncomfortable, then I wiped my mouth, "Okay stop, Kruger. I am all good now."

He tamely stopped and walked back to me, and then squatted down and stared at me with his round and tearing eyes. Seeing him become so upset, I combed his hair, which looked as if it had lost its vitality and was no longer propped up, trying to comfort this sad dog. After tapping this big dog-man's forehead with a smile, I insisted:

"It's true, don't worry, I really feel better now. Let's go back."

...

After lunch, I was about to walk to the creek to clean the dishes, but Kruger stopped me.

"LuLu, would you like to go to my tribe and live with us? Since I can't guarantee your safety while I am not around, and you are not comfortable staying in my pouch. It might be better if there are others who can protect you."

"You can just take it easy, every beast in my tribe is a good thylacine! Not only the single males, uncle Hugh and his mate but also two other couples are living with us."

It is true that in order to survive in the primitive jungle for a long time and ensure the safety of life, most humans are living together in groups. Although I like watching documentaries about people trying to survive in the wild and reconstruct primitive life, all I can do is watch them with my eyes.

When it comes to using the skills to really get my hands dirty... Technically, my survival expertise is basically zero, even if I do have some tips and survival knowledge in my mind. In this particular field, I don't think my brain can easily teach my hands how to do it well.

Moreover, Kruger has mentioned before that he is the alpha of the thylacine tribe, I guess it's impossible for him to just leave the tribe and stay with me from now on. It might be better for both of us to go back to the thylacine tribe and live as a group, instead of groping to survive in a foreign place.

Contemplated for a while, I finally made up my mind, "Sure, then let's leave this afternoon. Is it far from our present place?"

Kruger lightened up because of my answer, he shook his head as if it were a rattle drum:

"Not exactly! I ran from the tribe on the morning of the first day I found you and kept running for about half a day to finally get here."

As a giant wolf, if Kruger runs at his full speed, I am afraid it should be nearly 100 kilometres per hour. To this extent, the thylacine tribe might be at least hundreds of kilometres away, he told me that's not so far?

It seems that I underestimated Kruger's fitness level and his endurance.

"I decided to bring all my camping stuff with me, so I'm going to drive. How about you lead my way in front, Kruger?"

According to the past exploration, there is a relatively low bush out of the jungle area. Kruger's beast form is close to the size of my Jeep Wrangler — he is even larger, so he can help me build a rough road for the car.
