The Continental in Osaka

Osaka Continental Hotel

Anton, who had disembarked from the plane some time ago, headed directly to this hotel exclusively reserved for professional killers.

Anyone unrelated to this world couldn't stay at this hotel, making it something special that only such places offer to their guests.

That's why nobody in this hotel was someone you wanted to mess with; every guest here knew how to kill and had done so repeatedly, making them all special in their own way.

"We're at the Continental; I hope you have a good stay, sir." The driver looked at Anton through the rearview mirror after parking outside the hotel.

Anton nodded, got out of the car, and headed towards the facilities of this beautiful hotel, one of the most modern he had been in for a long time. The people around me mostly wore suits; others were more distinct, wearing very colorful clothes. Some women wore long dresses, and others were in simple but equally peculiar clothing.

The atmosphere of this hotel was peculiar; everyone seemed to act normal but was actually more alert than ever because they were surrounded by potential enemies. It's known that in the Continental, one of the rules that should not be violated by anyone is that killing, using a weapon, or fighting is prohibited. Any such action would be considered a violation, and the perpetrators would be killed.

Anton could feel many eyes assessing him; he was wearing a simple black suit with the same kind of armor that all professional killers used. In addition to that, he had a special suit in his bag that he could use if things got ugly.

Walking towards the reception, Anton looked at the woman who seemed to be the concierge of this Continental Hotel and also his fiancée.

"Welcome to the Continental; how may I assist you?" asked Akira Shimazu, who was reviewing some documents.

"The best room you have in this hotel, please." Anton placed a violet coin representing membership in the Light Association and a guardian on the counter. These were comparable to people above many high-ranking members of the High Table.

Akira, who glanced at the coin, was surprised and quickly looked up, but the face she saw was unexpected. "What are you doing here?"

"Visiting my fiancée. I thought making a boring call wouldn't be convenient, so I cleared my busy schedule to meet you. Am I here at an unexpected time?" Anton looked around, hinting sarcasm at Akira's words. His tone was cold yet friendly, giving off a distant but, at the same time, close vibe, at least with Akira.

Akira was a young woman, apparently the same age as Anton. Besides being a hotel concierge, she was a professional killer trained by her father. Her slender body made her look like a delicate yet dangerous rose with thorns, and her cold expression could easily convey what she felt by just looking at people. Moreover, those oriental features gave her an even colder vibe, something Anton felt when she stared at him.

At 21, these were supposed to be the best years of anyone's youth, but as Koji Shimazu's only family, she needed to support her father in managing this hotel. Despite being suffocated by it, she felt useful working, as she had been for many years.

"In reality, you're not the only one busy with your life. I thought we would see each other in a few more years, but it seems you're not busy enough being a priest." Akira, who looked at Anton's coin, brought it closer to him for him to take it again.

Anton smiled slightly, understanding Akira's violent attitude since he knew who he was dealing with. He said, "So, will you take me to my room?"

"Of course, how could I not accompany such an honest and recognized gentleman? It would be disrespectful not to do so; besides, you're my fiancé." Akira signaled to a girl in the distance, and she understood that she should take the place to receive the guests.

Anton walked behind Akira, looked at her straight posture, and knew that she was indeed a well-trained woman. The way she walked revealed many things, so he thought of abandoning the idea of considering marrying this woman.

The union between couples could be a personal decision, but Anton had no time to worry about such things and would consider committing to someone who thought the same way he did. If Akira found this union appropriate, he wouldn't mind.

"I recommend you keep your eyes out of inappropriate places, Mr. ShadowBane. Don't you think it's disrespectful to look at someone in that way so openly?" Akira, who entered the elevator, had noticed Anton's gaze on her back, so due to this misunderstanding, she deducted many points from Anton.

Anton looked up, looked at Akira, and said, "It's not what it seems; the last thing I would notice about a woman is her back... I tend to see things that others don't in people; by the way, your way of walking is quite peculiar."

"For a priest, you're either very honest or lie very well." Akira didn't lower her cold and distant personality with Anton, which slightly strained the communication.

But Anton, who cared very little about other considerations one might make in this situation, looked at Akira and asked, "So, do you agree to the engagement?"
