A dagger and a gun

Screams filled my ears as I heard my heartbeat. My brother's face filled my vision. Suddenly I was taken back to the beautiful days where he used to hold my hand with his cute smile and say "sister!".

I felt my eyes well up with tears. I didn't know why they were coming out. Maybe it's because I knew that I was sealing my fate by killing him. Or maybe a part of me wished that this was all a joke and that we would laugh all of this off later in the dining room. But something deep in my conscience was telling me that this was real.

My brother wanted to kill me so that he could be the master of the throne.

Sigh. What a terrible fate. I should've expected it though we are the leaders of the fox clan after all.

My brother's smirk turned into a look of fear as I got closer and closer to him with my dagger. Even as a child I was called "nimble legs" due to being undefeated in speed. The advisors and guards all pointed their spears at me. I smiled at him before eyeing his heart. I could almost smell the fear which was oozing out of his large body.

The world around me turned hazy as a sort of familiar craziness filled me. I felt ecstatic as my brother's fear filled me. I always became like this when I'm faced with my prey.

At the battlefield my bloodlust is renowned throughout the whole Animaliari Kingdom. People have stated that my violet eyes turn red and that my black hair turned white when I'm like this.

Kill.

Kill.

Kill.

I started laughing crazily as my desires seemed to get closer and closer to reality. My brother's heart was about to be mine! Three steps, two steps, no one step left! I felt like I was about to explode from the anticipation!

I readied my dagger and pulled back to deliver the killing blow.

"CHERURA!"

What? I felt like I was frozen to my spot. Why aren't I moving? Suddenly a feeling of relief washed over me. My senses calmed down. Only one person could stop me in this daze.

I looked back only to be faced with a sort of smoke filling my vision. My instincts told me to bite my tongue. If it was a powder released to sedate me I will not fall prey. The pain from biting my tongue kept me awake. My sight heightened as I looked at my surroundings. My bare body which was pulsing with heat was now shivering.

The previous screams of my clan were now non existent. A familiar copper smell filled my nose. Blood. I felt my craziness start to return once more but I pinched myself to keep it at bay. With a dagger in hand my mind ran with possibilities.

Is it an enemy clan? Who was it? The snake clan? The vultures? Suddenly I felt a hand reach out and grab me by the waist. I was then hoisted and put on someone's shoulder. Shock filled me for a second. From my line of sight I can tell that this person was tall. His shoulders broad. My nose caught the scent of sulfur from him.

Wait. I still had my dagger! With my inept speed I put the edge of the dagger on his neck and whispered:

"One more move and your soul will become mine."

I heard a chuckle.

A chuckle? I'm about to kill this bastard and he's laughing?

"Looks like I've caught a worthy prey."

The deep voice that came out of my captor made all the hair on my neck rise. It was sultry and attractive. I felt like I could be enveloped in his voice and would obey his every command. I have never encountered a voice like this one.

The smoke screen started to dissipate. I turned and came face to face with my captor. To say that my heart jumped and skipped a beat is an understatement.

His eyes twinkled like gold periodots. His jaw as sharp as a knife. His features royal and screaming "handsome". His lips inviting me to overtake them. The black hair which covered his head was midnight blue and streaked with crimson. He was the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen.

I couldn't stop watching his lips move. I couldn't hear a single thing he was saying.

Suddenly I felt something cold touch my forehead. I looked up to see the barrel of a gun.

"Now, my beautiful prey give me one reason why I, Cerebrius of the vulture clan should not take your life now?"
