2 Prologue: Part 2

The phrase "will allow you to live a life with no regrets" that was said by the figure echoed within Reeh's mind as he had always wanted his life to be like that. He had never accomplished anything major in his previous life, so he never felt fulfilled.

He wanted to show to others every time, especially his family, that he had been -at least once- at the top to make them proud of him and to salvage his receding self-esteem.

Unfortunately, life got taller and more arduous like a hill that changed into a cluster of mountains and he stayed the same with his legs getting more numb as he tried to climb higher.

Thinking about this matter ignited a fire within Reeh's eyes that was noticed by the towering figure. Determination gushed through every part of Reeh.

"What do I have to do?" Reeh proclaimed.

'I would do anything to live a memorable life and die with no regrets.' Reeh thought to encourage himself forgetting that the figure in front of him could read his mind.

{Well Reeh, my dear Candidate} the figure started, with a clear change in tone as he felt that Reeh could now be actually considered qualified to be his candidate by the transformation in Reeh's attitude.

{As I said previously, you would have to pass my tests that consists of differing situations and difficulties. In these tests, you would be reincarnated or transmigrated into parallel worlds of Earth where you would be given the chance to choose different birth perks depending on the Test's difficulties.

I can't tell you about the other tests because you have to complete the previous one before I could give tell you the overview for the next, but the first test is the 'Very Easy Mode'. I don't really consider this Test as a 'test' for it is more like a gift from me. In this world, you would be reborn with a helper. What you learn and obtain will be yours and what your helper learns and obtains will also be yours. In here, you can have the chance to live the life that you have always wanted.

This parallel Earth will have many similarities to your previous life's earth. But I'm sorry to say that your previous family and friends would not exist in this world.}

Reeh was disheartened hearing this and could not help himself to ask "Why?"

{I'm sorry Reeh but I changed it because of my first 100 candidates. Because I said they could live the life they always wanted, all except one chose to be reborn again with their family. And that one person didn't choose the same decisions as the others only because she was an orphan.

They then used those perks that they got to make their family have the most power, oppressing all especially those that contend against them. Some of the Candidates didn't know that their family were using their newly gained power to cruelly take advantage of others and most found out about it but didn't do anything. They were all focused on trying to make their previous life's family satisfied that they didn't notice that everything was in complete chaos. Needless to say, they failed the test. What I made to be the easiest test turns out to be the most difficult because I forgot to take into account the weight of the idea of family.

Now, I'm not saying that you could not give your family the things that you want to give them, haha there were even some that tried to kill their own, but there is always a limit to everything. Even Me.}

Reeh couldn't help but reflect on what the figure said, especially the "Even Me". Who would have thought that a being that overlooks trillions and with such power also has limits.

'Is that why he needs an heir and said that that will allow him to 'strive to greater heights'? For him to breakthrough his limits? Does that mean that I too could breakthrough mine?' Reeh looked towards the figure and thought that he saw a smile on the figure's blurry face.

{Each of the tests evaluates one Trait from the Candidates.} the figure continued {I can't tell you what they are because that would ruin the purpose of the tests but I can tell you that the main purpose of the tests is to see whether you have the qualifications to hold the power and influence to be the Overlord of the Milky Way. Though I can tell you as a hint that the first test will have something to do with happiness.
