6 GameWorld-VTs’ background

Reeh found himself inside an empty white room. He thought that he was back with the figure because of the white space but he noticed that the room was different as it wasn't endless and that it has walls. The room was 5m cubed big.

"Lupin where am I?"

[You are now inside GameWorld: VMMMORPG Earth Lite that you have just bought and activated.]

"What? This empty room is the Gameworld that I have spent all of my Prestige points and Existence points on?" Reeh exclaimed, annoyed and disappointed.

[Yes. This room will be where you would be first teleported into when you enter this GameWorld. It is currently empty because you have yet to customize it.]

"Oh." Reeh blushed. He felt bad because for a moment he blamed the system for selling him something that he thought was useless. Who would have thought that he would first have to customize it.

[To add things, you just have to think or say 'Customize World' and the worlds that you own would appear and you could just pick which world you want to change.

Since this is the only world that you currently own, you will only have items that are exclusively for this world and normal Earth products.]

"Oh okay, thank you Lupin." said Reeh, curious and excited about what he could add into his blank room.

'Customize World' Reeh decided to not say it out loud because he thought that he should take the fastest and easiest way to do it.

After he thought that, a blue rectangular panel showed up.

[Worlds Available:

GameWorld: VMMMORPG Earth Lite]

Reeh clicked his only option and a list filled with objects showed up after. There were objects that Reeh has known from his previous life such as computers, headphones, phones, radios, etc. but Reeh was surprised and exhilarated to find objects such as holographic devices, hover beds, Virtual Teleporters, Robot Rivals, and many more.

In fact there was too much to choose from that with the limited space in the room, Reeh was a little overwhelmed. But he soon calmed down and decided to choose what he thought were the basic items that should be in a room.

He first decided to put a hover bed at the corner of the room. The hover bed was unlike any of the hover beds fantasized by other people that he saw from his previous life. His was shaped like a cloud and is very adaptable. It would automatically change itself into what would "feel" the most comfortable for the person based from the person's brainwaves.

After putting a hover bed, he then placed a desk made out of nanobots right beside it. He then placed a holographic computer accompanied by a futuristic sunglasses that works as a headphone, a microphone, and a real life zoom in function. He then put a hover chair that looked like the ones that were in the movie Wall-E.

Reeh felt that the white room was a little bland, so he made the walls and the ceiling mirror-like which could produced images that were programmed into a remote. He could then just choose whichever background that he wanted to have based on his mood.

He customized the room into something that he felt was the most efficient, but he paused when he came upon the Virtual Transporters because the name was colored blue compared to the others that were colored white or green.

"Lupin, what are Virtual Transporters?"

[Virtual Transporters are devices that just suddenly manifested out of no where and could be considered as sentient beings that allow intelligent organisms to be transported into their programmed virtual worlds. In your case, the Virtual Transporter in this world, VT, will allow your body to be transported into games that exists on planet Earth before 2030, virtually of course.

When your virtual body dies in the game, you won't actually die in real life, unlike those imperfect virtual pods that were made based off of VTs. But just because you won't die doesn't mean that it wouldn't feel realistic. In fact, it is quite the opposite. VTs will transfer the user's subconscious into programmed worlds and will make the user feel 100%+ of their senses and instill the user's abilities - if they are allowed - to grant the most experience that could be acquired virtually.

Lucky for you, Reeh, you have abilities that are from your soul such as [Bane of Heaven-Tower of Babel] and [Time Control] which are automatically recognized as a pass by the VTs since they have no control over an organism's soul as they have no soul themselves.]

"That's awesome, but doesn't that count as cheating? Isn't there, like, some balance that 'GMs'(Game Masters) try to make so that there won't be an overpowered gamer that will abuse their strength, taking away the fun off of the game? Also, I thought that without a soul one won't be able to live?"

[The VTs are the 'GMs' themselves. They are intelligent beings but that doesn't mean that they are able to feel. And if they are, they would just care about themselves and not about what those users would think as 'unfair' since they would only be able to continue existing by consuming the virtual bodies of the dead users. Since they don't have a soul, they absorb the experience accumulated by the users to sustain their huge programmed bodies.

Also, not having a soul doesn't mean that one couldn't live, they still could but their Existence is unstable which is why they need to absorb some type of source that will give them energy. Finally, not having a soul will make the being not be able to go through the Cycle of Rebirth, so if they die once, they will forever cease to exist.

So they are grateful for those that could easily kill other's virtual body because if they don't get enough, then they will cease to exist.]

"Aren't they dangerous then? I mean, couldn't they just make the users not be able to leave their programmed world so that they would have endless supply of energy?"

[That is the most rational thing to do if one thinks about it but apparently, when The Perpetual Law first found out about the VTs existence, It decided that their ways of Existence leads to a lot of chaotic-death energy. So, The Perpetual Law used its power of balance and reduced the amount of experience that VTs need to consume significantly. In exchange, the VTs now have extreme reactions to souls which is like poison for them. If they imprison the same soul continuously for an average of 1 Mortal Count (1 MC = 1 Earth month), then they will die. Their death would cause all the lower being's souls that were inside them trapped, which would eventually lead to a slow death.

But many mortal organisms saw the huge benefits of VTs not only because they could gain valuable life and skill experience but also because of the minute chance of obtaining Creation Objects, objects that could be considered treasures as they could be taken out of VTs with their effects still available, that they would risk scouring the VTs' wide worlds endlessly for a chance to obtain at least one. Their obsessions in turn caused some of the VTs to set limits on when and how organisms could enter and exit their programmed world - some with requirements while others used time limits.

The Perpetual Law allowed this to happen so that there won't be a lot of lower being's deaths and to reduce the risks of a higher being's death. The VTs can consume everyone's experience, but their favorite are the experience of higher beings which not only keeps them full for a long time but it also allows them to expand, increasing their area of control and power.

An example of a VT that had grown as powerful as an actual higher being is the Heaven-Hell VT. It is a VT that automatically takes souls on the extreme sides of Good and Evil after the organism dies and puts them in their supposed place in its world, Heaven for the Good and Hell for the Evil. It first appeared in the Milky Way galaxy with a virtual world as big as Earth and could only imprison souls for 1 Earth Day but later it's area of influence spread through multiple multiverses and could could now hold souls for up to 1 Immortal Count (1 IC = 1 Earth Millennium) making it one of the most powerful VTs. It is a pretty smart VT as extremity souls provide more energy source than normal souls and how it erases the trapped souls' memory of it except for their experiences in which they would tell other organisms about when they go through the reincarnation cycle.

Anyways, If you want to have a VT, you would only be limited to 1 per world since they are very rare.

The VTs you will get will also be "tamed" since they will go through The System of Systems making them stable and won't spontaneously mutate.]

"Thanks Lupin. I would like to put one in this room" said Reeh after knowing about VTs and what they are capable of. He finds the concept of virtual worlds interesting because of the novels he read in his previous life and of the things that he could obtain from them. He is very much looking forward on finding Creation Objects.

A few seconds later a rainbow colored cube appeared on the wall facing his bed which then started glowing brighter. After the blinding light receded, a blue 2 meter tall portal-looking object with a sign above it that says "Earth Lite" appears in the cube's place.
