5 Chapter 4

Zhang Feinan is quiet since they come back from the playground. He is having dinner with Lily who has calmed down. They both didn't utter a word making the maid and the butler worried. Usually, the father and daughter has always have something to say to each other.

"Are daddy mad with Lily?" Lily asked when Zhang Feinan didn't even speak a word to her. Zhang Feinan look at Lily and let a sigh. He just doesn't feel so good after meeting Jiang Yili again.

"Daddy has no reason to get angry to Lily. Eat, okay?" He smile to assure Lily doesn't feel bad. Lily finally calm a little.

"Do daddy know the mummy at the playground?" Lily who can remember a bit of their conversation seems so attracted to her. Zhang Feinan bit his lips. He stay silent for a while.

"She's an old friend." He can only give that as an answer. They were a lover once, but he don't know if she have ever love him.

"Mummy, it is daddy right? At the playground before." Ethan ask after they have done bathing. He knew the man before since Jiang Yili always hug his photo to bed. Jiang Yili can only put a smile on her face. A bitter smile.

"Yes, it's daddy." She took out the photo frame from the drawer at the bedside table. The photo of Zhang Feinan. The photo she took in secret in their five years of relationship. She smiled. There were more, but the one in the frame is her favorite one.

10 years before...

That day they have promised each other to meet at the usual place. The date she can't forget, the forth of April. Two years after he ask her to be his girl. That day, she arrived a bit early and wait at the entrance of the cafe for him.

After waiting for a few minutes she saw him heading to the cafe with a bunch of flowers in his hand. For some reason, he seems nervous. Jiang Yili can't help but immediately hide herself. When he reach the entrance, he stopped there for a while.

For the first time, she see him blushing. Zhang Feinan was blushing. That is when she took his photo. Zhang Feinan's blushing face and the flower in his hand. It was all a great memories.

"I know daddy don't know about me." Ethan said it as if he was okay with it. But she knows Ethan has been holding it up his sadness. She knows how it feels like having a perfect family at such age. Just like when her mother and father have a divorce when she was only five.

"Daddy will know about Ethan soon, and we will live with daddy one day." Jiang Yili is being serious about it. She has mustered all her courage these past seven years. Afterall, she feel good enough to be with him with what she have achieved at the moment.

For sure, she will try to connect with him again. Even if she isn't so sure he will accept her with an open arm, she have to try. Her achievement until now is for that reason. To be able to stand beside him without feeling insecure.

"But daddy has a daughter." Ethan remember the girl who cried with him. They have the same face that he thought maybe they got ot from the same dad. Jiang Yili bit her lips.

"Do you remember when mummy said Ethan has a twin sister?" Hearing that, there's a spark in his eyes. He remember what mummy said before.

"Is she my twin sister, mummy?" He asked excitedly. Jiang Yili smile and nodded. Seeing Ethan happy face, she can now be at ease. She is so grateful to have such an understanding son as Ethan.

Remembering the scene at the playground before, her heart ache a little. Seeing her daughter grew healthy, she feel relieved. Although she knows that Zhang Feinan won't abandone his own child, she can't help but to worry a little.

That day she gave birth to a twin six years ago, she have to make a hard decision. She was leaving overseas to future her study but to take care of both her children, she doesnt think she can make it with her condition. After two months, she left their daughter to Zhang Feinan without living a trace of herself.

She can only leave their daughter with a paternity test report in front of his house. She didn't left until he came home. It was on the Christmas night when she left her with him. As if their child was her Christmas gift for Zhang Feinan. A gift that can never be replaced.
