A bigger threat

Genesis fell on her bed. She let out a sigh of relief when she felt her body sink in the soft mattress. She closed her eyes and thought about what had happened not long ago. Her heart raced. She placed her hand on her chest and sighed. Her heart had been pounding through the whole ride home. She opened her eyes and looked up at the ceiling she touched the locket on her neck and played with it. She then closed her eyes again as the same scene repeated in her mind again and again.

"I may not be your first love but I can work on being your last"

"Gen I just wanted to inform you that I'm officially chasing after you."

Genesis froze in place.

'W-what did he just say?!'

Aiden smiled and turned her around. Genesis was so shocked that she only went along with it."Hold your hair up."He told her and she did as he said. He placed the locket around her neck. On the process he kissed her neck sending shivers down her spine. Finally he touched her hand and used it to let her hair back down.

"Don't worry I won't force you into anything you don't want. I simply wanted to let you know of my intentions towards you." He told her and Genesis turned back around. Her mouth slightly open. She closed it and swallowed. She then opened it to speak again.

"Hah that was ahem* I guess we should get going t-thank you."She passed by him and when their shoulders brushed pass each other he held her wrist to stop her."Take your time and consider it.I'll drive you to your apartment." He held her hand and walked her towards the car.

The whole ride they traveled in complete silence. While Genesis was still in shock and confusion Aiden asked himself whether he did something wrong or whether his techniques in confessing were not enough. He also wondered if it was too early. But then he convinced himself that he made the right choice since he only has two months to keep her by his side forever.

It felt like the greatest challenge he has ever been given. To add to his troubles Genesis had someone in her heart before. The first step would be making sure to help her properly heal so she can move on. He must make sure her heart will only have him from now on. As if this itself is not hard enough Genesis has a special character when it comes to love. She isn't necessarily dense but she does try to avoid such things. The right way to explain it would be that she simply chooses to be dense and refuses to admit she understands. This also has to do with the fact that she was betrayed before and to put the cherry on top she still has some scars that need healing.

"He was just joking right?" Genesis wondered out loud."Maybe because we are engaged he is trying to make me feel comfortable." She continued."No….I don't want it to be like that…." She clenched her fists and got up from her bed.

She walked towards her vanity and looked at the locket on her neck. She bit her lip and took it off."I should move on but not like this."She whispered to herself and placed the locket in a small golden box. She then walked out of her room and headed inside the kitchen.

She made a messy bun on her hair and put on an apron. She then started cooking. She made a two-person meal and set it up on the table. The set up itself looked amazing. The dishes looked and smelled like it came from a 5-star restaurant.

Genesis sighed and placed the utensils on the table. She took out her apron and washed her hands. She then sat down and started eating. She enjoyed the meal without much enthusiasm as she would on other occasions.

She would have long been a 5-star chef. With countless chains of restaurants across the world. She would be in magazines not for getting a business deal but for her cooking. Her restaurants would be the most popular and she would travel around the world to cook different cuisines.

Unfortunately, in this life she could never reach that goal. Her passion for cooking still lives but not the same determination.No matter how much she enjoys the office environment and the thrill of conquering the business world it would never match the feeling of cooking. At least she gets to cook now. Before she would never have the time to cook for herself and would have to do it secretly once in a while.

Now she had more freedom. At Least now she has a chance to at least get a bit close to that dream. After settling her grudges with her uncle's family she would create a Chain of restaurants under SY Industries. Even Though they don't work on that field she will enter it and do her best to succeed in it.

That would be killing two birds with one stone. She would save her Father's company from falling into her Uncle's hands and accomplish one of her desires.

If not for this deal her uncle would be the chairman of the company and her cousin CEO. Thankfully her mother's best friend who treats her like her daughter was left in charge as Chairwoman but that is temporary.

Since this deal took place her cousin can not fight for the CEO position until two months from now but Genesis is 200% sure they are already scheming to make sure she never sets foot on the company again.

They think they have long won because she disappeared from their sights two years ago but they don't realize that now she has matured and grown. She is now an even bigger threat than before.

In her heart she is very grateful for Aiden and the Millers. Her uncle kept his distance and so did her cousin these two years because they know how powerful the Millers are therefore breaking this deal is not in their capabilities.

Genesis took the last mouthful of food and took a sip of her water. She looked nowhere in particular, deep in her thoughts.

After a long time of thinking she got up and picked up the dishes."I will ignore him for now…...at least until my stupid crush is over."She decided with determination.

She took another sip of the water and placed the empty dishes in the dishwasher. She decided to leave the extra food and use it for lunch the next day.

After eating she went inside her study room and decided to investigate her Uncle's family and their recent activities.
