A Shadow of Doubt

Melody looked at Morgan with a steady gaze and a faint grin at the corners of her lips. Her answer was a little bit amusing, but there was also a spark of purpose in it.

"Well," she said, her voice laced with a mix of anticipation and confidence, "I think it's your move this time."

Her question lingered in the air, giving Morgan a look of hesitation. His commitment to Sarah, his engagement to her, and the weight of their past made him feel bad.

Morgan let out a deep sigh and looked away for a moment before turning back to look at Melody. As he tried to make sense of how complicated their position was, he was clearly struggling.

"I... I don't know, Mel," he finally responded, his voice tinged with hesitation. "My commitment to Sarah... it's something I can't just ignore. I have responsibilities, and I don't want to hurt her."

Melody knew the tangled web of emotions they were caught in, the delicate balance they had to maintain.
