Chapter 264: Hold me

Emily's POV

I had my feet planted firmly on the ground. It was the only thing keeping me standing as relief and gratitude flooded me like a wave in a stormy day.

I watched our daughter run her little fingers all over his face before she looked right at me.

"Mama!" She yelled but she didn't run towards me. She stayed with him like she was unwilling to part with her father.

I got there as fast as I could, scooped her up into a tight embrace.

"C-can't breathe, Mama" she told me.

I loosened my grip and pressed a kiss to her temple. "I am grateful for you…Mama's grateful, baby. I love you…so much"

I placed her on her feet and went to my husband. He was still very weak and he tried not to move so much.

"Hey" he whispered and tried to smile.

"Don't you ever do that to me, again!" I screamed at him before pressing my lips to his.

The sound of the chopper as it landed on the island drowned most of the things we said.
