Chapter 77 - Playing it cool

Jai anxiously pranced around in his room. As soon as he heard footsteps coming upstairs, he jetted out, dragging Yunfeng into his room. "What did they talk to you about…"

Yunfeng glumly gazed at him. "About the world ending…." He sighed and sat on his friend's bed.

"Fine, if you don't want to tell me," Jai rolled his eyes and sat down next to him. "So…."

"Can we talk about something else? I don't want to think of negative thoughts." Right now, all he wanted to do was forget about the incoming doom. He had done everything he could to prepare for it. All that was left to be done was move his family to the outskirts. That too he would do right before the war began.

There was nothing much to be done.

"Do you really like that Muchen?" Jai whispered ever so silently.

Yunfeng's gaze fell on him. "Yeah… I like him very much. He makes me feel… something in here." He patted his chest. "I've never had these feelings before."

In his past life, he was nothing but a beta for the most part. He had many romantic partners who pursued him, but he never got the tingles as he did for Muchen. It made his whole body feel like it was floating.

It was the best feeling ever.

This thought alone put a smile on his face. "He is the best."

"He is an actor, you know… well, actors have to kiss and hug strangers for a living. So are you really sure about him?"

Yunfeng sat up. "I'm hundred percent sure. No, two hundred percent sure of this." Because he knew that they both shared a pheromone connection.

Anyone with such a strong pheromone connection finds it hard to stay away from each other. In fact, if one partner passed away, the other would even pass away from a heartbreak. That is how strong an alpha's and omega's pheromone connection was.

They still hadn't bonded yet, so the connection was not that intense.

Yunfeng blushed at that thought. 'Ahhhh…. We… we might have sex someday. How will that feel? I bet it would feel amazing.'

A flash of Muchen's pale white hands came to his thoughts.

He couldn't help but have a reaction.

Subtly, he pulled a pillow to his lap. "He is the one, Jai. And we will be happy." He giggled softly.

Jai sighed and rolled his eyes. "You youngsters fall in love too soon."

"Eh hey, you talk as if you are an old man!"

"I'm an old soul. There is a difference." Jai playfully smacked his head. "Besides, I was only asking to make sure you had intense feelings for that guy. 'Cause I know he does. I was there when he was planning that beach date for you. Boy, that man has it bad for you."

Yunfeng sat up. "Seriously? You think he loves me?"

"Hmm, let's talk about something else. I feel a wave of scent coming from you that is very uncomfortable to sniff." Jai cupped his nose with a grimace.

Yunfeng sniffed his armpits. "I don't stink…"

"You stink when you talk about him," Jai said casually and went to the bookshelf. "How's your college entrance exam preparation coming about?"

"Hmmm…. It's okay." He hadn't even started it. Yunfeng grimaced. He was pretty sure the war would begin a few months after the exam. What is the use of studying for it?

"I'm done with physics, but I'm still lagging a bit behind in math. How do you do this one?"

Yunfeng helped him out with his meager knowledge.

They studied for about an hour and then went on to play video games.
