94 Son-Tuul

I was only home for a few days before I received a direct bounty offer.

It was from the Hutt Cartel. Luckily, Furia had just returned from one of her hunt for a Weequay scum. Arla was in the Mandalore sector cleaning up an alien gang under a contract.

It was agreed that one of us must always be on Myrkr to take care of the children. Leaving them with a nanny android is only done when necessary. I took care of them while Furia and Arla were out. Now Furia will take over.

The specifics is about killing a singular bounty hunter. An Umbaran assassin. Which is working under the Son-Tuul pride crime syndicate based on the planet Son-Tuul. A syndicate with a strong foundation, but still new on the block. It can barely claim to control criminal activity for their sector. The Umbaran assassin is being used against the Hutts.

They want to use their own people to teach them their place. However, they need the assassin gone. As any leader they send with a contingent force is killed by her.

The Umbaran seems like an interesting mark. Therefore, I will accept the bounty.

This assassin has around 12 years of experience. A decent career with a 80% success rate. She kills at night exclusively and only uses blades. Typically a small blade to a vital area. Therefore, she is a master at stealth at the least. It is difficult to get close for the kill in the galaxy.

I encountered Furia as I left my workshop. As I was working on a new weapon, Smartwire. I thought back to wire fighters I've seen in anime during my human life. While my nets are effective. Using wire techniques in battle and to capture people is just more stylish. At my current level, I can afford to be stylish.

"I felt that you were on the move. New prey catch your attention?", she asked me.

"Yes, an Umabaran Assassin. She should be a master of Stealth from what has been learned about her. I expect a good chase.", I say.

She hums, "Well, it does sound fun. Tracking people down is too easy once you know how. It can make a hunt boring. I honestly prefer going after animals for this reason. They at least know how to hide or run effectively in their environment. Have fun then."

She then walks off.

I put on my armor and leave Myrkr in a scout ship. Son-Tuul is in the outer rim so it takes a few hours. It is a forested planet with jungles and mountains all over. One of my favorite type of environments. If it was in the mid rim or a core world then it would undoubtedly be a prosperous world. However, it is in the outer rim. It's thick woods and may mountains are used by criminals. They hide, move contraband, and build hidden bases all over. Truly a waste of potential.

It made it easy for me land on the planet. The Son-Tuul Pride base was not located within a city. Instead, they had a hallowed out mountain base near the capital city of Son-Ruu.

They were sloppy though. As a scan of the mountain revealed many entrances that were not monitored, developed, or probably even known. I have many ways to enter their base. The assassin should be inside. If not, I'll be able to find out where she is.

I hopped off my hovering scout ship on their mountaintop. Then it went to land nearby. I went over to a cracked rock surface. I placed my palm on it and let out a small push with the Force. It fully cracked revealing an aptly sized tunnel I could use. I went inside and traveled through it.

When I came out the other side, I was on the ceiling. I climbed out and started walking on the rocky ceiling. This was inspired by the ninjas of the Shinobi World of Naruto. The Force can be used to achieve anything. So why I can't walk on the ceiling? Once I got the idea to replicate this from the ninja, it was easy to develop.

Arla especially loved this surface walking ability. As she often used a rifle when not using her whip to kill. It allowed her to get into advantageous positions easily.

Beneath me, various aliens were moving around crates. Guards were patrolling and so on. A typical criminal operation of this scale. There were even the cliche Twi'lek slaves.

This was a common work area. Nothing for me to discover here. I need access to where the assassin would be. Which should be some barracks type of space.

Luckily, the Son-Tuul Pride thought it convenient to put up direction signs. I left the ceiling and followed the signs on the ground in a leisure walk. They only had basic cameras for security. I only detected motion sensors outside of the base. A bad security choice.

I made it to the barracks and it had separate areas for different ranks. The mercs had the smallest area of all. I went there and it was mostly empty except for a handful of mercs resting. The assassin had a room for herself here.

"At least I didn't have to look around too much." I thought.

I switch to x-ray vision to check inside, and the room is empty. I enter the room after I make sure no one is around. There are only a few item, but I only need one. The room is Then I can use the Force to track her down through her connection with said item.

I saw a scarf and used it to sniff out the connection. It was adequate and now I have a trail to follow.

She was close enough, that I knew that she was still inside this base.

"I should make it fair to her.", I murmur in my mind.
