A New Friend

A few days passed, and since then a whole new year has arrived.

Mom, Sis Selaine, and Renia had all left after sending me, and as we departed, I cried knowing that I could only see them a month later.

It's hard for me, but I need to be strong for myself and all of them. Otherwise, it would be a mockery after making all of these decisions so far.

But...I never thought that the Guild would be this huge.

I mean look at it, just its entrance alone is enough to make my eyes hurt from just looking at how tall it is.

I'm a bit nervous and scared about what's to come, but at the same time, I'm excited about what kind of future I would have.

Still, looking around there were lots of awakeners walking in and I guess that they were either the new batch or the regular ones.

As I took my first step into this academy, I entered the entrance which led me into a hall where there were hundreds of awakeners.

Some of them were in silence, some of them started to bond with friends and some were like me and were a bit stiff.

Immediately, I sat down on a chair and waited.

At this point, I didn't know what to do and it felt awkward just being around.

I could only maintain silence before the Speech Entrance conducted by the Head Guild would begin.

"Hey you, what's your name?" All of the sudden, there was a voice called out to me.

As I turned my head, wondering where the voice came from, I was stunned by how beautiful this girl looked.

I know and I'm confident that moms and my 2 sisters' beauties were unrivaled and believe me if I say that it was hard to search for a woman who's up to par.

But this doubt had been shattered, as the girl before me was undoubtedly pretty.

But that was all to it.

"My name's Daniel, what's yours?"

I replied with a friendly smile.

Though it had been a long time since I conversed with anyone other than my family, I could still form a simple conversation.

"The name's Tilia" She replied with a smile.

With silvery hair and red eyes, she's a beauty that would make anyone breathless.

But what's interesting about her appearance is the fact she has small cute fangs.

And the pupils of her eyes that was a bit sharp.

But for some reason, I was drawn into her eyes. It was as if...I'm being drowned by it...and If I make any mistake...I could feel like my mind being control.

What am I thinking? Am i just too nervous?

"So...where are you from? I'm from a faraway planet called Varetia" She curiously asked.

"A planet that homed vampires and if that's not obvious enough, I got fangs you see?" She introduced herself playfully.

Though I seemed a bit surprised, I had guessed that she perhaps belongs to a different race judging from her appearance.

"I'm simply a citizen of this empire and if that's not obvious enough, I've got no interesting physique you see?"

I joked as there wasn't anything extraordinary about my physical appearance.

"Pfft. I didn't expect that, but that was funny"

The girl, Tilia, never expected a student like me to joke around her, but for some reason, it lightened her mood and freshened her mind.

She chuckled for a while before she smiled weirdly, as though she found something interesting and precious.

It might be my overthinking that I thought her smile was creepy for a moment.

"I'm a bit curious about what class you will be attending in the future"

"Were you informed of your future class? In this Guild, all awakeners are split respectively into 5 Categories which are Class 5, 4,3, 2, and 1, and each number is separated into 1A, 1B, 1C, or 1D" She said.

"If I'm not wrong I belonged to the 1A Class"

Tilia was curious about his class and after answering her question, she became delighted by the answer as though she had found a friend that could accompany her throughout this course.

But this was more than curious and it seems like she had found someone interesting at least.

"Really!? I'm in the same class too. What a coincidence!" She exclaimed with excitement, her cheerful smile adorned with a cute pair of revealed fangs.

Witnessing her infectious enthusiasm, Daniel found himself unable to resist the urge to smile in response.

He didn't know anyone there, but meeting this friendly girl offered some hope that he wouldn't feel too out of place once the course began.

"So, Tilia, what led you to join this guild?"

Daniel inquired, genuinely curious about her aspirations.

"Hmm..."

Tilia took a moment to contemplate his question, and after a brief pause, she finally responded.

"I suppose you could say I'm here to explore and enhance my own skills, and perhaps, in the process, build relationships I never knew I needed."

Her response conveyed a sense of introspection, as if she were still in the process of clarifying her goals.

"I see, that's impressive," Daniel remarked, genuinely impressed by her mindset as he found himself comparing it to his own.

With a slight smile, Tilia finally asked, "So, what's your motivation for joining this guild?"

It was her turn to inquire, and he had been eagerly awaiting this moment since posting the same question to her earlier.

"My ambition is quite straightforward, really. I just want to make my parents proud,"

Daniel replied with an innocent, wide smile.

Strangely, Tilia was left stunned by his answer.

Her body froze, and her pupils contracted, an unexpected reaction to his smile.

"Tilia, are you alright? You seem a bit distant,"

Daniel attempted to reassure her, snapping his fingers gently in an effort to help her regain her composure.

"Y-Yes, I'm fine," she quickly replied, attempting to mask her earlier reaction.

Daniel chuckled softly at her response.

"Anyway," she continued, "the guild's president is about to arrive, so we should pay attention and look forward to the event."

"Yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to it," Daniel affirmed with a smile.

And the moment the president of the guild walked over to the stage, Daniel became stunned.

''Please welcome, the president of the guild and the ruler of the Empire, Empress Layla''

When the host announced the arrival of the Empress, all of them began clapping their hands and the crowds turned into chaos.
