Sh*tty Middle School

The boy yawned. Class had already begun and he couldn't take it. He had already learned this crap as a toddler, he couldn't wait to go back home and work on his latest programming project. He found acting dumb to fit in class boring.

Unfortunately, there was little else he could do. When he had joined this school, he used to be his normal self, and the only thing he got were weird looks and bullying. He wasn't one to take in bullying though, and gave back a good kick when he could, but after a few complaints that he was beating up other students (the irony) he got blasted by the shopkeeper and told to act dumb. He learned his lesson then.

This didn't mean that there wouldn't be the occasional idiot looking to flex nonexistent muscles. This was a world with supers after all, there would be some dumb idiots who would awaken and try to show off, and this manner of showing off took the form of a convoluted redrawing of darwinism.

"Hey 'dumbass' get the f*** here! You've run rampant enough, it's time to bring order to this school!" The occasional idiot would scream at him, but end up beaten up anyway, powers or not. This boy had suffered through the beatings of his family since he was born, these kids couldn't brawl with him, whether they awakened their powers or not. Over time the kids stopped paying attention to him and he was considered the biggest delinquent in class.

The boy didn't particularly mind, he preferred being left alone as he pretended to be extra number 33 in class, acting dumb and average.

Two and a half years of middle school would pass in such a manner, and he didn't expect anything remarkable to happen. The boy simply wanted to go to a better high school, but considering the fact that he had already studied high school materials and was working on university materials, he didn't have much hope any high school would even fit him.

And so the remaining half year of middle school too would pass inconsequentially right? Fart! In this half year he would have the biggest turning point. The idiot fell in love with a high school girl!

This high school girl was not particularly a head turner, yet somehow this boy fell for her. A group of high school boys with abilities had decied it would be a good idea to beat him up and unfortunately this time the boy couldn't resist their punches. As he was bleeding everywhere swearing he would take revenge, the girl suddenly appeared and thrashed the boys, saving him.

Her worry towards him made him fall for her, but the girl saw him as nothing more than a kid. He kept trying to woo her, but irritated, the girl blew him off.

"You are just a kid to me, stop following me like a leech." The girl said irritated.

Heart broken, the boy passed his days in shock and sadness, wallowing in stupid sad songs and being all emo.

"Hahaha! Stupid boy! Who would marry you with your rotten personality?" The shopkeeper laughed at him.

"Rotten personality my ass! Who was it who raised me? You are rotten! Your whole family is rotten!" The boy shouted at the man.

"Brat! Give up your royal dreams of courting those superheroes, our lives are too far from them. It would be different if you had your own ability, but you are an idiot! idiots don't get abilities..." The shopkeeper lectured his junior.

"Idiot my ass! You made me act an idiot in class!"

the boy angrily retorted.

Right then outside the street of the shop a brawl had begun and people started running away. A few shops got vandalized as two gangs began fighting.

"Kid, you see that? This is what happens when you become a rogue. Don't waste time on love and work on getting intelligence so you can get out of this slum."

"Old fart, why are you so irritating? Look some heroes have come to solve the matter." the boy mumbled.

"Heroes? They look like school kids, seems like they keep getting younger each year."

On the street three heroes who were in high school arrived.

"Stop! Do not create chaos, we are on patrol!" one of the heroes, a girl, shouted with authority.

"Stop, my ass!" the two gangs fighting screamed. They picked up rocks from the street and started pelting it on the heroes.

"Stop! Or we will retaliate!" The hero said, but before she could complete, another of the heroes just let out a blast of fire on the two gangs.

"No!" The girl screamed, however it was too late. The two gangs had been burned severely and were lying on the ground, a few shops also caught fire from the blast of heat.

"Let's leave!" the third one exclaimed, as the entire street looked at the three, anger on their faces. As they quickly made their way out of the slums, people started coming out to help the burned victims.

"This is what happens when you meddle with those foolish superheroes." The shopkeeper wisely said, as the boy looked on. "This isn't even the first time. Wait for these people to go protest now, I wonder how the rogues will even pay for the medical costs? Let them apply this leaf extract onto their skin."

The boy nodded as he did as was told. The rogues were brought outside his shop where they were laid on, resting.

"These heroes sure know how to make a mess. We should protest against them." Some slum dwellers shouted.

"No point. They are protected by the government, not to mention those were hero kids, most probably have powerful families." A few others grumbled before glumly returning back to their shop.

The boy couldn't care less about this event. He had seen this kind of thing happen his entire life in the slums. The people get angry, but cannot do anything.
