chapter 3: training

"Arana, are we done yet? I'm pretty sure that the two of us are tired." James said

"What do you mean?" she asked

"Well Duncan is asleep and Denzil is too it seems." James said

"But companions aren't able to sleep?" Arana asked

"That's what I said." James said

"Well, I guess we can rest." Arana said

So they were sitting there and they all fell asleep but their companions.

"This one is very strange." Clara said as she pointed to Denzil

"That's right." Mili said

"Well let's just let them rest, they have a long road in front of them." Wateru said

"Mom, why won't you help him?" Young Duncan asked

"He told me not to, he wants to keep us safe." she said

"But they keep hurting him." Duncan said

"Duncan come on get up!" James was yelling

"Uh. What is it?" Duncan asked as he got up

"Arana gave a suggestion." James said

"What is the suggestion?" Duncan asked

"We should train to swap weapons." Arana said

"Why?" Duncan asked

"So we can be unpredictable in the tournament." Arana said

"Wait where are our weapons?" Duncan asked

"Oh, they went to grab food for us." James said

"Alright I have a question, do you think companions have the ability to alter memories?" Duncan asked

"Don't think so but it could be possible. Why?" Arana asked

"There are parts that are missing or gone in my memory." Duncan said

All students go back to class!

"I guess that's our cue." James said

"Wait what about the food?" Duncan asked

"Sorry guys!" Denzil yelled as he came over

"Well, I guess we can go hungry for lunch." James said

"Well come on let's get going!" Arana said as she started running

"Hey wait for us!" Duncan said as he started running after her

They got back to class. (upper class is not in the lower class)

"Alright now everyone take your seat and I will tell you what we are going to do." the teacher said

They all sat down and looked at him.

"Today we will train with your weapons." he said

"Please no more training." James whispered

"Do you have something to add James?" the teacher asked

"No!" James yelled

"Well let's get out there! Now you'll be fighting each other in free for all." The teacher said

They went outside and transformed their weapons (Travis: Contract name: zayde Owner: Bartz, Luna: Contract name: Jayn Owner: Lily, Denzil: Contract name: Yuki Owner: Duncan, Mili: Contract name: leaf Owner: James, Clara: Contract name: ava Owner: James)

"Anyone that falls to the ground you are out. Now begin!" the teacher said as he put his hand in the air then put it straight down

(all the weapons have fake things and swords have covers on them)

"Hey look, the first years are doing free for all!" someone yelled as they came up to the window

"Lily out." the teacher yelled

"Oh, man." Lily said as she walked out

"Don't worry Lily you'll get them next time." Luna said

"Bartz out!" the teacher yelled

"Come on!" Bartz yelled in the air

"It's just you and me now." Duncan said as he was holding one sword and the other one behind him

"Why isn't his other sword out?" Arana asked herself

"You ready!" Duncan yelled as he pulled out the other sword

"Alright then." James said as Duncan came running at him

But then the bell rang and they stopped.

"Aw man, I thought we could fight." James said

"Maybe next time boys." the teacher said as he came over to them

"Were you waiting to see their power, Arana?" Hazel asked as she came over to her

"Yes and no." she said

"Well come on let's get back to class." Hazel said as she walked off

"Alright." Arana said as she followed her
