Chapter 54 Not Your Average Human.

(Jin's P.O.V)

"Any ideas?"

I asked Zoren. He looked at me and shook his head as if looking at an idiot.

"What?"

I inquired, a bit miffed at his expression.

"You want to run both of our minds rugged trying to come up with a way to increase the rate of time in a localized area just to get the device to decode the Omnitrix's blueprints faster?"

I nodded.

"Get to the point."

He brought his hands to his temples and rubbed.

"You have a bloody universe at your whim. You can make the clouds change into cheese. The literal incarnation of Canaan with honey and rivers of milk. Should I continue?"

I coughed lightly and looked to the side. Why didn't I think of that? All I had to do was just increase the speed of time. The control I had over my universe essentially granted me that ability. I snapped a finger and just like that night and day started transitioning in a blur. We didn't age because we were spiritual entities and the Tablet was sustained through the energy in the air and built to last.

50 years went by in a flash and I stared at the Tablet in my hand. The decoding was done.

"It's over."

Zoren nodded.

"I see. Then we're gonna need an expert to build the thing. Not to mention the materials…lucky enough you just need the d.n.a scanning part."

I sighed.

"Doesn't mean it's gonna be easy however. Convincing the guy I'm going to see is probably going to be one of the hardest things I have ever done."

We made our way to the cabin as we talked about my next plan. I cast out my awareness over the planet and felt the animal population had increased some more. Also, Atlantis was overlooking a cliff near a massive lake some 10 kilometers away from my cabin. With Zoren and my help we had renovated the place. The blood vines surrounded the city but deep underground. A trail led from my cabin to the city through a beautiful garden and a path with cobblestones. The city was empty currently but I had a plan on how to deal with that.

"How reliable is he?"

I snorted at Zoren's simple question.

"As far from reliable as it gets. He is the type to fuck over everybody just because he can or if suits him. His allies usually get the short end of the stick more often than even his enemies. That's not to mention, his narcissistic, arrogant and self-centered personality. His only saving grace is that he's self-aware of his faults, admits them sometimes and helps when his family is in danger. The only reason I'm even going for him is because he's the smartest mortal I know."

Zoren looked at me from the corner of his eyes.

"Sounds like more trouble than he's worth."

I sighed and nodded.

"On that note, if he's as intelligent as you say, then why go for the Omnitrix in the first place when you could have just commissioned him to build you a d.n.a collecting device from the ground up instead? It doesn't seem like such a huge deal."

I hummed in agreement.

"You're right but I know the price for asking him to do it would be too much as compared to him putting the device together by following the steps I provide."

" Sounds like …"

"An ass? A Bastard? An Opportunist? He's that and worse."

"I was going to say, he sounds like a shrewd man."

A dumbfounded look appeared on my face.

"Oh."

With that we didn't speak, anymore. I meditated for a few hours and watched the sunset. Then I abruptly disappeared from my position. I was going to see Rick from the Rick and Morty universe so I needed to especially center myself before the encounter.

I appeared inside a normal looking garage. Normal at first sight but I knew the racks of weapons, displays of unfinished and finished experiments and other frightful inventions hiding behind the facade. I heard the screech of tires as a car made its way out of the suburban house I'd found myself in. Then someone burped.

"Who…who are you supposed to be dickwad?"

A pickle with a face asked me from the table. I aimed for the time Rick turns himself into a pickle because he would be left alone at home by Morty and the others so it wasn't out of my expectations.

I pulled up a chair and sat on it. A current instantly run through my body and I looked on incredulously as it failed to do anything.

"Initiate code 28."

I heard Rick say before I could do anything and instead decided to watch what was gonna happen.

The stairs broke off to form a droid with plasma blades all over it's body. It jumped at me but I seized it out of the air and atomized it. A laser grid covered the whole room and started closing in on us from all sides.

"Yeah. You're gonna wish you're dead motherfucker! That's…that's what you get for messing with Pickle Rick."

Drool escaped his green vegetable face and I rolled my eyes speaking for the first time.

"The lasers will also cut you into pieces too asshole."

"Suck on my…Suck on my chlorophyllic ass."

I remotely destroyed the laser control points by sending out my awareness, subverting the attack. A whoosh! And pink vapour was sprayed onto my face.

"What…how did you get a gas mask?"

I wondered while looking at the Rick. I pulled all the gas into my palm and froze it. Then I atomized the chunk of pink ice. An hour of failed attacks later, I got bored.

"Ok that's enough. We need to talk."

"Sorry, I'm not into what you're selling even if it's boobs with nipples that can play a mean guitar and...and make coffee. Mmh exactly like the one found in Coffee Toffee world."

He looked at my dumbfounded look and sighed.

"Morty would get it. Fucking family therapy. House, note down, assassinate the therapist some time in the future."

"Noted."

A robotic voice sounded from all around us and I stepped on the urge to to shout in frustration. Instead, my eyes lit up as an idea came to me. It clearly wasn't going to work with Rick like this so I needed an incentive. There was little he liked more than booze. So what if I got him that premium 'knock a man out in pico-seconds shit'?

I disappeared suddenly and found myself before a bridge of gold.

"Who are you?"

Heimdal the god who kept watch of the nine realms instantly looked wary at my presence. It seems fitting to mention that he looked exactly like Idris Elba. His peculiar eyes made it seem as if he could look through me. I cleared my throat.

"Sorry about barging in like this but I just need something from Asgard then I'll be off."

A formation formed under us and he was left stunned in place. Not quite a rune that froze time but instead it hardened space. In its effect, the subject wouldn't be able to move. He would still breath as usual and think but he couldn't do anything else.

From there I stepped foot on the golden bridge and then flew towards Asgard. I shifted light to hide me and used the air to muffle any sounds to hide me as I crossed the streets of the city of gods. Asgard was weird. The lighting was off and there was an undercurrent of energy that wasn't quite magic nor divine energy. It felt like a mishmash of both. A strange concept because in the Arrow-verse magic and divine energy clashed. It wasn't enough to through me off my game however. If I'd learned anything from having my own universe, is that the laws were different in each dimension.

The Asgardians were strong and decently attractive. And their culture was especially marvelling. A mixture of cold weapons and tools and technologically advanced innovations that would have left even the smartest of Earth's scientists aghast, well not counting Tony Stark, Reed Richards, Victor Von Doom and basically every other genius in the Marvel universe. Which is where I currently was. Although this was just the M.C.U. I wasn't here to sight see however so I made my way to the Palace.

I didn't skip a beat or waste a minute stepping inside the huge building made of gleaming material. Up close it looked even more majestic than I'd pictured. The halls were bare though and I once again cast my awareness out and felt a few strong presences and a massively powerful one in the middle of the palace. However the presence felt tranquil. Like an undisturbed well of water. Must be Odin in his Odin-sleep.

I walked the halls, nearing one of the strong presences I'd felt. I turned a corner and Loki appeared in my sight. He stopped for a bit and looked baffled which... surprised me and at the same didn't. You see, I'd expected him to at least be able to detect my presence but to see me? Loki must be a better sorcerer than I'd thought. He instantly went on guard and two daggers appeared in his hands.

"I can see your shimmering form. Reveal yourself intruder and pray to the mercies of The All father that I Loki, the prince of Asgard spares your life."

Oh so he didn't actually see through my disguise. On another note, What grandstanding! Truly a god of theatrics.

The disguise fell off me as I revealed myself.

"Can't someone break in without getting found out these days?"

I sighed in a little frustration.

"Honestly. You'd think I'd go to all this trouble for the treasures of Odin's Vault but no, I'm only here for a little beer to appease a drunkard who's also a genius scientist to do something for me. Why is this day becoming so troublesome!"

Amidst his confusion Loki looked at me with something akin to victory in his eyes.

"You're out of luck human. Whatever it is you were planning shall be thwarted by my..."

Bam! I kicked him on the chest and he flew away to the other end of the hall like a ragdoll. Boom. He impacted the huge double doors and slammed on to a portrait depicting a picture of Thor, Loki and the warrior 3 fighting Rock giants. The stone crumbled into pieces but held while Loki was left wheezing in place.

"You talk like you're rehearsing a play. And trust me, I'm not your average human."

I blurred forward as an outline of divine water formed around my body in thin separated rivulets. Fully applying the Flow for the first time against an opponent that wasn't Zoren. My fist made contact with Loki and went through him. Whatever was left of the wall was gone in a shower of dust and pieces of building materials. My foot lashed out and broke the wrist held high for Loki to stab me on the head. He grunted and disappeared again.

I cocked my head to the side to dodge a dagger controlled by magic before a fireball formed at the tip of my finger and sped forward cutting a line of destruction through the hall I had come across. The walls on the far side melted into nothing as my fireball exploded. I winced in a little embarrassment. That had gotten way out of hand.

Loki lay off to the side having dodged that attack but looking completely terrified.

"What...are you? You're not a normal human. No human can do that!"

I almost shrugged but abandoned that to hold my hand out. Boooom! On a 50 meter radius everything was thrown away as I caught the hammer, Mjolnir. A figure came flying in from the hole on the wall I had just destroyed and surveyed the scene.

"Prepare for death."

Chris Hemsw...I mean Thor told me with Fury and Lightning shining in his eyes.

"Is it too late to say sorry? I feel like this situation escalated too quickly."
