1 Beginning of a journey

It's been over 10 years since the war between devils and angels. Humans were forced to just stand by and watch their earth be used as a war zone. Instinctively, humans jumped in the fight to preserve their planet, eventually the demons and angels got bored of fighting and left earth alone. But before leaving earth some demons and angels mated with humans giving the generations to come, powers. The half demons were called the hell-sent and the half angels were called the heaven-sent.

Over a billion humans died leaving many kids without parents. The government offered to give them the bare minimum of food and a small apartment until they could go to military school to train if demons or angels decided to come back.

One of those unlucky kids were Zeb Loft, he was a regular human who knew nothing about his family as they died shortly after his birth.

One thing he did have though was his sword skills, after becoming sick and tired of his daily routine he joined a sword dojo and quickly rose to the top. The owners of the dojo regarded him as family, helping him in any way they could.

Training with his sword made him really happy as he had nothing else to do.

One night a couple of heaven-sent caught notice of the dojo and got an idea. heaven and hell-sent always saw humans as inferior to them and would torture them anytime they could. In the morning the dojo was burnt to the ground with everyone inside except for Zeb who forgot to set his alarm the night before and was still sleeping in.

After the incident, Zeb spiraled into depression and didn't leave his house for months. He became a husk of his former self, his eyes were devoid of life. He despised both heaven and hell-sent and even humans because of how weak they were.

One day Zeb heard a knock on the door but didn't answer it, over time the knock became even louder, he went to go open the door with a huge sigh. He looks down to see an old hunchbacked lady looking up to him.

"I've finally found you, my lord," she says as she pulls a ring out of her pocket and gives it to Zeb. He takes it and slams the door on her face.

"Crackheads these days man"

He looks down at the golden ring with a big red ruby in the middle.

"Hmm… doesn't look too bad," he says while putting it on.

He noticed that when he would get mad the ring would let off a small red glow. He just thought it was a ring infused with an enchantment and didn't worry about it.

Zeb's 18th birthday was tomorrow so he was required to start military school.

After a couple of days wearing the ring it had attached to his skin making it apart of his body, at first he was scared but after a couple months he stopped caring.

Zeb had trained a lot for the day he had to start military school. One thing that wasn't burned from the dojo was a swordsman scroll with a technique that only the owners could use. He took the scroll and learned it in honor of the past owners.

<swift slash>

Focusing on nothing but your sword and enemy, swift slash allows a quick slash that cannot be seen by all humans and some low level heaven/hell-sent.

Consumes a lot of stamina.

Zeb packs all of his bags and sits down on his couch, he looks at his ring and sighs, "I really hope your useful.

Zeb wakes up from a loud knock from his door. "Zeb Loft you have 30 minutes to get ready and come out!"

He gets from out his bed, showers, eats, and grabs his sword.

The instructor knocks again to tell him his time is up, Zeb walks over to the door and opens it to see a tall lady in a red and black suit holding a notebook.

"Heh I hope they also got me a birthday cake" Zeb says in his head.

He gives the lady a fake smile, "well let's be on our way then."
