King Alexander

With a radiant smile on her face Lexi picked up the next gift and began to read the card out loud again."From Uncle James to my favorite blue eyed girl." Glancing up from the card ,she gives her Uncle a loving smile and proceeds to unwrap the gift. It was a beautiful red leather address book with a small golden plaque in the center. Her initials had been engraved on the small plaque in beautiful script. Uncle James looked at her with a gentle smile on his kind face letting her know the purpose of the gift . "For your convenience the phone numbers and addresses for each of us has already been entered." He said gesturing with his hand towards all of her family in the room. "Just in case you lose your cell phone or perhaps you just want to send an old fashioned letter to one of us." Lexi smiled brightly ,glancing around the room at each of her family members and without directly saying it, she let them know they would soon be receiving an invitation to her wedding. "Well I guess now that I'm older all important letters and invitations can't be sent by text. I'm sure this will be useful in my near future. Thank you Uncle James , it's a wonderful gift ." She said ,placing the address book on top of the books her father gave her and moving on to the next gift. "This gift is from Karmen," she announced as she reached inside the silver gift bag and pulled out a fluffy wool pink turtleneck sweater . "Thank you Karmen ." "Lexi I know it's summer but King Alexander's castle is high in the mountains and it gets really cold up there. I have heard even in the summer time the temperature can drop down to fifty degrees and sometimes cooler at night. So please take some warm clothes with you." "I have already thought of that ,don't worry I have lots of warm clothes packed already."she assured Karmen as she put the pink sweater back in the gift bag and placed it beside the other gifts. She reached over to get the next gift off the table. Ripping the tie -dyed wrapping paper off opening the gift . It was a hand made cookbook with pressed flowers on the front of it. Her Aunt Monica had a look of concerned on her beautiful face before explaining the purpose of her gift."Lexi darling I know you're not a picky eater but I have been told that Vampires never eat vegetables. This cookbook has your favorite vegetables dishes in it. Perhaps King Alexander will be kind enough to have the kitchen staff cook some of them for you." "Thank you Aunt Monica , I will be sure to ask him to do that." She gave her aunt Monica a reassuring smile and placed the cook book on top of the other books. Lexi reached over to the table and picked up a large box wrapped in white paper with a big red ribbon tied around it , glancing over at Ethan she giggled" This gift is from Ethan, and I think I already know what it is , you are so sly Ethan." she ripped the white paper off and pulled the box open to reveal a pair of brown leather ankle boots with a fur lining inside . Smiling at Ethan , she told the story about the boots to everyone. "I saw these boots in a small shop when Ethan and I went skiing back in the winter . Unfortunately I had left my debit card in the resort .When I returned with my card the boots had already been purchased by someone else. Now I know who that someone was .Your a sly fox Ethan." She chuckled placing the boots with her other gifts. She was down to her last gift . She reached for the box on the table ,but the card had no name on it . She ask her family who the gift was from ,but nobody seemed to know . She read the card on the mysterious gift .Which was of no help. All the card said was open the gift in private . She placed it with her other gifts and headed to her bedroom to pack her gifts with her luggage . She didn't open the mystery gift, because it was getting close to the time for King Alexander to arrive. They had a long drive a head of them and Lexi was sure King Alexander would want to leave as soon as possible. She took the mystery gift and packed it with the rest of her gifts. Then she went back downstairs to spend the rest of her time with her family. Time passed quickly and everyone seemed to be getting sad and the room became quite and gloomy . Lexi panicked and feared her mother was going to break down and start to cry. Thinking fast she broke the silence and reassured everyone she would be fine. " I don't want anyone to worry about me I will be okay. King Alexander and I have been talking about this for two years now. I talk to him every day and we have gotten to know each other quite well. He has also assured daddy that extra security has already been put in place ." As Lexi was speaking a Castle maid entered the room and announced the arrival of King Alexander. King Charles quickly left the luxurious setting room with Lexi and her mother right behind him. They strolled down the hallway towards the front of the castle and entered a lavish receiving room for VIP guest . Upon entering the room King Alexander stood up for the dark brown leather arm chair he was setting in and took a couple of steps forward. King Charles extended his hand offered King Alexander a firm hand shake immediately introducing Queen Victoria to him . King Alexander took the queen's hand and placed a respectable kiss on the back of her palm with a pleasant greeting " Queen Victoria its a pleasure to meet you." " Your Majesty , it's nice to finally meet you too." Queen Victoria greeted with a small curtsy. Lexi also curtsied to King Alexander flashing him a dazzling smile. Making him grin mischievously at her. Noticing the young couples flirtatious actions King Charles cleared his throat gaining their attention. He waved his hand in a forward motion as he spoke to King Alexander . " Alexander if you will please follow me to my study. I would like to speak you and my daughter together." " Of course, please lead the way." Alex responded politely. As they all walked down the long hallway the two kings walked beside each other . While Lexi and her mother walked a few steps behind them. Lexi noticed King Alexander had broad shoulders and a powerful yet gracefully walk. She watched him closely noting that Alex strutted down the hallway like he was King of the whole damm world .She noticed right away that the back view of this handsome man was just as impressive as the front view. That's right she was checking out his fine ass and she confirmed that he's smokin hot even in a three piece tailored suit. Lexi took notice that Alex was really tall and he had to slow his pace to walk beside her father. She really appreciated his height , at almost six foot tall herself, Lexi isn't a small girl. At times she feels silly dancing with a normal height man especially when she is wearing high heels which puts her over six foot tall. After they entered her father's study King Charles took a seat behind a large dark wood desk. King Charles nodded towards two brown leather wing back chairs in front of him with a wave of his hand "Please Alexander take a seat" glancing over at Lexi he nodded towards the other chair and Lexi quickly made her way over to set down beside King Alexander . The scene reminded Lexi of her early childhood days when her father would call her and Ethan into his study to scold them for getting into mischief. She giggled to herself at the image in her head of her father scolding King Alexander. The image was so ridiculously funny she had to turn her head to the side and bite her lip to keep from laughing out loud and interrupting what ever her father was about to say. Queen Victoria made her way over to the other side of the room and took a seat on the brown leather sofa that was setting against the wall. After everyone was seated King Charles peered over his glasses at his daughter then brought his gaze back over to King Alexander before speaking in an official tone. "I know the two of you have been talking to each other for a while now ,but you haven't spent any time together as a couple. You can't get to know someone unless you are physically around them . That is the reason I suggested that the two of you need to have time together before you get married." Lexi opened her mouth to interrupt her father because she and Alex had already agreed to his request to wait and not rush right out and get married. However King Charles held his hand up stopping her from speaking and continued " Just a moment Lexi and I will give you and Alexander a chance to speak. Trust me I can understand your cause, and I'm not blind I realize that the two of you have developed a bond with each other. However for a marriage to work you need to be compatible .That is the reason I made this suggestion I'm not trying to come between the two of you. I hope you know Alexander that I have the upmost respect for you and will be proud to call you my son. I just want you to take your time and get to know each other and if you have any doubts ,please Alexander just return my daughter safely back home." King Charles took a deep breath and paused for a moment before continuing " Now let's go over a few formalities. Alexander It stands to reason for Princess Alexis to live in your castle for the Courtship time period of six months. I know you're a busy man and it would be unreasonable considering the distance between our Kingdoms for the two of you to go out like a normal couple." After another brief pause King Charles leaned forward in his chair and started speaking directly to Alex " Alexander you have agreed to provide security and comfort in befitting her status as a princess. I don't expect you to make any special adjustments in your everyday life to accommodate her every whim my only concern is her safety. I have tried my best not to spoil her too much so what ever is normal for you should be fine for her. With all that being said, do either of you have any questions or concerns?".
