The two new friends sat together as they watch Xiao Ma drinking water, it must be a very interesting sight.

The masked man was helpless against Huan Mingyun's persistence and could only oblige to her demand or else this conversation is not going elsewhere.

"En." Huan Mingyun nod her head satisfied as she smiled from ear to ear happy that the masked man called her by a nickname.

Seeing her happy just by calling her nickname, the masked man could not help but smile as he thought that a person as innocent as her may not be an assassin so he finally let his guard down against Huan Mingyun and finally relaxed.

"Xiao Yun, what are you doing so faraway from home, a young lady such as yourself in a place like this. Aren't you afraid of meeting some bad people?" Xiao Su asked.

Hearing Xiao Su's question, Huan Mingyun's happy face fell as she remembered what happened to the original.

"Well.... how should I say this, in the first place I wasn't supposed to be alone I was together with my second cousin to hunt but we didn't expect to meet assassins on the way and because we were outnumbered we were force to split paths. I then fell off my horse and fainted behind a bush but luckily the assassins did not find me and after waking up I ran and here I am now!" Huan Mingyun decided to be honest thinking that the masked man could help her go back home.

"Assassins? They are trying to kill you?" Xiao Su's forehead creased behind his mask as he felt sorry for the "fragile" woman in front of him, if she was not lucky enough then she would have been already dead.

"No, in fact I'm not their target but my second cousin." Huan Mingyun shook her head.

"Why?" Xiao Su asked.

"Before I tell you, you should promise me first not to tell anyone about what I'm about to tell you today, okay?"

"I promise."

"You see, well, as you can see I'm a daughter from a rich family and so are my cousins. My First Cousin who was my second cousin's elder brother was the head of the family, all should be fine and dandy if only we don't have such an evil Uncle. To be the head of the family, Uncle is trying to kill my two cousins so he could become the head of the family and that is why he is doing everything that he can just to kill the both of them. Say, isn't he so evil?" Huan Mingyun who was lost in her thoughts look at Xiao Su, their eyes met and sparks flew.

"Evil." Xiao Su said before turning away from those pair of pure orbs. "But killing those people who are close to you in this world had become normal, for power they are willing to do anything even killing their own flesh."

The masked man's back looked so lonely as he look at the far away sky, he looked like a person that had already experienced many sufferings in life.

Huan Mingyun who was looking at the masked man's lonely back could not help but pity him, people from the ancient times are pretty lonely and sad, they had to live such a sad life just to survive.

"Xiao Su, if you were given a choice to live the way you wanted, what would you choose?" Huan Mingyun asked.

The masked man who was looking far away looked back at Huan Mingyun who was unconsciously looking at him with a pair of gentle and kind eyes that almost made him drown within, he thought about her question seriously.

"If I could have that chance, then I would like to live in the countryside and have a peaceful and happy life together with my future wife and child. I am willing to give up every richness that I have as long as I can have that life." The masked man said seriously.

"Oh. So your the type of person who likes peaceful life than power, seeing you talk about that, your life doesn't seem peaceful." Huan Mingyun said. "I like your idea, peaceful life, if I can have that life even if I have to live a simple life leaving everything behind, I would never have a single regret. A simple life is not that bad."

After talking for awhile, Xiao Ma who looked like he doesn't want to stop drinking water finally stopped.

"Come on, I'll bring you back home, Xiao Yun." The masked man said as he held his hand out for Huan Mingyun.

"Really? Thank you so much, Xiao Su!" Huan Mingyun beamed happily as she held Xiao Su's outstretched hand, she was thinking of different ways on how to tell him that but she did not expect for him to offer her a ride back home.

Huan Mingyun really felt that the masked man was a kind soul, they had only met yet he is already willing to help her.

Snapping from her trance, Huan Mingyun found herself already sitting on top of the horse and the masked man behind her.

"So Xiao Yun, where do you live?" The masked man asked the little woman in front of him, he was a little uneasy being this near to a woman and most of all Huan Mingyun, he had never been this close to a woman before in his entire life.

"I live in Louyang in Zhou!" Huan Mingyun beamed.

Hearing the word Zhou, the masked man stiffened for a moment before he relaxes, he kinda expected her answer but hearing it directly from her still hit him hard.

The masked man stared at Huan Mingyun for a moment before looking away and starting his horse when suddenly, an arrow appeared out of nowhere targeting him from behind!

With the masked man's battle sharpened senses, he quickly unsheathed his sword and whacked the arrow to the side, he quickly started the horse to bring them away from that place.

Soldiers in red appeared from behind the bushes, trees and other hidden corners as they gave chase the masked man and Huan Mingyun, killing intent was visible from them.

"What is happening?" Huan Mingyun who did not see what happened felt that the air suddenly felt tense and killing intent was in the air, she tried to look back and saw that soldiers in red were chasing after them.

Huan Mingyun could totally recognize those uniforms, it was the army of Zhou!

"Wha! Why are we being chased by those soldiers?" Huan Mingyun asked puzzled, they are not bandits so why are they chasing after them?

They are also not assassins so why are they after their life?!

Wait, they could not possibly be chasing after her. The only reason why they are chasing after them is because....

"You. Who exactly are you?" Huan Mingyun asked the masked man behind her.

The masked man could not help but smirk seeing the puzzled face of the beautiful woman in front of him, before he could answer her, someone cut him to it.

"Catch him! Catch Lanling King!"

'Lanling King?!' These words keep on echoing inside Huan Mingyun's mind as she stared at the masked man for quite some time. She would be lying if she was not cursing inside her head because from all of the people that she could meet, why in hell does it need to be Qi's Lanling King the number 1 enemy of Zhou!
