7 Chapter 7- Surprises

"Mom, this is a disaster!" I said looking at the complete mess in the flower shop. The walls was stripped and bare the shelves that hold the flower, vase, pots, and other things we sell was taking down and probably was placed in the back and the shelves was put in the middle of the store. Tarps was laid out on the floor with cans of paint, rollers, tape, and brushes, "I thought this was suppose to start next week."

"Well your father surprised me and told me that he is taking me a week early, we're leaving tomorrow, so I end up closed the store today to help get ready for you guys to paint it." Mom said.

"Well, who helped you move all this stuff cause I know you didn't move it yourself," I said then I heard some laughter as my father, Sebastian, Sean, and another guy walk out from the back room, "what!"

"Sunni!" Sean said coming over to me wrapping his arm around my shoulders, "what took you so long, made us do all the work."

"Why are you guys here? And who are you?" I said looking at the guy I didn't know.

"Garret, Sebastian best mate," Garret said.

"Oh well, nice to meet you," I said then I was grabbed by my father and pulled away from the group, "dad, why you didn't tell me about this early vacation?"

"That's beside the point," dad said and I rolled my eyes, "I've had a little chat with Sebastian."

"Oh really?"

"He's ok."

"Ok?" I asked my dad.

"He's cool, but that doesn't mean I like him."

"Ok dad!" I chuckled.

"Stop laughing, I'm just telling you that I approve," dad said wrapping his arm around my neck, "But I'll still shoot him if he tries something funny."

"What if he already did?" I winked up at my father and he completely stopped.

"Sunshine, you better stop playing with me," dad said smacking my head.

"Owww!" I whined pouting.

"And don't get pregnant while we're gone either, your mother might want grandchildren asap, but I want my daughter to find happiness first, so don't do anything stupid." My father said and I smiled.

"I promise!"

"Yo, Mr. Love! Mrs. Mary was telling us you was pulling the ladies back in the day," Sean said over to us.

"They might have wanted me, but I was only looking at one lady back then and now she's my wife," Dad said and I groaned.

"I had to date some really shithead before I met Charles." Mom said placing a box on the ground.

"I'm already in some deep shit," Garret said and they start having their conversation as I decide to go find Sebastian.

"Hey!" I said when I found him in the corner setting up the paint.

"Hey!" Sebastian said when he turned around and saw me, "your mother is something else I tell you, called me at four o'clock in the morning and told me to haul my ass down here."

"And why did you?"

"Well umm..." Sebastian said standing up digging in his pocket, "this my have something to do with it." Sebastian hand me what looks like a check.

"What the hell is this type of money coming from?" I said glancing back at my parents before looking at the check again that was made out to Sebastian for $1,000.

"A lot of money just for a paint job," Sebastian winked.

"You call all of this a paint job and I don't even get payed that much working for them...that's totally not fair!"

"You're my partner for this job, right? So it's only fitting that I split this money with you," Sebastian said wrapping his arms around my waist.

"Yeah, but a terrible partner, I might even fuck up something..."

"I, the boss of this whole thing, is not going to let that happen," Sebastian said leaning closer to me, "plus if we get this done quickly, I can take you to this lake getaway my friends and I do every summer, but don't tell your parents."

"Of course not because I'm not going," I said making Sebastian pout, "I can't swim."

"You don't have to swim!"

"Well, I don't want to stay in a disgusting cabin!"

"It's actually a two story house by the lake, really nice and furnished." Sebastian said and I bite my tongue glancing up at him.

"I wouldn't know anybody there!"

"Invite Madeline!"

"Why are you not getting the hints that I don't want to go to this lake house!" I said making Sebastian smile.

"I'm not listening to them because you're going. You can't be that much an introvert when you're around me."

"My father will kill you if he finds out I went to a lake house with you," I groaned placing my hand on both sides of his cheek before bringing it down so he's forehead could touch mine, "I got a better idea, why don't we skip the lake trip and you stay with me at my house to keep me company."

"Tempting! But the way I see it, me staying at your house will cause more trouble than going to the lake, so we're going."

"Fine, whatever!" I muffled pulling away from him, "whatever the boss says."

"You know, my parents is coming to my house for dinner tonight and I want to know if you like to join us?" Sebastian asked.

"Really?" I said trying to act cool.

"Sunni, yes or no?"

"Yes, I would love too," I said.

"Great, I'll send you my address," Sebastian winked moving pass me, "dinner at 7:00, don't be late."

"Ok!"

"Hey girl!" Madeline said walking into my room.

"Hey, long time no see!" I said shutting my computer sitting up from the bed.

"You the one that ditch me since you found a boyfriend!" Madeline said sitting on my bed.

"He's not my boyfriend!" I said getting up from my bed to take my laptop on my desk, "but he invite me to dinner at his place to meet his parents."

"Then you're his girlfriend if you're meeting the fam, think about it?" Madeline said standing up, "he's not picking you up, right?"

"No!"

"That means he's cooking, now tell me Sunni, what guy waste their time cooking for a friend?"

"I don't know?" I said shrugging my shoulder and I don't really care.

"No one, but anyways!" Madeline said done with the conversation, "since your parents going on vacation and you don't have to work the next three weeks, what are we going to do?"

"You're going to hate me, but I'm helping Sebastian paint the shop," I said going to my closet to pick out something to wear for tonight.

"Should have known...."

"I really don't want to go, but Sebastian and a group of his friends are going to a lake house in a couple of weeks. He said that you're invited because you're the only reason why I will go."

"Hell yeah, of course I want to go to the lake house specially if that friend of his you was talking to at the cafe is going. He is something to look at."

"Wow! I would have never thought!"

"Sunni, I can find white boys cute and very hot to look at. That ain't a crime."

"It's not, but still surprising. So I'm taking it that you're going?" I asked.

"Yeah, definitely, but I'm not getting in no dirty ass lake water and messing up my hair," Madeline said making me laugh.

"Then what's the point of going!"

"The Alcohol!" Madeline said getting up, "what else! I'll let you get ready to met the family, tomorrow we're still on, right?"

"Yes!"

"Ok, see you then. Have a nice dinner!" Madeline said walking out my room. I look at the clock to see that it was almost five thirty so I decided to getting ready.

When I arrived at Sebastian's home, there was another car in the driveway beside his. So he's parents must be here already here, I look at the clock in my car and I see that it's almost two minutes til seven. I took a deep breath before taking my keys out the engine before grabbing my phone and got out the car. I locked my car walking up the driveway and to the front door, I pressed the doorbell feeling getting nervous by the second.

"Right on time I see!" Sebastian opening the door with his adorable smile and I smiled back.

"I'm never late!" I said stepping inside and hugged him.

"Ready to meet my parents?"
