Smitten

Sheryl knew that Linda was not a very easy person to please. Also, she knew that Linda was an extremely honest, a little naïve and clear hearted person, who would never cheat anyone. That is why she thought that Linda would be perfect girl for her brother.

Jackson on the other hand was flamboyant, flirt and emotionally unstable. Specially after the death of their parents in their early 20s, Jackson was all about living a hollow life. He would flirt around with women and find happiness in these superficial things.

Sheryl really wanted her brother to now settle down and she knew that Linda was the best person for him. She was not just beautiful and intelligent but at the same time she would bring stability to any person she married to. Her fingers were crossed as the two of them were constantly looking at each other. She really hoped that this would turnout to be something very beautiful and Linda would officially be a part of their family.

Jackson was a little taken aback as he had not expected anyone to not recognise him. Not just he had the habit of girls falling on his feet but at the same time he was always hurdled by millions of fans who would recognise him at a drop of the hat. "You mean you do not know who I am?" Jackson's eyebrows raised and he was yet holding the girl in his arms, not willing to leave.

"Sorry….I do not know anyone here except for my best friend Sheryl. And if you do not mind I think, I can now balance myself." Linda pointed towards his arm and Jackson instantly straightened her body but had yet not released her from his arms.

"Look carefully have you still not recognised me?" Jackson asked again and Linda smiled a little looking straight in his blue eyes.

….

She looked at him for a very long time and then nodded her head in disapproval. "Until and unless you are an attorney, a judge or one of the criminals that I have gotten imprisoned ….sorry I wouldn't know you." Linda shrugged her shoulders and instantly held the boy's arms pushing them down. "If you would please excuse me, my friend is waiting for me. Thank you so much for saving me back there from having a terrible fall an embarrassing myself." Linda smiled a little in a courteous manner and was about to walk towards Cheryl when Jackson instantly held her hand and yet again pulled her closer to his body.

"I am not done yet beautiful…." He smirked in a flirtatious manner. "I am Jackson, Sheryl's elder brother. If you remember, I had saved you back then from such a similar fall when we were in school." Jackson looked at Linda in much hope and Linda frowned a little in confusion.

"I'm so sorry I did not recognise you Jackson. How are you? Thank you so much for having me in this party." Linda smiled and then instantly held out her hand in much courtesy.

After her past experience with Austin, she knew that she would never give so much importance to any guy in her entire life. She knew that men were not trustworthy and she would never let any man take undue advantage of her even if it was her childhood crush Jackson.

Linda was a little taken back and she instantly planted her other hand on his chest, preventing herself from coming much closer to him. The man had pulled her with much force and he was constantly looking in her eyes. "You are extremely beautiful Linda. Did you seriously not recognise me?"

A girl not recognising him was a serious blow on his ego. He simply could not digest that somebody whom he had known for so many years simply did not recognise him.

Linda frowned a little and then instantly pushed away her hand from his grip. "I told you, I did not recognise you at all. Why are you making such a big deal out of it?"

Jackson looked at her hand and then instantly saw a diamond ring on her ring finger. "You are engaged? Are you married?"

Suddenly Jackson could feel as sharp inch in his heart and Linda nodded her head in approval.

"Yes I recently got married 3 months ago." Linda let out a deep sigh as suddenly she realised that she was married and she should behave herself. Even though she hated Austin but she simply could not be like him. She quickly walked away towards Sheryl while Jackson kept looking at her preceding figure in much longing.

Linda smiled a little looking at Sheryl as she was still shaken by the recent turn of events. She had expected that Jackson would not even recognise her or probably not even pay attention to her but something quite opposite had happened. Jackson was literally flirting with her in a very bold manner and she was feeling extremely nervous and surprised about it. On top of that suddenly he asked about her marriage and she got extremely sad about the fact that she was indeed married to a man like Austin who was nothing but a liability in her life.

"Linda! You look so gorgeous. I had told my brother that when you will come in this party you will become the centre of attraction. You look so beautiful!!" Sheryl hugged the girl tightly and Linda smiled a little planting her neck on Sheryl's shoulder.

Sheryl was her home, confidante and everything that Linda ever wanted in a person. Just by hugging the girl she felt extreme amount of happiness and relief.

"And look at you how come you look prettier everyday?" Linda smiled looking at Sheryl's beautiful face and her lovely features.

"Ohh….forget about me what happened back there? I can feel the chemistry between you and brother coming back." Sheryl winked a little and then poked the girl in her waist.

"Chemistry coming back? There was never a chemistry Sheryl. Stop teasing me." Linda nodded her head in disapproval and smiled looking at her. "But I'm so glad to have met you. I have so much to talk to you."

"Not now. Tonight you will enjoy this party and get yourself drunk. We can talk about Austin some other day." Sheryl smiled holding the girl's hand as they both walked towards the huge champagne fountain. They both were after a few seconds already holding two glasses of champagne and were drinking it together giggling and laughing merrily.

Linda was now busy talking to Sheryl and little did she know that a pair of blue eyes was constantly noticing her even after getting to know that she was indeed married to somebody else.
