1 Chapter 1: Starlight's Childhood

Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, it was the last day of school before Summer Break. When the bell rang, fillies and colts ran out of the school, and were heading out to the bus. But one filly named Starlight Glimmer was very excited because her father was having a gig the next day. She headed towards the bus and went straight home.

After she arrived, she walked to the door. "Mommy! I'm Home!" She went to go look for her Mom. "Mommy?" But she heard coughing. Lots of coughing. Starlight went into her Mom's room and discovered that she's sick.

"Mommy? Is everything okay?" Starlight said.

"Oh, Starlight", her Mom said, "It's worse than I thought."

"What?"

"...Your father's dead."

Starlight couldn't believe it. "What...? W-W-What does that mean?"

"It means he's gone forever." Her Mom had cough again. "I'm so sorry, Starlight. There's no way I can get this sickness out. ...I think it's time for you to be grown up." Her Mom coughed very hard, and suddenly, she has now passed away.

"Mommy?" Starlight tries to get her up. "Mommy!?" She kept trying, but it's no use. "MOMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" It was too late. Without her parents, she feels very emotionally sad and upset.

Starlight ran out of the room, ran down the stairs, and went to the couch to cry. But something popped up. It was a black duck named Daffy, and he was wearing a hula dress with a guitar. "HELLO!!!" he said. But Starlight was really scared that he popped up. "I see you're feeling depressed!" Daffy continues, "And I also see that you're having a rough day! But not to worry, we're hear to make sure that you're--" But Starlight punched him, and Daffy's eyeballs popped out of his face. Starlight ran away to her room, while Daffy goes blind and tries to find his eyeballs.

It was now nighttime, Starlight was sleeping in her room. But the door was being opened. It was Daffy and his bunny pal named Bugs. "OH!!!" Daffy gasped.

"Shhh!!!" Bugs shushed Daffy.

"Sorry."

"Okay, let's go wake her up."

"Are you sure? Because I can't tell if she's asleep or not. And I still haven't found my eyes."

"OH!!! WHA--! HERE!!! Found your eyes!" Bugs putted Daffy's eyeballs back on his face.

"OH!!! THAT'S BETTER!" Daffy said.

"WOULD YOU-- SHHH!!!!!" Bugs shushed him again.

"Okay! Okay."

"Alright, now follow my lead." Bugs and Daffy tipped toed to Starlight's bed. Once they've made it, Bugs starts to wake her up. "Hey, kid. Wake up." Starlight starts to wake up. "How are you feeling?"

But Starlight screamed and starts to freak out. "AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"WHOA!!!!! WHOA!!! KID!!! IT'S OKAY!!!" Bugs tries to clam her down.

"MOMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Kid! It's okay! Clam down!"

"AHH!!!!! PLEASE DON'T HURT ME!!!"

"We're not gonna hurt you."

"...You're not?" Starlight starts to clam down.

"No. We're here to help make you feel better, and to make sure you have a good life."

"You are?"

"Yeah."

"...But what if you're not there for me?"

"Nonsense! We'll always be there for you." Daffy said.

"And we'll always be there for you no matter what." Bugs said. And so, Bugs and Daffy hugged Starlight; and now she feels so much better than before.
