3 The Shadowy Figure

"Who are you?!" Gregory yelled. The dorm mates all jumped back from the door, but not fast enough. The shadowy figure started to sink into the shadow of the door. Then the figure appeared behind Jack, quickly grabbing Jack and putting a curved blade to Jack's throat. "What do you want?" Sylvester said while pulling a small pocket knife from his pocket. Against Jack's neck, the curved blade glinted menacingly.

"Do as I say and I won't slit this kid's throat." The shadowy figure coldly whispered. The figure pushed the blade closer to Jack's neck.

"We will do what you say. Just don't hurt him." Alex whispered. The shadowy figure looked at Alex and smiled evilly. The light from the setting sun shone on the figure as he stepped forward. The figure was revealed to be a tall man with a strange mask on. The mask had a weird pattern where a long black line twisted around the blood red bird that was plastered on it.

"I want to see if you will be a threat to my boss's plan. Alex, now that I have seen you face to face I can safely say that you will not be a threat." The masked figure said while he looked at Alex. "But I don't want to just leave you here without anything so I will tell you one thing. You are not the only one." Suddenly the masked figure melted back into the shadows and was gone.

"I am not the only one? What does he mean?" Alex looked around the dorm. "Do you guys have any idea who that guy was?"

"I don't know any more than you do" Jack said. "I know nothing" Gregory responded. "Your guess is as good as mine" Sylvester said with a puzzled look.

"All students please report to the cafeteria for your bedroom necessities and for your first meal!" A speaker outside blasted the voice of the principal.

"I guess we have to go to dinner." Gregory said with a nervous look. "What about the masked guy? What if he comes back?" Jacks said with a nervous and scared look. "Don't worry Jack. We will be together with other students so no one can attack us!" Gregory said with a reassuring smile. "You're right. They wouldn't dare to attack us when we are with other people." Alex piggy backed off of Gregory's confidence.

They walked out of the dorm and continued on to the cafeteria. They walked for about five minutes before they saw a large building with a lot of students crowding around it. "Students that need their bedroom necessities form three lines" a teacher shouted above the murmur of the students.

"Let's go get our stuff." Gregory said to the dorm mates. They all lined up in the third line and waited there turn to get their stuff. When they got to the front of the line they were asked what dorm they were in.

"207" Jack said. "207. Here you guys go." A middle aged woman said. She handed them each a pillow, toothpaste, a toothbrush, deodorant, nail clippers, a blanket, a comb, and shampoo. "There is a bathroom in your dorm so there is already soap in there. If you run out or need anything else just talk to a teacher and they will get you what you need." The teacher said to the boys.

"Thanks a lot teacher" the boys responded as they grabbed the toiletries and headed to the cafeteria doors. The doors were two huge wooden doors the had large handles on them. Gregory grabbed a handle and pushed the door opened.

The boys were flooded with noise the second the doors were opened. They saw a huge amount of people sitting together at tables all around the cafeteria. They made their way through the crowd to to lunch line. They saw a large variety of food that they could choose from. There was all kinds of cuisines from many different places. Alex grabbed two slices of cheese pizza and a glass of orange juice before walking with his dorm mates to one of the few tables that weren't full. The only person sitting at the table they went to was a short girl that was reading a book. She didn't acknowledge the guys so they didn't bother her. Gregory started chowing down on his meal. He had stacked his plate high with all kinds of food.

"How are you going to eat all of that?" Jack questioned. But before Gregory could respond a blonde haired kid interrupted them. "You are the person who awakened the dragon, right?" The blonde kid looked at Alex.

"Yes I am. Why?" Alex asked. "Fight me! If you aren't a coward!" The blonde kid yelled to get the attention of the cafeteria.

"Why do you want to fight me?" Alex looked very confused. "Because I want to beat you in front of everyone so they know that you are nothing compared to me" the blonde kid responded. "Alright I will fight you. But how about tomorrow I am trying to enjoy my meal." Alex said to the kid.

"Fine then tomorrow I will destroy you!" The blonde kids yelled at Alex as he walked out of the cafeteria followed by a few guys.

"You know that that is Mark Howard right?" Jack quickly asked Alex. "Who?" Alex asked with a puzzled look. "What you don't know who that is?! He awoke a cheetah and I heard that he can already change his fingers into claws" Jack quickly said. "He is going to destroy you tomorrow!" Gregory yelled after finally finishing his meal.

Alex's face lost its color. "Now I am regretting agreeing to this fight." He said his hands shaking.
