18 Chapter 18: Practical lesson

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

Monday.

Today, we would have our first practical battle class during our second period. The students were a little ecstatic despite what happened last Friday.

When the bell announcing the second period rang, every students from our class were already at the battle grounds. This show how much they wanted to learn about Pokemon training, especially when we're in the best school in the country.

The teacher was already there so the students immediately approached him.

"Hoh, you're all already here huh. Well, that's good. This class would last for three periods so there would be two breaks between them. Firstly, I'd like to know how much experience you have in battling. Raise your hand if you have participated in at least ten battles against another trainer."

There were 32 students who raised their hands.

"I see. That's a good number. Well, the very first thing you need to do would be to make your Pokemon master their moves. I know you have learned about it in the theoretical class but in practice it wouldn't be easy. So for now, take out two of your Pokemon and chose one move for each to master. Don't worry, I'll help you."

"Sensei, can I skip those lessons? It seems you only teach the basics and I've already learned a lot of advanced technics so I'd like to focus on my own training."

"Hoh? From what I remember, Himekawa-kun, right? Effectively, your mother from the elite 4 should have taught you a lot of things that even the school don't know but from the data, you seems to have hard time to command your Pokemon so these classes should be helpful for you."

"Huh? I never had heard time to command them. I just didn't need to do it when battling those weakling from the exam."

"Hoh, are you saying that you can command them without a problem when you battle a strong opponent? In that case, choose the student you think as the strongest among your classmates and have a battle with them. If I judge I don't have anything to teach you then you can skip my classes without affecting your class points."

Interesting. Since the teacher said that, I though I could take advantage of that to make my school life more interesting.

"In that case, I choose Ayanokoji-kun."

Everyone were a little surprised hearing that but knowing his background, they were also curious.

"Hoh, Ayanokoji-kun huh? Interesting. In that case, today's lesson would be suspended temporarily. We'll have a battle between Ayanokoji-kun and Himekawa-kun on a 3v3 single format. So, let's move to this battle field."

"Ah, um, excuse me, sensei."

"Yes, Ayanokoji-kun ?"

"Could I talk with Himekawa-kun in private?"

"Hoh, well, it's true I can't force you to fight so go ahead of you want to negotiate."

After the teacher said that, Ayanokoji me more a little farther away where our classmates wouldn't hear anything about our talk.

"Um Himekawa-kun, can you choose someone else? You see, I just want to have a normal school life so I'd like to hide my abilities if possible."

"Normal school life? That was already impossible the moment you entered this school. Also, I think it would be better for you to show some of your abilities, especially when your father is already starting to make a move."

"My father? What are you talking about? Could you be more precise?"

"You know he didn't like you entering this school right. From what I gathered about him, he's starting to look for a way to infiltrate the school in order to expel you. And believe me, the more you hide your abilities, the more you make it easier for them to do it."

Hearing that, he began to think about something, likely about how to counter them.

"Hey Ayanokoji, you know my mother is the the league's representative right? I can ask her to help your case. I just want you to not hold back during our battle. I can also give you something that would help you to be stronger if you're thinking of breaking free from him. The only thing I need you to do is to not hold back in this battle. I'm not asking you to use "that" Pokemon. As long as they're strong, you can use them and don't hold back."

He took some time to think about it but finally agreed to it. So we went back to where the others are.

"Hoh, so how was it? Would you still have a battle?"

"Yes. But I'd like to use a stadium and to activate its protective shields. I can pay for it if needed."

"No need. Since you have my authorization, this would be considered as a part of the lessons."

Afterwards, we went to a stadium. The battlefield was as big as a soccer field. The students went to the stands while Ayanokoji and I took out place on the field. The teacher took the role of refree. We were wearing head mic, that way, the Pokemon would hear us from anywhere in the field, well, that also means the opponent would also hear our command.

"We will now begin a 3 on 3 single battle between Himekawa Yuu and Ayanokoji Kiyotaka with a standard battle rule. Trainers prepare for the battle. Ready? Set. Start!"

"Let's go, Mana!"

Immediately after the signal, I sent my Pokemon, it was Mana, my Eevee. Ayanokoji also sent his without saying anything. It was a red and white bipedal bird like Pokemon holding a bag like thing. It was a Delibird… or not. Its body looked mechanical and it's eyes were blues. It was an Iron Bundle, the future paradox version of Delibird.

Ayanokoji's Iron Bundlen immediately used electric terrain without Ayanokoji saying anything. I could feel some psychic fluctuation so it's highly probable he's using telepathy. On another hand, I activated the Eevium Z on the Z power band on my left wrist.

"Mana, Extreme Evoboost."

Thankfully, I don't need to do that weird dance to activate the Z moves.

8 hologram showing every evolved form of Eevee appeared on the field around Mana. Those holograms shone before giving their energy to Mana and disappeared. It only took 3 second for the move to end.

Immediately after, Iron Bundle use an ice beam but Mana dodged it without a problem.

"Mana, pattern beta!"

There were about 40 meters between the Pokemon so Mana started to run toward the Iron Bundle while using Glitzy Glow. A psychic energy ball shot toward iron bundle but it easily evaded it before using blizzard. Since blizzard have a wide are of effect, Mana couldn't dodge it so she used sizzly slide to counter it. Covered in a fire energy, coupled with a barrier made by the the previous Glitzy Glow, the blizzard did little to no damage.

Once she got close enough, Mana tried to hit the iron bundle with sizzly slide but it dodged using flip turn and hit her from behind. Mana managed to endure it and followed with Baddy Bad. A dark type energy covered her and she managed to hit iron bundle. Another barrier covered her as an after effect of the move.

Iron bundle used whirlpool and Mana managed to dodge it before using sizzly slide again. Iron bundle used flip turn again to dodge it and hit her from behind however it was less effective due to the new barrier. Mana immediately followed with Buzzy buzz. Iron bundle couldn't dodge the electric attack and got hit. It tried to use a move with the bag like thing it was holding but failed. It got paralyzed by the attack from earlier.

Seeing the situation, Mana used sizzly slide and hit her opponent adding a burn on top of its paralysis. The iron bundle used another blizzard from a close range and hit Mana who just finished using a move and it managed to freeze her. In her frozen state, Mana still managed to use a move so she used Sparkly Swirl and shot a fairy type move on iron bundle who couldn't escape due to the paralysis, in addition, she got out of the frozen state.

"Mana, enough playing around, finish this"

As I said that, Mana moved way faster than before. In normal case, extreme Evoboost would raise the five stats of the Pokemon by two level but due to Mana's ability, Simple, its effect got twice as effective as normal making her stats rise by four levels. Simple was an ability that shouldn't be normally learned by Pokemon but partner Eevee who don't have any ability after being hatched are an exception.

Ayanokoji seemed surprised by this but couldn't do anything seeing Mana raining Sappy seed on iron bundle knocking it out.

"Ayanokoji-kun's Delibird have lost. You have ten seconds to send out your next Pokemon."

Of course, the teacher don't know about iron bundle. Ayanokoji returned iron bundle to its ball and I also did the same with Mana. I know I have some advantages with Mana's stat boosts but I decided to make it more interesting.

"It's your turn, Azuki."

The two of us sent out our next Pokemon. On his side there was a silvally set on fire type. It was an artificial legendary Pokemon made by the team Hakuryuu trying to imitate Arceus but well, I think it's a failure. It would never manage to reach Arceus' level. On my side, there was an Alcremie with a ruby swirl colors.

"Pattern gamma."

Azuki shone in a pink light for a moment before the light faded and nothing noticable happened. It was an original move I taught most of my fairy type Pokemon. It's called miracle boost, a move that use fairies' miracle power to raise their five stats' level by one. On the other side of the field, a few sword like holograms danced around it.

'Sword Dance. Look like this guy is getting more serious.'

"Azuki, change to pattern alpha."

Hearing that, Azuki got more serious and used another two miracle boost while silvally use two Sword Dance. Azuki still continued to use the same move while silvally used agility three time. Once the two Pokemon finished their boosts, Silvally used will-o-wisp while Azuki shot sparkly swirls one after another.

Silvally dodged the fairy type attacks while closing the distance while Azuki didn't dodge the floating blue ember and got burned but it got dispelled immediately due to the sparkly swirls. Once silvally got close enough, it used a fire type multi attack but Azuki dodged it while using a sparkly swirl from point blank hitting it hard despite its resistance due to Azuki's maxed stats coupled with a STAB.

Azuki continued to fire sparkly swirls and some of them managed to hit. Silvally also managed to hit from time to time but it didn't deal as much damage as Azuki's attacks.

'Well, I didn't want to make an overkill but since I want to show those special mechanisms, I'll do it.'

"Azuki, let's do it, return."

I returned her into her ball. Unlike in the games, Pokemon won't lose their buffs when returning into their pokeball. I held the ball on my right hand and activated the dynamax band on my right wrist. Five pinkish energy light went out of the band before entering the ball. The ball in my hand became a big pink glowing pokeball and I threw it. A gigantic Alcremie with a body looking like a pièce montée cake appeared on the field. I could hear the classmates' surprise from where I was.

"Azuki, finish it by raining G max finals."

Azuki then fired gigantic fairy type hurricanes one after another. The attackd were too big that the silvally could only endure them until it fainted.

"Ayanokoji-kun's unknown Pokemon lost. You have ten seconds to send your last Pokemon."

He returned his silvally into its ball. At that moment, Azuki went back to her original size and form. She actually held back her previous attacks so that her dynamax would end after the battle. I then returned her into her ball.

"Come out, Ken!"

I sent out my Lucario while Ayanokoji sent out an Aerodactyl.

"Ken, pattern alpha."

Ken immediately used Aura Boost. It's the same move as miracle boost but use aura instead. On other hand, Ayanokoji's Aerodactyl used Ancient Power. Five rocks appeared around it and a mystic energy surrounded it for a moment.

'Look like this Aerodactyl have mastered ancient Power to the point it would give it a stat boost every time it's used.'

Ken evaded the rocks while continuing to use Aura Boost. In no time, the two Pokemon's five stats got maxed out. Ken then started to fire Aura spheres one after another. Aerodactyl easily evaded them while flying at high speed and firing rock slide which Ken evaded without a problem.

At that moment, the Aura Sphere that were evaded by Aerodactyl started to follow it. It managed to evade at first but with Ken continuing to make more, the number were to much so it started to get hit.

Deciding to change his strategy, Ayanokoji commanded his Aerodactyl to approach Ken. Fire started to appear on its mouth before it goes a flamethrower. Ken evaded it easily but it was a diversion. Once it got close enough, the flamethrower stopped but the flames on its mouth didn't disappear and used a fire fang. Ken managed to dodge it by ducking and its fists got covered by a steel type energy and used them to punch Aerodactyl.

Double Iron Bash. It was Melmetal's signature move but Ken manager to learn it. Aerodactyl staggered in the air due to the punches and got hit by some Aura sphere. Ken then made more Aura sphere. Seeing this, Aerodactyl fired a fire blast on one of the aura sphere causing a big explosion which destroyed the other one. Taking advantage of this situation, it landed and used roost and tailwind at the same time.

'Now, he's almost totally serious. Let's see what will you do against this.'

I took out a pendant from inside my shirt. There was a multicolored stone with a DNA symbol in the middle on it, it was a key stone.

"Ken, Mega-evolve."

As I said that, the key stone on my pendant along with the mega stone on Ken's arm shone before Ken lit up with an orange light. Its shape changed a little. Before long, the light faded revealing a mega Lucario.

"Samurai mode"

As I said that, Ken used one of his original move, aura create, ta katana made of aura apprared in his hand and a samurai armor on his body.

Aerodactyl flew up and used brave bird with an incredible speed.

"Ending S1"

Ken grinned hearing that. He lowered his posture, his body lit up with a blue light and disappeared when Aerodactyl reached his position, causing it to fall on the ground. It was actually due to the use of the move extreme speed.

Taking advantage of the situation, in his extreme speed state, Ken slashed the Aerodactyl more than 30 time a second, depleting its HP quickly, causing it to faint. Seeing this, Ken reverted back to his normal form.

It took a moment for the teacher to come out of his daze.

"Ayanokoji-kun's Aerodactyl lost. With this, Himekawa-kun is the winner of the battle."

Don't forget the power stones.
