Chapter 12 : A normal day in the pokemon world

When i woke up i took a shower and looked at my phone

'12 am the s.s anne leaves in 24 hours'

so i took a shower and went to the port and waited in line to enter the cruise and saw blue was near the entrance, when i got in i went to the reception and got the keys to my room so i went and left my tent , sleeping bag and kept my bag since i could be asked to return hoothoot and slowpoke for whatever reason and i didnt feel confortable holding a pokeball in each hand till i got back to my room.

"lets go explore"

Hoothoot like always when i dont have my jacket climbed to my shoulder in the strap of my bag while slowpoke stood right beside me and then we started walking,

the outside was where the pool was and when slowpoke jumped right in , i decided to stay a few hours while hoothoot and i sat under an umbrella, when slowpoke came out i stood up it was 3pm and we continued our exploration, when we got to the main hall there were a lot of people talking and eating so i decided to pick a plate of pasta with tomato berry sauce while i got meat of an unknown source to slowpoke and hoothoot.

When we finished eating i saw blue and he was around a bunch of people

'they didnt seat in the table with him so its likely they are bugging him'

"hey blue did you finished eating? i remember something about a battle you promeised?"

when he looked at me a little smile appeared in his face and he excused himself and came to talk

"thanks, they where getting annoying"

"dont mention it"

"the battle is still a go?"

"sure"

" now that i think about it i didnt really asked your name did i?"

" its Paul, Paul brightburn"

" well Paul nice to meet you and now that i think about it i didnt present myself either so let me do it im Blue, Blue oak"

i laughed at that

"nice to meet you blue"

and with that we started walking to the battle arena since Blue knew where it was. The battle this time didnt involve any bets and we went with our complete teams. I manged to take down 2 of his pokemon before i ran out of teleports and got destroyed by his raticate

'why do i always lose against the rattata line?'

Anyways after the battle and healing our pokemon i maneged to meet red, well meet its probably a streach of the word i just saw how blue and red meet while we where walking through the cruise and they decided to have a battle and dont ask me how because red didnt spoke a word and when the battle ended red CRUSHED blue loseing 2 pokemon against blues 4 winning with a pikachu holding a light ball with a collar with a weird fighting style

'i will take note of that style if i ever get something similar to that pikachu'

after that he left and blue seemed to be thinking

"whats on your mind?"

he seemed to have totally forgoten my existance since he looked suprised to see me

"its just that last time we meet i beat him barely and he just seems to get better at a faster rate than me, how do i counter that?"

'how would i know? you already are going at a faster rate than me and i had a whole month of extra training '

but that answer seemed wrong so i went with something more friendly

"dont worry you will catch up soon theres gotta be a top of how good someone can get before they start to slow down and thats when you take the lead back"

that seemed to do the trick so we went to heal his pokemon and kept talking till he decided to go to the battle arena while i went to change and went to the game section so we exchanged numbers, in the game section there was a section specific for pokemon so we spended a while getting a better score in a presicion and strangth game for water types and the results of training water gun showed and since we got the best score till a bald man with his sismitoad went to the same game we played and launched a hydro pump getting 3 times our score

'we have a long way to go'.

At night there was a lights show during dinner and a theatrical dance and by the end we where feeling sleepy so we went to our room so we went to sleep.

The next day was spend with us wakeing up at 6 am and going to the pool so i started floating next to slowpoke while hoothoot stayed under an umbrella, the sun hadnt set yet and there was no one on the pool besides us so it was pretty relaxing, by 8 am the sun started to come and we decided to go and have breakfast followed by a few battles to keep in shape where if i found the challenger week i thought it was the prefect opportunity to try new strategies mid battle to make it more exciting since most where rich people i maneged to get 3000$ in just 3 battles so it was worth it, then we went to play a few games and ate lunch with blue which made people appear around him in less quantity, when i asked him what happend with red he said that he didnt liked the crouise and prefered to travel on foot so he leaved and stayed in vermillion

'huh'

the next the rest of the day was more of the same and then it happened.

while on bed preparing to go to sleep the sound of a explosion could be heared in the distance so we decided to investigate and i was not the only one because a bunch of people in the rooms next to mine walked out of their rooms and in the end of the corridor a man wearing black and a R in his chest walked with a arbok by his side and a megaphone and started talking

"Dear traveleres this cruise ended up being taken by team rocket and we exploted the motor so if you wanna get out of here alive to the lifeboats you better give me all your belongings"

a passanger that was 3 rows in front of me talked

" like hell we are gonna do that ,growlithe use ember"

at that the man just laughed

"arbok do your thing"

the arbok cutted the growlithe in half and hitted the man in the head sending him to the floor, there was blood, and it not only came from the growlithe , the man was bleeding at a rapid speed and i closed the door as slow as possible and took a deep breath

'panic can come later but i know i cant beat that arbok and i cant go through him so , i have about 3 minutes before he comes here so i better think fast'

first i closed the door with my key and then returned hoothoot and kept slowpoke.

i started makeing my bed the best i could and took my things and entered the bathroom ,turned the lights off and we went in the bathtube closeing the curtains...

as timed passed i could hear how people where crying and then it beacame more silent.

'Did they went through?'

when i started to relax the sound of a door flying trough the room and impacting the wall putting me and slowpoke on high alert.

I started holding my breath while i could hear the door of the bathroom open and and he turned the lights on and i made my better effort to look as small as possible and hope i didnt show any shadow while slowpoke was ready for combat as soon as the courtain oppened, after a few seconds his voice could be heared talking to someone by a phone

" the room 306 was empty it seems not all tickets where bought"

a moment later he left and i started breathing again but stayed a minutes more and decided it was enough and got out of the bathtub and got close to the place where there was a door before and listen for any sound indicateing that someone was out there.

When i didnt hear anything after a while i came out and didnt like what i found, the floor was covered with blood and a purple liquid when i looked up again i found that most of the doors contained bodies in the floor, some with a crack on their head while others had their faces melted of, they clarely had no intencion of letting survivors.

i threw up, and once i launched all my dinner like slowpokes water gun i walked again and called blue, i knew for a fact that he would survive this so he was my best shot of getting out of here.

" Paul? how are you alive? no, it doesnt matter im battleing at the pool right now, the cruise is sinking and i have no idea how to get out so you better move your ass here because im running out of pokemon so come here quickly"

and with that a click could be heared signaling the end of the call

'ok, i know where to go now so lets move we will solve the rest later'

and with that i walked the set of stairs that would lead me to the third floor where the pool was and i could feel the slow speed at which the boat was sinking.

when i found blue he was followed by a bunch of bodies of rocket grunts all probably dead or unconcious i could see him fighting the arbok guy against his ratticate holding on for a few seconds till he was cut in half

" i gotta admit kid you were the one who put more of a fight in this whole cruise so its a shame that you have to die are you sure you dont wanna join us? with someone with your potencial you could be elite in a few months"

with that words blue seemed to think about it for a bit till he saw me and i just put my hand bettwen my lips and started talking to slowpoke

and he seemed to get the message since he started talking more excited than before

" are you serious? you truly belive that?"

"yeah kid im glad you think abut it that way follow me and-"

i appeared near him and took his belt before dissapearing

" what! arbok use -"

i took arboks ball and returned him and then launched the ball and his belt to the open sea where a bunch of boats with team rocket members where leaving and looked back at him

" im gonna make you regret what you and your pokemon did you little shit"

and with that slowpoke appeared in front of him and launched a water gun that started becomeing red, he went to the floor followed by a teleport to where he was and slowpoke launched an iron tail to his ribcage where a crack could be heared followed by a scream and then silence. i looked back at blue that was looking at the place where his raticate was and then he looked back at me

"thanks"

"dont mencion it, now lets find a way out of here"

Blue looked back once before we were on the move again leaving the rockets body next to raticates and found that all lifeboats where punctured so blue released wartortle who was in a bad shape and we took the one that had less openings and blew all the air in our lungs before patching it with an ice beam and got on the boat while the cruise was sinking.

The next days consisted of his wartortle and slowpoke pushing the boat ,eating and sleeping and re patching the boat with another ice beam every few hours till we maneged to get to fuchsia city and talked with the police.

After that we rented a room in the poke center and took the shower i couldnt take in the sea, the salt water its not really good at cleaning and the one from our pokemon dont have any minerals so it would just absorb the ones we possesed makeing it worse and with that and a dinner i went to sleep with a hoothoot on my chest and a slowpoke on my legs.

Today wasnt such a good day to be in the pokemon world and even less when you are told the both of us were the only survivors reported and with that last thought i let darkness embrace me and falled sleep
