Chapter 3

Magikarp was the weakest and useless Pokemon in the game. Even with a strong move added later in the generation, Magikarp was still weak thanks to its poor stats.

When Mark found out that his Pokemon compatibility was Magikarp with five other weak Pokemon, he gave up completely to become a Pokemon Warrior but now, he was given a chance to become a strong one.

Mark swam in the river and he found one small Magikarp.

'By the size of this Magikarp, it is a newborn. Nice~ I don't need to fight it,' Mark was happy.

Since it was a newborn, the Magikarp would only know one skill, Splash. One of the most useless skills in the entire Pokemon game. Mark's 'luck' gave him the Splash skill orb once and he learned that as to not waste it.

Mark swam toward the small Magikarp and caught it with his hand. Since he had enhanced his stats a bit, it was easy for him to catch the Magikarp.

Mark got out of the river and killed the Magikarp immediately. Once the Magikarp died, it shone slightly, and then, an orb was dropped. Mark was surprised that he got a drop. He checked the orb and it was the HP+5 stat orb.

With this orb, he could absorb it to increase his stat. Since his potential was G grade, it would take him 5 hours to absorb one stat point. Since there were five points, it would take him 25 hours to absorb all the stats.

It took him a bit too long to absorb but it was better than nothing. He at least had something to absorb. He decided to try again and jumped in the river.

He got out of the river and with him was another Magikarp. He killed it and once again, he got an orb. This time it was the SPDEF+2 stat orb.

'Is this because of the special skill?' He decided to try again.

A few hours later. Mark was staring at the pile of orbs he got. He caught about 13 Magikarp including the two from earlier and got 13 stat orbs.

"…" Mark was speechless. He had this 'unbelievable' face. He was convinced that the special skill was real. He decided to give a try to the Drop Fusion special skill.

Mark took two HP stat orbs and, "How do I use that skill?" He was clueless. He decided to voice the skill name. "Drop Fusion," he said with a whisper as he was afraid people would hear him.

Once he said that the two HP stat orbs combine into one. "…" Mark was speechless once again. He checked the fused HP stat orb and it was now HP+8. He used the HP+5 he got earlier with HP+3 he got after that.

'This helps me save some space…' thought Mark. After that, he decided to fuse all the orbs with the same stat. After that, the 13 orbs were now left with four orbs. Mark did not get any ATK and DEF stat orbs.

'What happens if I fuse them?' Mark tried to fuse two different stat orbs and it was not working. He found the limit to it. He was not sure for other drops but for stat orbs, only those of the same type could be fused.

"This is useful!" Mark put the orbs in his bag and decided to catch a few more Magikarp. If he got Magikarp soul, that would be helpful to his max stat.
