20 Zone One's Completion!

Gan sat back silently and rest against a tree as he observed the happy children catching and battling Pokemon. Of course, he couldn't say the same thing about those Caterpies running for their freedom.

What he needed was one more Pokemon, so he could finally get his hands on his very own Pokedex.

Gan would camp in this forest if he had to, he just needed to evolve Weedle anyway. Gan reached into his storage and tossed the Pokeball holding Weedle. Weedle laid stiffly on the ground, it seemed that it was still suffering from being slapped silly earlier.

Gan gave it a big spray of a Potion, which healed it fully. Weedle didn't have much hp, and with the talent this Weedle currently had, it was already amazing that it had made it to level 5 by itself. Weedle rolled back on its nubs after being sprayed, it had been fully restored after 1 potion.

"Wee..." Weedle looked around and gave a small sound of curiosity.

"Listen here, you're going to be training, do you understand?" Gan looked at Weedle and said. He almost reached over to see if he could honk its nose like a clown.

"Weewee!" Weedle understood and nodded its head.

Gan could just leave here and head to Route 22 where he could catch a Nidoran male or female, but he was already here. He thought he could just train this Weedle and let it evolve here and now.

Gan could just have it fight Caterpies, it was an easy target for it to defeat. Weedle had the overall advantage over Caterpie in the early game, but later it was defeated by Butterfree. Well, that was if it didn't Mega Evolve.

Beedrill was too strong once it Mega Evolved!

Gan had dreams in this world, he didn't want to be tied to Team Rocket forever. Perhaps, later he would make his own organization, who knows? Every organization had a Legendary Pokemon they idolized.

Team Rocket = MewTwo and Poison-type.

Team Magma = Groudon and Ground-type

Team Aqua = Kyogre and Water-type

Team Galactic = Palkia and Dialga

Team Plasma = Reshiram and Zekrom

..... etc.

Gan thought maybe Arceus for his choice, but that Pokemon was simply too hard to catch and find.

He stood up and recalled Weedle and left the area quickly. Gan needed to find a decent opponent for this fella. Of course, Caterpie was the only logical choice for it to fight among the Pokemon in this forest.

Gan told the guards that he would be back, and they only nodded in return as he went on his way. He had a lot to do, he had already begun to plan but he needed to scope that place out in the future.

Gan had to at least rob a few things from Professor Oak's lab, he was sure that there were some amazing things there. From the show, there were eggs in incubators, Pokemon, and more. Of course, he would have tread cautiously and quickly before doing anything.

He had to make preparations.

It was no telling how long Gan had walked, but he spotted two Caterpie together. He inspected them and found that they were both at level five, with both having 1-star talent. Gan summoned Koffing, Geodude, and Weedle.

Geodude and Koffing were sort of like guards, making sure nothing unexpected happened and ensuring that the Caterpie didn't escape.

Gan quickly gave the order and Weedle lunged at one of the Caterpie like a harpoon, baring its sharp horn. He had ordered it to use Poison Sting, this was better than Caterpie's tackle move. One of the Caterpie looked once and was stunned seeing the sudden change in events.

He wasn't stunned long before he was impaled by Weedle's horn, the other Caterpie wanted to high tail it out of there.

"Not such a good friend, are you? There are two of you and one of him." Gan shook his head. Too bad, that Caterpie had its exit blocked by Koffing, who still had that same derpy smile across its face.

Weedle continued to beat down the Caterpie from before, it had even poisoned it. The Caterpie that tried to squirm away panicked because he couldn't escape unless it got pass this strange creature before it.

So, it attacked in desperation and Koffing tackled back, knocking Caterpie away with ease. Eventually, the Caterpie from before was defeated in its fight with Weedle. Pokemon like Pinsir and Scyther ate Weedle and Caterpie like snacks.

Weedle didn't level up but it went over to quickly fight the other Caterpie. After a while, it managed to beat both of them. Sadly, it didn't hit 6 but this was to be expected; Caterpie hardly gave any exp unless it was in the hands of a trainer.

Gan tossed the Caterpie into the forest, so they could heal themselves later safely. He decided to head back into Butterfree's territory but in a different location. He walked for about 20 to 30 minutes, as he looked into the trees he passed by.

His targets were Metapods, they should prove to give Weedle a good amount of experience. Just as he was looking into the trees, his eyes caught sight of something strange. Gan crotched down to not frighten the Pokemon he had spotted.

It was eating berries off a bush, they appeared to be raspberries from what Gan could see. Its long tongue and vines that came from its body made it easier to just take berries off the bush in succession. The Pokemon he spotted was a rare sight in Viridian Forest, so he was happy to have found it.

It was a Bulbasaur!

It was stuffing berries into its mouth quickly, it was using the vines on its back and its long tongue to pick berries. Well, the vines came out of the pod on its back, so they didn't exactly show at first.

"Its Talent isn't that bad, but it could be better." Gan didn't have any use for Grass-type Pokemon, but he needed to add Bulbasaur to his dex. If he caught this Pokemon, he would still need to level up Weedle to Kukuna.

"Koffing, you know what you have to do. Be sneaky with it; this Pokemon can jump into the forest and disappear in a flash." Bulbasaur was good at fleeing, once it jumped into the forest it was practically gone at that point.

All Koffing needed was one Flamethrower to put it down, it only needed one to put anything down around here really. Koffing floated over silently; Flamethrower would make a scorching sound once it was launched so it may dodge if Koffing was too far away.

Once Koffing was close enough, it puffed and then spewed a flamethrower from its mouth.

"Bulba..." Bulbasaur still had some berries in its mouth when they fell out. It only saw a bright light heading its way before a puff of flames engulfed it. The fire only lasted for a second before Koffing stopped, it didn't need much to defeat a low-level Pokemon with a move it was weak against.

Gan could only imagine trying to catch Pokemon like Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos. Moltres would melt a Pokeball before it could even get close to it. Articuno was no different, it would turn a Pokeball into an iceball before it could reach it.

Gan tossed a regular Pokeball at Bulbasaur, it had already formed those strange whirls in its eyes. He was confident in catching Pokemon, he just needed to find them first. Once he tossed his Pokeball, it was miraculously knocked away by Bulbasaur—who had come to its sanity.

"Are you kidding me?" Gan frowned. Bulbasaur struggled to stand up, but Gan wasn't letting it off, he could have sworn this Pokemon had fainted. Koffing launched some sludge at it; sending it crashing into a tree nearby.

Gan knew it was done for this time, but he was surprised that it could stand from last time. This time it was a success, he had managed to catch it.

Gan didn't hear any alarms go off, but when he looked again he saw that it said 35 Pokemon needed to be caught.

"Damn, I mistook it for 30, hahaha!" Gan laughed. He thought he needed 30 Pokemon caught, not 35. Afterward, he walked deeper into Butterfree's territory where he finally saw a good amount of Metapod hanging from trees.

All of his Pokemon were called to duty, he ordered Geodude to toss Weedle at one of those Metapod. Gan also told Koffing to catch Weedle when it fell after its attack.

Geodude complied and grabbed Weedle; tossing it like a harpoon at one of the Metapod.

"Meta..!" All of them turned in succession toward Gan and his group. However, it was too late for all of that; one of them was nailed by Weedle's horn. Once it was hit, it fell off the tree and landed on the ground.

It didn't get hurt from the fall because it had used harden to prevent it from taking too much fall damage. Koffing went over and quickly caught Weedle, it landed on its head/body, and was put back onto the ground safely.

Metapod leaned up, it had no legs but it could sit upright. There was no clear expression on Metapod's face, but its eyes held a lot of meaning, it wasn't happy at all with this setting.

Geodude assisted Weedle as they fought several Metapod. After 2 hours of fighting, it finally evolved into a Kukuna. Weedle sprayed a spring shot into the air, as its body was wrapped in it.

Weedle's body was flashing with bright light during the process until it was a Kukuna.

Gan sighed, its talent was truly trash, he had to make sure he never bothered to train a 1-star Pokemon no matter what! It took 2 hours to reach 2 levels, this was simply too garbage of a Pokemon!

Gan had his own marker, he had caught every Pokemon in Mt. Moon and on Route 3. He had caught every Pokemon in Zone One of Viridian Forest at this point as well.

Now he wanted to head to Viridian City, then towards Route 22.

All the while, Magikarp was leveling up, it was at level thirteen now. Geodude went up two levels, while Koffing didn't level up.

"Welp... time to go." Gan turned around and headed toward the exit in order to reach Viridian City. He would come to this place in the future for hunting, but that would only be for Zone One and Two for a time.
