Junior Tournament Part-1!

Everyone was picking up Poke balls and looking between the ones in their hands. Mrs. Linen explained that the pokemon used would be only from Kanto and Johto. This made everyone nod with understanding as both regions were basically related.

"Hmm..." Roy saw aura colorations around every Poke ball, some had two auras which indicated that the pokemon inside had more than one type.

"I need a balanced team to really come out on top." Roy's attention was instantly drawn to a Poke ball with a Pink aura. He knew that this was a fairy-type pokemon from the test he had conducted over the years.

He went to school and they showed them many types of pokemon in person. This was when they were in their Poke balls and out.

Roy wasted no time and grabbed two more Poke balls with a smile before walking away. He grabbed a Poke ball that had a Dark orange aura around it and a Poke ball with a Gray and Yellow gleaming aura around it.

Afterward, Roy went to Mrs. Linen to finalize his pokemon. There were others who had finished picking pokemon before him, though.

"There's a door over there, once it is your turn, you can go in and check your pokemon. There are three machines inside that will also allow you to check your pokemon's move set for battle. There is a pokemon trainer inside to watch you, so nothing will go wrong."

"I understand, thanks." Roy nodded before turning to the door. There were three kids in front of him ready to go inside and check their pokemon. Only three people could go inside at once, which lead to three different rooms.

Roy was a little speechless, how many rooms and doors did this place have? The competition was going to start in one hour, so they only had so long to do these things. Five minutes later, it was Roy's turn to check his pokemon.

Once he walked inside, there were indeed three doors to choose from. They were several meters away from each other. Roy chose one and walked inside, where he saw a bald man standing next to the machine.

Next to the man was a Golduck who had its arms folded together in a somewhat haughty manner.

'Not bad.' Roy thought

"Hey, kid, I'll get straight to it. This machine will check the moves of your pokemon, you will just need to place the Poke ball in this socket and press this button." The man point to the socket that could fit a Poke ball before showing him a blue button.

Roy gazed at the large machine, it wasn't like he needed it but he would use it anyway. It would be strange if they came to know he didn't require a machine to know a random pokemon's moves.

"You can first summon your pokemon to see them and then check their moves." The bald-headed man instructed.

'Right..." Without hesitation, Roy tossed all three at once

Roy knitted his eyebrows, were they supposed to have the same aptitude? All in all, Roy was satisfied with this lineup. Roy quickly recalled them all with a smile before walking toward the machine to 'check their moves'.

Once this was done, he left the chamber and sat to himself. Everyone in the room was an enemy he had to defeat to rise to the next stage.

Some of the kids were looking at one another with hostility, their gazes weren't at all friendly. None of them tried to talk to each other or befriend one another.

"Alright, everyone, it's time for the big battle!" Mrs. Linen stood up and continued, "I hope everyone can remember the move sets of your pokemon."

The pokemon were already commanded to listen to the trainer they were with. They wouldn't disobey a command, this was especially so with their low level.

Everyone left toward the colosseum where the battles would be taking place. Soon, Roy could hear the sound of cheer resonating from afar. All the while, other groups appeared and proceeded to head toward the main battle arena as well.

Once they all appeared in the main area, Roy checked the stances. However, he found that there were far more empty spots than there were people. After all, this tourney wasn't all that amazing, it wasn't a mainstream tourney.

Roy found his sister and brother among the students and he nodded their way. They too—did the same thing in return. Their expression and eyes had changed, he had never seen them so serious before.

There were a total of 16 battlefields, the typical ones you'd see in the show. He saw several Mr. Mimes around each battlefield. Roy scanned them and found that they were all at level 50.

All of the group split up and went to other respective parts of the large colosseum for battle.

"Alright, we're going to start." Sixteen people were stationed to compete on separate battlefields. Once a competitor cleared out his or her opponents, he or she would fight the winner of the other purple group set—in one final battle.

"After you lose, you will be escorted out. The winner of the match will be taken to the back to change his team for round two. Yes, you will switch teams, and you will not keep the same team throughout the tourney."

The referee quickly explained.

Group 1 of the Purple group.

"First match"

"Louis vs Ron! Step up and prepare!" Both quickly went and prepared for battle.

"Alright, let the match begin!" The referee waved his flag and said.

"You're up, Tyrogue!" Louis said.

"Come out, Pichu!" Ron tossed his Poke ball

Tyrogue called out its name and got into a fighting stance.

"Chu" Pichu flashed with a yellow light before its eyes landed on the hostile Tyrouge.

"Thundershock, let go!" Ron immediately commanded.

"Quickly, dodge it and rush Pichu, and hit it with a Fake out!" Louis yelled seriously.

Tyrouge was fast, this was fake out, so it was a Priority attack. Pichu was stunned, it could barely see Tyrouge, but it still used Thundershock to attack what it could make out.

"Uh, oh, cancel Thundeshock, get out there!" Ron hurriedly said. However, it was too late—Pichu couldn't cancel its attack in time. Tyrouge dodged every bolting streak of lightning, due to fake enhancing its speed through priority.

"Chu!" Pichu tried to back away, but it was slapped on both its cheeks by Tyrouge and stunned on the spot, it seemed shocked.

"Mega Punch, Let's go!" Louis punched out full of energy. Tyrouge was fast, its fist lit up with white light before colliding into Pichu's face.

CHuuuuu!

A small dust cloud swooped up as Pichu was sent flying out of the battlefield.

"Pichu is unable to battle, and Tyrouge wins this bout!" The referee waved his flag and said. Suddenly, jolts of lightning appeared around Tyrouge—indicating that it was paralyzed!

"What?" Louis was stunned.

Roy nodded, he had already analyzed Pichu and found that its ability was Static. He also discovered that everyone's pokemon indeed had the same aptitude and level.

Although Louis was stunned, he smiled in return. This was because he was aware of Tyrouge's ability.

It being paralyzed only made it stronger.

"Dang, it!" Ron recalled Pichu in anger. Roy knew these matches would end fast because they lacked experience.

"Go, Drowzee, you're up!" Ron's tone was full of confidence.

"Drowzee, you Reflect!" Ron commanded as soon as Drowzee appeared. Drowzee twinkled its fingers and a blue barrier appeared before disappearing to the naked eye.

"Tyrouge, again, us Mega Punch!" Louis smirked and ordered.

"Do you think that's going to work again? Drowzee, use Disable." Ron sneered.

Drowzee's eyes flashed with white light. Tyrogue, whose fist had been flaring up with white light as well—was immediately canceled out. Even so, Tyrouge was moving so slowly that it probably wouldn't be able to touch Drowzee.

"Not good!" Louis's expression changed.

"Confusion!" Ron ordered. Drowzee twinkled its fingers as its eyes lit up with blue light. Tyrouge was lifted off the ground before being slammed into it and thrown into a wall close by. It gave a small yelp in pain before going silent.

"Hehe, what can you do now?" Ron had faith in Drowzee, it was a powerful Psychic type.

"We'll see, go Charmander!" Louis recalled Tyrouge right away and called forth his next pokemon.

Roy didn't look at the battle anyone and closed his eyes to await his turn. Time passed and the winner was Ron. His Drowzee was simply too hard to deal with for any of Louis's team members.

Both were escorted away, Louis was so sad that he couldn't stop crying. They told him he had his whole future ahead of him and that this tourney was nothing. Ron went to get a different team to fight in his next battle.

The next match was a game that was relatively quick. They both seemed like noobs and didn't bother dodging each other's attacks. This wasn't the same for the 3rd match, it was intense and the trainers were more skilled.

"Final battle of round one. Kalvin vs Roy! Both contestants please get into position."

"So, it's finally my turn." Roy took a deep breath and walked to the battlefield.
