9 Arrival at Pallet Town

Walking along a dirt road that leads into a small town where the air was fresh and contained the sweet scent of berry trees and various fruit. Many bug and bird Pokemon are crossing the route and throughout the endless green fields. Various fields had fences that seemed to contain Miltanks, Tauros, and some Mareep.

Lan learned many things about the farm life of people in the Kanto region from Old J.

Lan kept muttering to himself "Old J was correct in saying that many farmers here in Kanto region seem very keen on raising these three types of Pokemon. I also saw some people riding what they call Ryhorns. This Kanto region seems to have many Pokemon from Johto as well. I wonder why in Hoenn we don't have many Pokemon from the different regions."

Lan finds himself enjoying the atmosphere of the countryside and keeps on walking till he sees a wooden sign just off of the route. It Read :

"Pallet Town: Where an Adventure Awaits"

Lan: "Hmmm that slogan is a little cheesy but it's not that bad. Old man wanted to create a slogan for Littleroot but he is just so bad at literary things like that."

Lan continued to walk casually into the town. If anyone would see Lan right now he seems to not have a care in the world with his nonchalant attitude.

Although Lan had to walk through many dangerous places where many trainers need the help of Pokemon all of his clothes are intact. Everything seemed normal except for a small Pidgy that had nestled in his hair from his trip through the Forrest.

Today he dressed up to make a good impression so he wore a light gold t-shirt along with black shorts and no shoes since shoes are a hindrance.

May picked out the outfit a year or so ago and said "Where all of these together and it will complement your golden eyes and by doing this you make a good impression on people" Lan had to try. He was never good with clothes but most likely he just didn't care.

Turning down the road he looked up the hill. There was a large simple House that seemed to fit into the countryside scenery with an extremely tall windmill.

<whistle…whistle>

"Man this place feels similar to LittleRoot"

Lan walked towards the windmill because according to Old J this structure indicated Professor Oaks Laboratory.

Walking along the trail trying to evaluate the picket fence at the bottom of the hill that belongs to the lab. He wasn't sure whether to do knock here or go up to the Labs door.

<sigh>

While eventually deciding to jump the fence and go knock on the door.

Walking up the hill Lan hears many roars and noises coming from the forest situated behind the lab. A smile crept on his face but it was still returned to normal as quickly as it came.

[Lan POV]

Knocking on the door of the lab three times and thinking back 'Norman always told me to knock three times whenever I enter someone else home. Why does he always have to be correct me on these simple things? I feel like I am becoming more like the Old Man each day. This is troublesome…'

Rustling could be heard behind the door. Suddenly the door quickly swung open and a girl an inch shorter than me was in the doorway. She had long brown hair and light brown eyes that contained a gentle aura that completed her look. She was dressed in a white blazer and purple top with jeans that seemed pretty trendy.

I was stunned for a second and ended up starring for a little too long. Embarrassed I mumble " Hh-hello m-my name is Lan Birch" while I bow. My face turned red but it was hidden when I suddenly bowed .

During the bow, I moved my head too abruptly and the sleeping piggy in my hair woke up startled, it then started to peck my head then eventually took flight into the sky.

The girl was stunned as well and started to laugh while trying to politely covering her mouth.

Lan was entranced by the gracefulness and demeanor of the girl. But he quickly snapped out of it and went back to his slightly smiling face.

Daisy: "Pfft sorry … My name is Daisy Oak. Are you here by chance looking for my grandfather? If so I can help. This side of the house is the actual house why the laboratory is located at the other end of the building. The door is a little hard to find because most visitors go through the entrance by the garage on the side of the building. If you want I can lead you there"

Lan nodded seemingly in a daze.

Daisy: 'He is pretty clumsy but it makes him kind of cute. Just WHAT am I saying ?!?! Calm down now Daisy….'

Looking back at him and thinking 'he kind of has a carefree aura around him. Is he the researcher that Grandpa was expecting? He seems to have a different way to how he interacts with Pokemon which is kind of refreshing'

Clueless to Daisy's Inner monologue Lan follows Daisy towards the Lab entrance wondering 'I wonder which type of food are the specialties around here. Whatever the food that I could smell when Daisy opened that door made me pretty hungry. Maybe Professor Oak will have some snacks and such when we arrive.'

Daisy and Lan arrive at the Lab's door and enter the Lab.
