The Executives and Aftermath

Team Rocket Main Base:

"Archer, are we taking kids from the Viridian Orphanage this year?" said a mohawk styled purple-haired guy.

"Petrel, this year will be the last of the trials after which we will go into rapid expansion. So, we need to get as many as possible and make sure that there is someone talented enough to replace that old man. This time around we will be taking as many as possible and the competition for clearing this year trials will be ruthless." said the short-haired executive leader with a blank expression. His Cyan coloured hair makes him stand out among the four executives present here.

"Hehe, the more they die the more fun it will get. I think I will go monitor one of the trials, the despair on those young kids faces when they die will be a treat to savour," said the green-haired executive, he was licking his lips and enjoyed the imaginary visual.

"Shut up Proton, keep your psychopathic dreams away from here, we are having a serious discussion here. We need at least five talented people that can join the ranks of elites. Considering our last three years, we barely got ten children who have potential," said a red-haired lady, she looked like she is barely in her early twenties. She is the youngest of the four executives.

"Ignore him, Ariana, you know him right? Just act as if he doesn't exist here. He never cared about the trials anyway," said Petrel. Petrel is in his early thirties and probably the most honest guy among all of Team Rocket members. Petrel is a chilled guy and blabbers the truth out without caring for the consequences, he is a complete opposite of Proton who is the most ruthless among the four executives. Archer the leader is the oldest and calmest executive, he acts carefully according to the situation, while Ariana is the newest executive who joined Team Rocket twelve years ago.

Among the four executives, Ariana is the most unpredictable character. Sometimes even the ruthless Proton is wary of her, she goes berserk if someone gets on her nerves. Archer is the strongest executive who is on par with Agatha of elite four. Some people in Team Rocket believe that he can pull off a tie against Boss Giovanni, Archer is considered as a devote follower of Giovanni and never says no to an order given by him.

Proton has the power of an elite four and there is not a single positive side to him, he likes to play with the weaklings, disposes them off if bored. Most of the time he plays around skipping the missions given by Archer. He is only afraid of Giovanni, probably the only one who puts him in check. Purple-haired Petrel is considered the weakest team rocket executive, he can barely pass to be on par with elite four members of the league. Some rumours say that he is hiding his power and is as strong as their leader Archer.

Archer looks calmly at the useless bantering and intervenes it before this goes out of topic, "Everyone stay focussed on the current task, this year trials are very important and I don't want any abnormalities. Unlike the previous years, we will have different rules this time around. No matter what, I don't want any of you to snatch the Pokemon of the trial takers. Warn the elites and team captains, this is an order from the Boss. No pulling strings behind the back or recruiting without consent, no official members of Team Rocket should get involved in the trials. Deaths are allowed only if the trial takers kill among themselves. Trial tasks and other rules will be announced on day1 of the trials."

"tschhhh..... What's the fun in that, I thought I can find a good potential pokemon through them. Now, I need to go find it somewhere else, I think I won't be going to oversee this year," said Proton annoyingly.

Archer looks at Proton and warns him again, " Don't give me that face Proton, you are the one who is responsible for all this, a decade ago you started this by snatching high potential Pokemon from the trial takers, all of the other elites followed your example and look where we are now. Barely produced three talented people every year. Because this is the last year, Boss gave strict orders so restrict yourself."

After hearing what Archer said, even Ariana nodded in understanding. Petrel had a happy expression looking at Proton getting warned as if saying 'Serves him right'.

"Ok, the meeting is over and commence the plan in two weeks. We are going to do this early this time around, they are rumours about League tapping our whereabouts. We will catch them by surprise."

They ended the meeting at that. Petrel walked out of the base and summoned a huge six feet tall Braviary, he climbed over it and Braviary took off towards an unknown island. He had many thoughts about today's meeting and was happy with the new rules that were implemented.

People assume Petrel to be a scary guy because of his mohawk hairstyle and the purple coloured hair, only those who are under him know that Petrel is the easiest to work with among the four executives. His only weakness is that he is too nice to be in Team Rocket where being merciless is the basic requirement

4 days later in Viridian Human Centre:

"Miss Joy, the new patient got up." said an assistant.

"Oh, then I will be there in a minute," said the ever-youthful Nurse Joy.

Miss Vanessa from Orphanage had admitted a young orphan kid four days ago saying he fainted suddenly and did not know what happened. After checking his condition, they found out that everything was normal and the body had no abnormalities. Still, the kid had not woken up and Nurse Joy was anxious about his condition. After hearing that the kid woke up, she ran upstairs to check him.

Inside an unknown hospital Ward:

The bright light was hitting my eyes and I felt refreshed. I could see everything more clearly and feel like I could remember every situation that happened to me and the exact details regarding those situations. Is this the power of getting awakened? I still did not know the extent of my abilities, I don't know how to move objects or make them levitate. I think I should ask Professor Oak about it, at the least I can get a manual for psychic beginners.

I look around and I find myself in a hospital similar to that of Earth's. There are some unrecognisable equipment but who cares. I need to first plan my twenty days well, I need to learn as much as possible before I get shut down from the resources I get. As I was thinking I hear someone knocking the door.

"Come in," I said. As soon as I said that, a beautiful lady walked in. She looked similar to that of Nurse Joy from the anime. She had pale skin that was spotless and had a perfect figure. I think she is in her late twenties, she was smiling at me showing her perfect white teeth. 'Damn this world, why is she so perfect.'

"Jay, I am glad that you are doing well. Vanessa admitted you three days ago so do you remember anything before you fainted?" she said.

"ah...Thank you, Miss Nurse Joy. I don't remember anything, I was reading a book like I always do and blanked out. When I opened my eyes, I find myself in a hospital," I said without panicking.

"Oh okay, then I don't know what exactly happened to you, we tried to check some abnormalities but you were perfectly fine. I think that's a good thing that there were no problems. You can get back to the orphanage after getting discharged in an hour. Don't worry about the fees, it is covered by the league as you are an orphan under twelve years," she said.

"Thanks for the treatment, Miss Joy. I will do the following procedures and move out."

13 days later(On the night of Abduction)

In the last two weeks I did all the research I need to train Pokemon and got the mentorship of Professor Oak through online calls. I never expected him to leave an Xtransceiver with Miss Vanessa along with his contact number. He gave some basic tips on what to avoid while training and what types are best for a starter Pokemon. According to him, it's better to avoid poison and ghost types for beginners as they are the most ruthless. He also told to not catch a dragon type before having at least four Pokemon. Dark types must also be avoided unless it's a baby pokemon, he taught me about some berries in the wild which can be helpful during a crisis.

Overall it was a good experience and I am looking forward to the harsh bright future ahead. I know it's going to be hard but I also know that I can persist as I found out from Alakazam that I am a medium grade psychic. I can talk to Pokemon by establishing a connection through the mind, but to do that I need to have the consent of the Pokemon, otherwise there will be a mind barrier restriction. I read a book given by Professor Oak which states that only the

purest grade psychics can teleport, I was disappointed at first but I also found out that only one in a million can be a psychic. Meditation was the only way that can improve your abilities so I started practising it before bed. As for telekinesis, it's still hard for me but Alakazam said it takes a lot of practice to get hold of it.

Yesterday I got some items delivered to me from Oak. Using our previous deal, I planned to get a lot of items from the Professor but was directly rejected. He said I need to earn them and cannot be handed freely, I think I can understand him though. If I get everything I wanted then I will become lazy and complacent. He still sent me three important items as a parting gift before I lose contact with him for who knows how long?

The first item was an Everstone. In the Pokemon world, everstone is very important for top trainers, it helps Pokemon suppress their evolution until they reach peak state in their current form. It's not too costly as many top trainers use it but it's still can't be afforded by intermediate-level trainers.

The Second item is Scope lens, it's pretty rare in the market and you need a hefty amount to get it. It makes it easier for Pokemon to spot the opponent's weak spots and helps them deliver an impactful blow.

The final item is a Lagging tail. It's very smaller in size than I imagined, it's an item that increases the weight burden on the holder that carries it. It's a magical item because when a human holds it, it is as light as a feather. I put all the items in my under pockets to avoid stealing, I think I can even buy an Advanced Green potential Pokemon by selling all of them. Lagging tail is the costliest item among all these as it's developed by Devon Corporation using high-level technology. There are also some cheaper gravity equipment sets which have weight adjustment option to some extent.

Lagging tail adjusts the weight by itself considering the burden on Pokemon limits. That's the reason it's very costly and is highly sought among the elite level trainer.

Even after getting these items, I still feel that my life is going to be like hell from here on. My psychic senses are tingling rapidly today and I am not sure why? As I was thinking about the items that were gifted by the Professor, I suddenly fell asleep.

"The new spray is working perfectly boss, I just sprayed it in the dorms and I can confirm that everyone is in deep sleep. They won't wake up for the next 12 hours and it's safe to start the mission," said a random grunt.

"Shut up you magot, I know that it works. Just get those kids and pile them up in the truck. Our job is to deliver it to the port within an hour so don't waste my time," said the Captain responsible for the abduction in Viridian Orphanage.

The grunt ran away in a panic to not anger his captain anymore, all the grunts took away the kids in the eleven-year-old Dorm. Miss Vanessa was responsible for showing whom to take away and whom to leave. Her job is to point out the kids with at least a minimum potential. Among those Jay was also one of them.

Just in ten minutes, more than twenty kids were in the truck outside the orphanage. Captain asked the driver to start the truck and just a minute after the passage of the truck, the orphanage was as normal as the before night.

That was the biggest chapter I ever wrote, more than 2200 words and I am planning to write every chapter with at least 1500 words. I think it's better to have larger chapters than publishing multiple short chapters.
