65 Chapter 65

Aizen did not know whether to laugh or cry at the secret glances Misty and Leaf kept taking in his and Sabrina's direction for the next few hours. The clarification Anira gave them only made them more curious, and in Misty's case, more restless.

The beautiful reason for this mess was oblivious to the tension in the air, and she silently sat on the upper deck, meditating.

At lunchtime, Anira invited Sabrina to eat with them, and the latter obliged and sat right next to Aizen. She meant no harm, but it made Misty more tense about her presence.

Leaf did engage in a simple conversation with her and soon understood that she needed to be the one to lead any conversation she holds with her. Sabrina did not seem interested in anything.

The girl from Pallet Town was shocked to learn that Sabrina was a Vertress Conference Winner and spent the rest of the time of their journey looking up the videos of her Vertress Conference matches on the internet. By the time their boat docked at Sayda Island, Sabrina had gained a new fan that did not care about her indifference to everything, and happily asked her questions. It helped that she answered every question Leaf had.

After the announcement by the Captain, all the Trainers stepped onto the Island and were greeted by Dora and Jared. Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny were present by their side as well.

The two Professors were surprised to see Aizen among the Trainers that arrived on the Island for the event, however, they did not come forward to greet him to save him from the curiosity of the people around him.

"Welcome to the Sayda Pokemon Reserve Island!" Dora called out as soon as everyone was assembled in front of the vans waiting for them. "I and my Team are happy to have you here for the event, and I hope you have read through the laws that you have to abide by when you are on the Island." She seriously said.

"Before you board the vans that will take you to the Sayda Island Pokemon Center, all your Pokedex will be checked to confirm your identities as well as see your registered Pokemon. You are not allowed to catch any Red Listed Pokemon on this Island. If you are found in violation of the law, your Trainer License could get suspended." Jared warned them. "Red Listed Pokemon on this Island include Lapras, Farfetch'd, Stantler, and Kangaskhan. In case you develop a bond with a Red-Listed Pokemon, and it wants to come with you, you have to inform Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny about it. Only after their permission are you allowed to capture that Pokémon. Is that understood?"

"Yes!" Most of the Trainers answered in unison and others nodded.

"You must not camp out on the Island and always report back at the Pokemon Center by 10 pm. If you do not check in the Center by that time, a search and rescue party will be sent out after you. Know that there are some dangerous Pokemon on this Island which include Aerodactyl, Kabutops, Scyther, Beedrill, Pinsir, and Dodrio. It is advised that you travel in groups when you are out to explore. Also, I highly advise against antagonising Aerodactyl, Kangaskhan, and Kabutops. They are not known to show mercy when raged." He grimly said. "Now, step forward one by one and let Nurse Joy run a check on your Pokedex."

Jared signalled to Aizen to wait for the other Trainers to pass first. And when all the Trainers boarded, the vans left, taking them to the Pokemon Center, the two Professors approached him and the girls.

"It's good to see you, Aizen." Dora greeted Aizen with a hug and then smiled brightly at Anira. "You have grown up, Princess."

The siblings smiled at her and then greeted Jared, who was accompanied by a little girl of around nine years.

"This is Crystal, my little sister." Dora introduced.

"Hi!" Crystal happily raised her hand and waved it.

After a round of introductions, everyone boarded Jared's truck and travelled to the Sayda Island Pokemon Center.

Anira invited Sabrina to stay with the girls in their Suite, and Aizen spent the next few hours with Jared and Dora in the laboratory that was right next to the Center, talking about their Research Work and the current state of the Island.

The work the two of them had put into making sure the Island stays a haven for the Pokemon was commendable. In just six years since they took charge of the Reserve, the population of visiting schools of Lapras to the island had tripled. The number of Farfetch'd was slowly rising, and the Stantler were all over the place. Kangaskhan were thriving in their territory. The trading that once happened on the berries of Sayda Island had finally ended too. Now the Pokemon had ample amount of food in the forests, and the ecological cycle was stable.

The security of the Island was in the capable hands of a group of Pokemon Rangers stationed here by Indigo and Silver Councils. And with a newly established Pokemon Center, everything was set to open the Island to the Public.

"So when is the little one coming to this world?" Aizen grinned and asked, which made the couple smile brightly.

"The baby is due in six months." Dora happily informed him.

"Our little one will be present at the Indigo and Silver Plateau to cheer for you." Jared patted his shoulder and laughed some. "And you better win it."

"I don't plan on losing." He answered with a confident smile.

The three of them joined the girls in their suite for dinner. Crystal was getting along very well with the girls, and she was in love with their Pokemon. Her happiness was intoxicating, and the girls couldn't help but join in with her to play with the Pokemon.

Everyone had dinner together, and then Dora informed them of the schedule for the next three days. As per the rules, only Trainers were allowed to explore the Oldstone Canyon, but Jared and Dora assured Anira that she could accompany them and Cystral on the exploration as they monitored the Trainers.

The day ended with an event that made it even more memorable. It was the birth of Leaf's Staryu. The Incubator sounded a beep when the egg started glowing. The hazel-eyed girl was just as anxious as she was happy, and her expressions were absolutely adorable when the small star Pokemon appeared before their eyes from a curtain of blinding white light.

Leaf carefully scooped it up in her arms and affectionately smiled at it. Staryu's crystal was blinking from time to time as it got used to her arms and the environment around it. Only after it had settled down, did Leaf capture it. She called it out right after that, and then the girls stayed up late, playing with the new Pokemon.

Of course, there was one person who did not join them. Sabrina indifferently congratulated Leaf and then took her leave. She went to her room and started meditating for the night.

Aizen checked on her right before he went to bed, and could only sigh sadly at finding that she was meditating. Sabrina no longer slept. She gave her mind and body rest by meditating. He knew that her health was in no danger because of this, but it still saddened him that she had deprived herself of the privilege of sleeping.

However, something did make him happy as well. It was the presence of Mega Alakazam that was floating in the air, right by the side of Sabrina, as well as the Delphox that was on her Trainer's other side of the bed. Both the Pokemon were mediating just like their Trainer.

They were powerful Pokemon, and highly protective of Sabrina. Their eyes briefly opened when Aizen knocked on the door and entered the room, but then they closed them after sensing the friendly Aura emanating from the Orayen Prince. He was glad to see that Sabrina's state had not influenced the emotions of her Pokemon.

He took his leave after wishing them good night and fell asleep as soon as he lay on the bed. It had been a long day.
