28 Auction Part 1
A/N: I hope you guys did not forget to read the chapter before the poll. I posted both at the same time so I hope you guys did not directly open the poll and forgot about it.

I sat on the couch while looking at the transparent glass. Other VIP rooms had it too but the glass was only one-way see-through. I couldn't see the people beyond the glass of other VIP rooms.
"All VIP rooms are numbered. The royal family takes the first three while the Duke family takes the next four. Ours is VIP room number 4," explained Ethan making me gaze at Room numbers 1 and 2 on the opposite side.

I was rather silent because Lord Daemon sitting across. I would be lying if I said I was not uncomfortable.
He also seemed to notice the unusual silence,
"Are you planning to buy anything?" asked Duke Daemon gazing at Ethan and me.
"Probably, but depends on the items auctioned," said Ethan while I gave a mechanical nod.
"Knock... Knock...."
We heard someone knock on the door.
The Duke immediately got up and said,
"Ok kids, that's my signal. I have a meeting with the Crown Prince, you guys enjoy the auction, I will see you at lunch."
We raised our brows in surprise as both of us did not expect the Crown Prince to attend the auction. Ethan nodded at that and gave the Duke a goodbye hug. The Duke gave a final nod at me and left immediately.
"Phewww" I sighed out loud.
"That was extremely nerve-racking. Although your father doesn't have the same oppressive aura as professor Arden, he has a total killer vibe. I couldn't even make eye contact while speaking to him" I said stretching out my knees while comfortably sitting on the sofa.
"Well, he is not an approachable man, unless you know him personally," said Ethan releasing his Munna.
I too did the same by releasing Elekid and Gastly,
[Ah finally out!!] said Gastly roaming around the room. Munna immediately moved towards Ethan avoiding the hyper Gastly.
"Gastly, don't bother Munna," I said with a stern gaze making Gastly grin in happiness.
I gave an apologetic look at Ethan to which he gave a simple nod.
Elekid instead got close to the glass and took a curious peek at the crowd on the ground floor.
[Damn, this place is huge. What do they sell here? Any good batteries?] he asked turning back at me.
I deadpanned at him and said,
"Maybe. I am not so sure. Let's just sit back and see."
I then realized something and turned towards Ethan,
"How do you bid from inside the VIP room," I asked.
Ethan immediately pointed at a switch on the table and said,
"There's a bulb outside every room, you press the switch and it glows. So you can bid by turning it on. The increment of money is always common, every time the bulb glows it means a half-a-million-dollar increment. After the item auctioned reaches 30 million, the increment of the bid will be 1 million for each glow."
"Oh!!" I exclaimed noticing the bulbs above each VIP room from the transparent glass.

The commotion outside gradually subsided and a beautiful female walked up with a Crobat flying over her head.
The lady had an exposed bareback gown with a revealing deep cleavage. She had fair skin, purple lipstick, and mascara on her eyelids making her more seductive.
'Cliche tricks from the auctioneer,' I thought sighing.
"If I knew that the lady was this hot, I would have come for the auction every year," said Ethan surprising even me.
"Really? You are falling for such an obvious trick?" I asked giving him a weird look.
"Cough" "Cough" he coughed with embarrassment and adjusted his posture.
I shaked my head and turned my attention back towards the lady,
"Seems like that's everyone, so let's start the most anticipated event of the Kingdom," she said while Crobat amplified the sound throughout the auction hall.
'How did it do that? I mean how much control and effort is needed to achieve that' I thought turning my pupils red while gazing at the Crobat.
'Peak Green' I thought immediately.
"Welcome to all our dear Nobles and talented trainers around the kingdom. This is the 50th Auction since our Heritage Auction House has been established, we have a very special item today for the penultimate finisher. I hope you all are excited," she said seductively folding her hands in a curvy pose.
"Ohhhhhhhhhhh" "Yessssss" exclaimed the crowd in cheers.
"Then let's not wait any more, the first item up is a rare one. It's so beautiful and pure that anyone who lays eyes on it will fall in love with it," she said asking the guys at the back to bring forth the item.
They hurriedly bought a concealed box and placed it on the table in front of the auctioneer.
She held the covered black cloth and gracefully removed it.
What I saw was a peculiar stone with a yellowish shine to it, it twinkled from the central stage making sure everyone had eyes on it.
"This is a rare medium-grade shiny stone. It is very helpful in evolving incredibly cute pokemon like Togetic and Minccino. Also, never forget the forever graceful Roselia... everything about these three Pokemon reflects beauty and grace, I hope all the Nobles have their eyes on it," she said turning towards the VIP boxes.
"she sure knows how to hype it up," I said making Ethan nod with a smile.
[Hmm, what's so great about a stone that shines similar to those bulbs in our room] said Gastly turning a blind eye while sneaking on Elekid.
I ignored her and gazed towards the Auction lady,
"The starting price is half a million, surely that's a cheap price for a great future," said the lady while the Crobat amplified the sound.
Suddenly a light glowed far adjacent to our room,
"Oh!! we have our first bidder of the day. Viscount George's family seems to have a keen eye," she said gazing towards the room.
'She even memorized the names of People in all the rooms, damn!!' I thought.
Gradually the bidding war started,
"1.5 million from the Baron family"
"2 million, we are back to Viscount George"
"2.5 million"

"3.5 million from Baron Stephen"

.
After a short back and forth, it came to an end,
"Final call, 4.5 million from Viscount George.... any more bidders? the beautiful stone seems to be calling for noble George" she said looking for someone to bid.
There was only silence left,
"Smash", she hit the hammer indicating the completion.
" Sold, 4.5 million for the medium-grade shiny stone. A very efficient buy from the Viscount, and with that we completed selling the first item," she said winking at the crowd.
"Yeahhhhhhh!" "Ohhhhhhhh" shouted the crowd in unison.
"Let's move on to the next item, we have a set of coupons that give a 50% discount to anyone who wants a tutored move from the royal tutors. You can use it for a total of three times, The starting bid is half a million...." she said revealing some signed papers.
I turned towards Ethan and asked,
"is it worth it?"
He shook his head immediately,
"No not for nobles but for civilian trainers it's a boon. Royal tutors only work for nobles so they don't accept teaching civilian trainers, the only exception is when you have those papers," he said as the bidding war started between the Advanced and Elite level civilian trainers.
"So should I bid?" I asked for confirmation.
"No!! your brother is a Royal Knight. You can get permission through him, so it's a waste of money," he said rejecting.
I nodded at that and turned my attention to the auction,

"Close, 5.5 million sold to the talented Initial rank Elite trainer from Accumula Town," she said gazing at the crowd.

Two hours later:
"Finally, we have a very special item for all those poison Pokemon trainers out there, the item is made from the Initial Elite level Muk. After the death of this Pokemon, a slimy purple blob is made by royal researchers to give vitality to your pokemon. Only works on poison types," she said revealing a small blackish-purple slime.
"It's called Black Sludge. It not only helps Poison-type Pokemon recover but also makes them improve their control of poison energy," she said making me excited.
"The bid starts at 1 million," she said making me choke.
'That's too high of a starting price, maybe I should wait till Snorunt is sold!!' I thought trying to calm myself.
[That item looks too delicious.... bid for it Arthur] said Gastly pressing the switch immediately.
"What!!!" "No!!!" resounded in the room as both Ethan and I exclaimed.
The lady noticed the glow of light in front of our room and turned towards Room number 4,
"Wow!! Duke Frost seems to be interested in an item for the first time," she said expectantly looking at Room number 6 which belongs to Duke Edwards.
'Shit!! this damn bitch is hyping it up!'
As if confirming my guess, there was a glow above Room number six,
"Oh!! 1.5 million bid from the Duke Edward family. Seems like a competition between the two most renowned families of the kingdom," she said trying to intensify the conflict.
Ethan looked at me with an embarrassed face and said,
"We can't back down now, it's a matter of pride, my father won't like losing to the Edward family as we are competitive rivals,"
"You mean we have to get that item no matter what?" I asked back.
"Yeah, because we were the ones who started the bid. My father won't like losing it," he said making me give an intense glare towards Gastly.
"I will deal with you later," I said in frustration and returned Gastly to the Pokeball. Then I gave a look towards Elekid,
[What!! I did not do anything. I am just a spectator] he said swaying his hands.
"I am sure you would have pulled the same shit if the item was related to Electric-type," I said making him shake his head.
[Me? No! I am not that immature,] he said folding his hands while whistling in a 'Not paying attention to you' attitude.
"2.5 Million from Duke Frost," I heard again from the auctioneer.
I turned towards Ethan only to see him give me a dumb smile while pressing the bidding switch.
"Do you HAVE TO WIN this bid? why not just give up saying it was me who wanted it," I pleaded.
"No, the rumors will only say that the Frost family couldn't even buy a Black sludge after starting the bid," he said rejecting instantly.
"Does pride feed your family's plate? I don't have that much wealth to buy it. Not to forget, I need to get a third Pokemon," I said giving him a pitiful look.
"Sighhhh" Ethan shaked his head and said,
"That's why I warned you before, raising troublemakers is not so easy. You never know what problems they cause," he said looking towards Elekid.
"Elekid Kidd, Elekidd Ele Kid?" he said in wonder as if asking,
'Why am I the one getting yelled at?'
Ethan then looked at me and said,
"Leave it, I will take care of this by giving an excuse to my Father. But you better pay me back by the end of the Academy year."
Before I thank Ethan for the generosity, we both heard the female auctioneer shout,
"3.5 million, Duke Edwards back into the race,"
'Fuck!! Stop it man' I prayed to all the gods.
"4 million, we are back to Duke Frost. It seems like both families won't back down until death, just like how they defend the kingdom....." she said cheekily praising both families.
'You bitch!! I will deal with you in the future!' I swore.
"4.5....."
" 5 million...."

"7 million..."

"These guys are crazy, you could easily get a low-green-grade Pokemon for that amount..."
"Yeah, Nobles are intense...."
There were all kinds of whispers and shocks from the crowd while I was banging the transparent glass with silent tears.
[Serves you right for stealing the Pokemon eggs while getting away with it without consequences, ] commented Elekid while enjoying the drama.
"Damn it!! triple the practice after we go back, also no food for you tonight!" I said letting my frustration out.
[What! no way!! why am I bearing the price for Gastly?] he said in shock.
"You are the big brother so you have to pay for your little sister's actions," I said making him fall on his butt in fake tears.

after a painful two minutes, the bid stopped at 11.5 million dollars. Duke Edward's family stopped bidding,
"11.5 million for this rare Black Sludge. Are there any more bids?" asked the auctioneer in joy.
'Bitch! Stop it and hit the hammer already. Close the deal' I prayed internally while cursing all the ancestors of Duke Edward.
"Smash"
"Deal Closed, Duke Frost wins this precious Black Sludge for a worthy price of 11.5 million," she said smiling towards our room.
"To think a 3 million dollar item would go for 11.5 million. This Auction hall is a scam," said Ethan while sitting back in frustration.
'I paid 4 times the amount? Fuck!! Damn Gastly,' I cursed gritting my teeth.
"Alright, that's it for the first part of the Auction. The second part will have 5 special items, every one of them is as precious as a Diamond. So look forward to it in two hours," she said signing off.
