94 Chapter 4: First Pokemon in Johto

After the battle between Charizard and Articuno, Soul continued on his journey to Blackthorn City, where he would meet his new little sister.

But before that, he and the rest took a break after hours of flying, they found a camping spot with a lake that Lapras could move around and set up the camps.

All of his Pokemon played with each other as Charizard told to his peers about his battle against Articuno, which he called 'The Burned Ice Bird.' A pretty original name.

While Soul was cooking for his Pokemon, he noticed a bush close to him was moving. His Pokemon became alerted as they were about to protect him, he stopped them and approached the suspicious bush.

Soul: 'Whatever in that bush, doesn't show any ill intentions towards us. More precisely, it seemed to be desperate for something.'

Walking through the bush, Soul saw something that he never thought he would have seen when he traveled here for the first time.

An injured Latios could be seen laying on the ground, as it was shocked when it saw Soul and tried to levitate but failed.

Soul, who saw this tried to calm it down. It only helped a little as Latios was wary of him. Sighing, Soul called out for Alakazam to lift it and follow him.

Alakazam did what Soul said and lifted Latios with ease. However, to his annoyance, Latios started to struggle to get free from his grasp, making it a bit difficult for him to focus as he floated towards Soul with it.

Soul: Put it here.

He said as he pointed at a random grass plain. Alakazam happily obeyed and calmly put Latios down, who was starting to panic because of the powerful and dominated aura each of Soul's Pokemon are emitting.

Soul: Relax, we don't have any bad intention, I'll heal you quickly so that the foods don't burn when I come back.

He said calmly and didn't wait for a response as he quickly healed all of Latios' wounds. Finishing, Soul quickly returned to the kitchen where he continued cooking.

Latios was less and less wary of Soul as it didn't sense that he has any bad intentions towards it.

When Soul finished cooking, he called out for his Pokemon to come and get their foods. All of his Pokemon stopped on what they were doing as they all went to grab their bowls, Soul took two bowls as he gave one to Lapras and another to Latios, who still stayed with them.

Soul: Eat up and replenish your energy. After that, do you mind telling me why you were covered in wounds?

Latios hesitated for a moment before it nodded. It then went to smell the soup that was made out of several berries as its main ingredients. Not smelling anything wrong with it, Latios licked on the surface of the soup. It froze for a moment before starting to eating the whole soup as there was nothing left.

Soul hasn't even started eating yet and this fellow already finished its food? It must have been pretty hungry huh.

Looking around, his Pokemon wasn't even finished with their foods yet, instead, they only drank a small amount of it and try to get a full taste of the soup. They all looked like they were eating some kind of luxurious meal that they cherish every single bite!

This made Soul chuckle a bit before his vision went to Latios who looked curious at why he did that.

Soul: Sorry about that, I just had a funny thought. Anyways, do you mind telling me about what happened and why were you wounded when I saw you?

Latios hesitated for a moment before it told Soul, what had happened to which he listened carefully.

It seems like Latios' parent's died before Latios was born, and he was regarded as the weakest of his tribe among his generation, so his life was in constant problems.

When they were hunting for food, Latios was sent to hunt with three others. Unluckily, it was the same three Latios who had tormented him ever since they had met.

While they were hunting, Latios was attacked by the three other Latios and was left with heavy wounds.

He was left there for who's know how long, he thought that he would get eaten by the others Pokemon before Soul found him.

Finishing on telling Soul on what has been on his mind, Latios became sad as Soul nodded and patted his head.

Soul: Don't worry, you're safe here with us.

After they all finished eating, Soul took all of the bowls and sent them to Arc for washing. He then introduced Latios to his team to which they all greeted him happily.

Latios, who was overwhelmed by all of the greetings didn't know what to do. He hasn't experienced anything like this before!

Soul stood to the side and watched how his Pokemon interact with their new guest. Latios seemed to be awkward as he tried to answer all of the questions as best as he could.

When they all got to know each other better, all of them heard a noise in the sky as they saw three Latios flying towards them.

The Latios on Soul's camp seemed scared by seeing them as his expression became pale.

Soul: 'So they're the ones who have injured Latios huh? How weak.'

He looked at his team, who wasn't bothered by them as they were carefree as ever. Those tiny bugs aren't even worth their time.

The three Latios, who were asked by their chief to bring Latios corpse back was irritated, the only reason they decided to accept their chief request was because of the foods they would get.

Hopefully, the corpse hasn't got eaten nor disappeared yet.

Soul: Guys, protect the guest, we have some intruders.

All of them nodded as Mew sat on Soul's shoulder and giggled, this won't end well for the intruders, and all of them except Latios knows it.

Soul had asked his Pokemon to lower their aura down so that they don't scare their guest, so the three Latios thought that all of Soul Pokemon wasn't that strong, but could still give them a problem.

Soul: Latios watch closely. Everyone its time to send the intruders back home!

Hearing this, they all grinned as Alakazam used Psychic to hold all of them down when they arrived.

Surprised by the sudden attack, they all got pulled by the familiar power. They tried to resist, but no matter what they do, it wouldn't work.

Soul: Who's going to send them home?

All of his team raised their hands, seeing this, Soul laughed as he picked randomly with a blindfold.

In the end, it was Anubis, Noivern, and Charizard who got to do it. His other Pokemon was disappointed but shrugged it off as they watched the show along with Latios, who was by now overwhelmed by their power.

Anubis went first as he formed a baseball bat that he saw on the TV. A dark-blue baseball bat was formed as Anubis used a part of his strength to sent one of them out flying.

Soul: Nice, I'll give that one 8 points. Could have been flashier.

Next was Noivern, who started to warm up before sending a Boomburst on the one of the two remaining scared Latios. The attack hit the second Latios as it was sent flying, but not as far as Anubis.

Soul: I'll also give that one 8 points. It's flashy, but not that much power.

Charizard just used a powerful fire-type move to blast away the last Latios, who was pale as white.

Soul: That was hot, I'll give it 9 points. A great balance between flashiness and power, but could still use some work.

Charizard seemed proud while the other two seemed disappointed. They should have used more flashy and add more power to it like Charizard.

Soul: Anyways… Latios.

Hearing his name, Latios looked over at Soul, who looked majestic with sunlight hitting his back along with the others.

Soul: You have three choices, one, you can go back to your tribe. Two, you can go live on your own in the wild, or three, you can come with us and become stronger.

Hearing this, Latios thought for a moment before he decided that he would join Soul's team, after all, who wouldn't want to become super strong like the one he saw right before him?

Soul: Great, then I'll guess I have to welcome you into my team.

He said as he threw an Ultra Ball at Latios' forehead, the ball didn't roll around as it made a *Ding* sound.

Picking up the Ultra Ball, Soul called out Latios as they all got to know each other better to know and the day went by without a problem.
