12 Secret Base?
Riolu stands in tall grass that reaches up to his chest, around him stands three Rattata. Scarlet red energy flows through his body and his eyes constantly shift between the three opponents.
"Rata tat tat!" A Rattata screams after glancing towards the side and seeing two of its kin thrown into each other by two different Ralts using Confusion.
All three rush towards Riolu at the same time with a white trail streaming behind them.
"Riolu use Detect!"
Riolu's eyes turn light blue and the Rattata's moves become clear in his eyes. Turning to the side, a Rattata jumps right past him. Kicking up his leg, he kicks the Rattata right in the stomach and sends it flying into the air.
Bringing down his left elbow he hits the next Rattata that arrives right in the head and smashes it to the ground. His leg still in the air, flows to his side as he brings his heel straight down and sweeps the last Rattata that tries to sneak attack him.
"Bullet Punch!" Seeing Riolu deal with all three Rattata he gives the last order.
A steel sheen surrounds his fist and he delivers a swift punch to the two Rattata on the ground. As the last Rattata falls down, he punches it in the gut and blasts it into the distance.
Seeing Riolu finish his fight, Roy walks up with Ralts and Ditto who quickly settled their fights with Confusion. "Much better this time guys, you're starting to get the hang of battles."
[This is too easy!] Ditto jumps up and down while sending messages to everyone.
Even though Ralts tries to hide her smile, everyone can still see it.
Glancing backward, he can't even see the town walls anymore. Sparse trees and tall grass surround them on all sides but Umbra forest still can't be seen on the horizon. Walking a bit away from the Rattata group he checks the time and sees it's already well past noon.
"Guys, let's eat but remember to keep your vigilance." Sitting down he takes out three bowls and fills them with rainbow energy cubes. After placing down glasses of water, he takes out some bread for himself.
While eating, all four constantly glance around for safety. "We've traveled pretty far guys. Most of these areas aren't traveled very often, only air patrols so we're sort of like explorers."
"Rio rio rio!" Riolu hits his paws together and shows a smile.
[Did you open the secret base?]
Hearing Ralts voice in his head he looks at her thinking she got the words wrong and is asking him to open the rift. When he looks at Ralts, she is pointing behind him.
Twisting his head, he sees two tall trees growing so close together they almost appear as one tree. Between the two trunks lies an open rift with a faint purple glow.
"A Secret Realm?" Furrowing his brows, he can't help but frown. This rift is easily missable from the air and one can only see it if you're traveling north from this area.
"How long has this been here?" Thinking for a moment he bights his teeth and makes a decision.
Collecting their bowls after they finish eating, he leads his pokemon towards the rift. Getting closer, he can feel his heart beating faster and faster. Looking around he doesn't see any Pokemon on or near the trees which makes him worry.
"Let's go in together." Looking down he sees all three of his Pokemon nod and they step into the rift together.
Only the subtle glow of the rift gives light to the otherwise dark environment. While the surroundings are dark, for Roy, that is the last thing on his mind.
He now knows why no Pokemon were near the trees. Above his head, he can see the data for nearly thirty Zubats. Most have red and yellow qualifications, some have green, but a single Zubat has Light Blue qualifications.

Before the Zubats do anything, he decides to act. "Ralts, Ditto release your strongest Confusion to cover the ceiling! Riolu use Detect and hit anything that comes close with Bullet Punch!"
Ralts and Ditto's eyes glow in the dark cave as their mental powers radiate towards the ceiling. Because it's so spread out, it doesn't do much damage to the Zubats, but it wakes them up.
"Zuuu!" The Zubats scream and begin dropping from the ceiling.
Roy can hear the Zubats flapping their wings and preparing to attack. "Ralts use Misty Terrain!"
A pink mist spreads from Ralts's feet and creeps along the ground until it barely covers the four of them. At the same time, the Zubats release Supersonic towards Roy and the Pokemon to try and confuse them.
"Ditto continue using Confusion! Everyone back up and leave the rift."
"Raaal!" Ditto yells and releases another wave of psychic energy.
The four of them back up and leave the Secret Realm. When they leave, Zubats fly from the rift to chase after them. "Riolu use Bullet Punch! Stop them all!"
"Riolu!!" Running forward Riolu jumps into the air and puts himself between the Zubats and Roy.
Stepping outside, Riolu can finally see the Zubats. Punching forward, his fist makes contact with the Zubats as they fly out. "Rio rio rio rio rio rio rio rio rio rio!"
A steel torrent rains down upon the Zubats and sends them flying to the ground or back into the rift. Any that slip by Riolu are thrown to the ground by Ralts and Ditto.
It takes a few seconds to knock out all the Zubats, but because they have a weak defense, low health, and are weak to psychic attacks, they are able to take them out steadily.
"If we're surrounded that would've been terrible." Thinking about walking headfirst into the Secret Realm he shakes his head.
Roy thinks for a moment as he looks at the Zubat with light blue qualifications. Holding out his hand, a friend ball appears.
Throwing the ball, it hits the Zubat and sucks it in. The ball shakes twice before finally clicking.
"I don't plan to train it as a main elf, but I can't just pass this up." Walking up he picks up the ball and looks at his tired pokemon.
"Guys, let's see where the cave goes then we will take a rest." Clicking the ball to his waist, he turns to look at his Pokemon.
"Rio" Riolu stands up straight and shows he can still go on.
Taking out some energy cubes, he gives them to all three.
When they finish eating and look a little better, he takes out a flashlight and enters the rift again. Shining the light, he can tell that this cave was dug by something and not naturally formed.
Riolu leads the way as they walk deeper into the cave. After a few twists and turns, they see light pouring into the darkness. Turning off the flashlight and putting it away, they exit the cave.
The sight before his eyes leaves him stunned. The cave exits on the side of a rocky mountain filled with rock and ground pokemon like Geodude, Roggenrola, Rolycoly, Sandshrew, Diglett, and even some of their evolved forms can be seen.
Looking down the mountain, he can see a forest surrounding the entire mountain and the white barriers at the edge of the realm.
"Based on what I can see, this Secret Realm is at least five times larger than mine." Taking a deep breath, he turns towards Ditto, Ralts, and Riolu. "Let's call it quits for today."
Opening a rift, he leads them inside and quickly closes it.
Collapsing to the ground he feels his nerves unwind.
[Are you ok?] Ralts walks next to Roy and looks at him curiously.
"I'm ok." Reaching out he pats Ralts head and smiles.
Seeing this, Ditto runs over and looks at Roy. [What about me?]
"Hahaha, you did well today, if it wasn't for you we would be in trouble." Using his other hand he rubs Ditto's head.
Riolu crosses his arms in front of his chest and looks off to the side.
Withdrawing his hands, he grabs Zubat Pokeball and releases her.
Zubat flies in the air and releases echolocation to look around.
"Zubat, sorry about before but welcome to the team." Taking out some rainbow energy blocks, he holds them in his palm.
"Za za." Smelling the energy cubes, Zubat flies over and begins eating the cubes.
Roy smiles as he sees this, knowing that the friend ball works with an almost brainwashing effect.
Pokemon hatched from eggs are close to those it first sees and has a friendship value of 120 using game terms. Pokemon caught with a friend ball starts with 200.
Roy turns towards Riolu and notices that he learned Metal Claw from his final onslaught of attacks. Nodding his head, he rises to his feet.
"I think we've learned our weakness from our battles today. Our attacks are too weak and our release time is too slow. Riolu, I want you to use Bulk Up and Agility at the same time. Try and push your body to the limit."
"Rio!" Riolu shows a determined look and clenches his paws.
"Ditto, until we get your first perfect transformation, the only training that works for you is to practice stamina. I want you to transform into Riolu and copy his training, then the two of you will spar."
[I won't let you down.] Ditto's body glows pink and changes into Riolu.
The two run off together and begin sparring.
"Ralts, I want you to work with Zubat to see how it releases sonic waves. Instead of using your mouth, you need to use your psychic powers. Zubat, please try and help Ralts."
"Za za." Zubat flutters its wings and flies underneath the berry trees to block the light.
Ralts walks over and the two begin practicing together.
Looking over he sees Riolu and Ditto with muscles bulging and moving at high speeds. Ditto uses its imposter ability and copies Riolu perfectly. Their fist and feet collide in rapid succession as they move across the grass.
Opening the system, he looks at what moves he can teach Zubat.
Almost without hesitation, he decides to stick to his theory of status moves and teaches Zubat Tailwind.
A clear stream wraps around Zubat's body but soon disappears. Suddenly, flapping her wings appear easier than before, like the air no longer impedes her. In her mind, the information on how to use Tailwind appears.
Roy sits down and watches his pokemon train. "This Secret Realm doesn't seem very big, but what can I do with it? Should I try and catch other pokemon to fill out my team? Maybe I should report it to the Alliance and head down to the forest?" Tapping his cheek he continues thinking of a plan.
Suddenly, Roy's eyes light up. Turning towards Zubat, Roy realizes he has a local.
