1 Chapter 1: Starter Trio

In the Pokemon League, a Dragonite fires a Flamethrower against an Alolan Sandslash's Steel Beam, creating a smoke. When the dust is cleared, Dragonite is still flying while Sandslash is weakened and injured by the use of Steel Beam.

"Both Pokemon are still standing. Who will emerge victorious now that Sandslash is weakened by the use of Steel Beam?" The announcer asked with excitement.

"Sandslash, use Icicle Crash!" Sandslash's trainer, a Boarder, commands.

"Dragonite, counter that with Air Cutter!" Dragonite's trainer, a man wearing a cape, responds by commanding.

Dragonite flaps it's wings to overpower the icicles with blue blades, hitting Sandslash badly.

"A critical hit! Sandslash is not looking good." The announcer comments.

"Sandslash, are you ok?" The Boarder asks with concern, which his Pokemon replied by looking at Dragonite fiercely, "Good. Use Rock Slide!"

"Dragonite, spin and use Twister!" The man with a cape commands, as his Pokemon flaps it's wings while spinning to create a tornado shield to send back the stones thrown to him at Sandslash, giving it more damage.

"A clever strategy by our Champion Lance. The stones are reflected!" The announcer shouted.

"Get ready for this, challenger. Dragonite and I will show you why we're the best. Dragon Rush!" Lance confidently commands Dragonite, who powers up and covers itself in blue aura and charges at Sandslash.

"Look at Dragonite go, folks. Here comes it's Dragon Rush!" The announcer shouted, which causes the crowd to go wild.

"Sandslash. Metal Burst!" The Boarder, knowing that he is going to lose, commands Sandslash in a fearful voice.

As Dragonite charges with fury, Sandslash tries to defeat it with a white ball of energy that absorbs Dragon Rush, creating an explosion that covers the entire battlefield.

When the dust is cleared, Dragonite is still standing with minor injuries while Sandslash is knocked out, unable to withstand the injuries it took.

"Sandslash is unable to battle. Dragonite wins and that means the match goes to Lance the Champion." The referee declares, much to the crowd's joy.

Dragonite smiles and roars victoriously, as Lance approaches and pets him.

"Congratulations, Dragonite. You managed to defend our title as Champions." Lance praises his Pokemon, who licks him affectionately.

"Sandslash, return." The Boarder recalls his Pokemon and looks at the scoreboard with disappointment. "I guess I could only make it this far." Before attempting to leave but Lance stops him.

"Leaving already?" Lance asks. "Just because you lost?"

"That's it. I lost, I leave." The Boarder replies sadly.

"No, not yet. You and Sandslash fought well. I'm impressed you gave Dragonite a tough battle. Some trainers I fought in the past were only taken down after two moves. Which means you're pretty tough." Lance cheered him up and shakes hands with him, "I'm looking forward for our next battle."

The match is watched in television by a boy and his Pikachu from Pallet Town.

"There Lance goes. His great smile. I wish I could be like him. Right, Pikachu?" The boy said, which his Pokemon agrees. "Once I start my journey, I'll become very strong that I could even give Lance and Dragonite a tough fight. And in the end, I'll become Champion."

"Red, Professor Oak is giving away the three Starter Pokemon tomorrow at 7. And it's 9 o'clock. So you and Pikachu should sleep right now." The boy's mom said, which causes Red to change into his pajamas and go to sleep while Pikachu jumps at the second bed, where it sleeps as well, after grabbing it's Dragonite plushie.

The next morning, Red puts on his Let's Go outfit and trademark hat and looks at himself in the mirror, with his Pikachu jumping on his shoulder. Grabbing his bag and wearing his shoes, Red goes downstairs and ate his breakfast with his mother and her Mr. Mime, who serves him

"Thanks, Mr. Mime." Red said, as he starts eating while his Pikachu eats Pokemon food served by Mr. Mime as well.

"So, Red, have you been thinking who are you gonna pick?" His mom asked.

"Charmander. It has a burning passion for battle and a determination to win. If it evolves into a Charizard, it will become very strong because I raised and trained it myself. Once he and I have a strong bond, we'll have access to Mega Evolution." Red replies in enthusiasm and finishes eating, "I should get going. After all, it's 7:30. So I'll see you later, mom." And gives her a hug.

Running towards Professor Oak's Lab, Red and Pikachu went inside and see two Trainers.

"Hey Willow, Hey Blue." Red greets them.

"Glad you show up, Red." Blue, wearing his Let's Go outfit, sarcastically remarks, "I would've took your Pokemon, right, Eevee?", Which his Pokemon agrees.

"Leave him alone, Blue." Willow, wearing her Let's Go outfit, aggressively defends Red, who is happy.

"What is going on here?" Oak asks.

"Professor." Red and Willow said.

"Gramps." Blue said.

"Sorry to keep you waiting. My granddaughter Daisy has to groom and feed my old Pokemon." Oak apologizes, "Now, why don't we get started? Daisy."

"Coming grandpa." Daisy said and comes out of the room with a cart of Fire Red and Leaf Green Pokedexes and Poke Balls. "Red, Blue, Willow. Meet your partners!"

Daisy throws three Poke Balls to the air to release the Starter Pokemon.

"I want all of you to meet the Grass Pokemon Bulbasaur, the Fire Pokemon Charmander and the Water Pokemon Squirtle." Daisy introduced, "Let's have Red pick first."

"No fair, sis." Blue complains.

Angered by her brother's behavior, Daisy scolds, "Be patient or I will take Eevee."

Red, having already decided, declared, "I choose Charmander, Daisy.", Much to the Fire Pokemon's delight.

"Good choice. This little guy here happens to be energetic and strong. I raised him well. Take good care of him, Red." Daisy said before giving him his own Pokedex, "Now why don't you scan Charmander so you could learn about him?"

Red scans Charmander, with the Pokedex giving him information: "Charmander. The Lizard Pokemon. The flame on the tip of it's tail indicates it's health and mood, such as blazing when it's angry or enraged."

Daisy then turns to Blue, "OK, it's your turn, bro."

Blue smiles arrogantly and looks at Squirtle, "I'm choosing this guy."

Daisy gives Blue a Pokedex and a set of Poke Balls and turns to Willow, "I assume that Bulbasaur is your choice."

Willow responds by kneeling down and saying, "Bulbasaur. It's so nice to meet you."

Daisy, then, gives Willow her own Pokedex and Poke Balls.

Oak then approaches Red and asks, "Before you and Charmander and Pikachu leave Pallet Town, why don't we have a talk with Lance?"

Jealous that his grandfather is only interested on Red, Blue challenges his rival, "Hey, Red, before you talk to Lance, why don't we have a battle?"
