3 A rare Pokemon

The cries of spearows, Ash opened his eyes as he realized he passed out last night. He woke up feeling groggy and refreshed. He tried to stretch his hands but realise, Misty was occupying the other.

Well, She's clinging to him like an octopus. She sleeping so soundly. Ash feels bad waking her up so he gave her a 10 minutes.

Ash enjoys watching Misty sleeping, She murmured in her sleep.

"Pip....lup....I choose you hehe~"

Ash smile sweetly at the sight of her sleeptalking. After a 10 minutes. Ash pat Misty's cheeks a few times and quietly said.

"Hey Misty, wake up. It's time to prepare our breakfast."

"Mmhmm~ 5 minutes more mom." She replied hazily. Feeling a little bit sleepy.

Ash scratch his cheek feeling amused. 'I'm not your mom' He thought.

"Come on, Misty... I see a piplup! If you don't wake up it will disappear!" Ash jokingly said to her.

Ash assume she's awake but just being lazy. Misty who heard Ash open her eyes wide and sat up immediately trying to search for piplup.

"Where Where!?" Misty loudly exclaimed.

Misty turn her head left and right trying to find the certain cute penguin pokemon around. Realizing she was tricked by Ash, Misty pouted madly at Ash. Glaring at him.

"Why did you do that Ash."

"Well, you wouldn't wake up." Ash scratch his cheeks innocently.

"Hmph! So that's how you play Ash." Misty said with a smug.

"Okay Okay, I'm sorry. I don't want to trick you. It's time for us to go." Ash bowed his head and apologize for tricking Misty.

"Okay, I accept your apology. Just don't trick me again. I don't like it when someone lie to me." Misty sadly said.

Seeing her expression, Ash became little bit guilty. He shouldn't have bamboozled her because he wants to wake her up. He took note to not lie and trick Misty. He didn't want to ruin their friendship.

"I'm sorry Misty."

"Don't worry. It's okay. Just don't do it again."

Ash nodded.

"By the way Ash, your shoulder feels really comfortable. I'm also sorry for being lazy. It's my fault for not waking up."

Ash blushes when Misty said that. She also blushes when she realized she was clinging to Ash all night. Misty cursed her blunder. She didn't even asked Ash's permission.

"... If you want to you can use my shoulder whenever we sleep. I don't mind."

Misty smiled and happily said. "Really!?, I won't decline your offer. I don't know why but when I was sleeping on your shoulder, I feel like I was at home."

Ash wryly smiled. He didn't expect Misty to eagerly compliment his shoulders and how comfortable she was.

"Come on, We shouldn't dally any longer. We still have long journey ahead of us." Misty called out Ash as she stand up and walk out from the tent.

"Fuwaaaaah. Fresh breeze of the forest really make me feel refreshed."

Ash sat up and look at Misty stretching her body outside. She was wearing her pajama. Ash watch her with complicated gaze. Misty is too innocent and pure despite her tomboyish figure. She didn't even know the difference between gender.

Ash wanted to ask her parents why they didn't taught Misty. Fortunately, Ash is a gentleman, even though he thinks perverted events with Misty in his mind. He still have boundary between Moral and Imagination.

If it were somebody else. With how clingy Misty is, they are bound find it difficult to hold on. Ash swear to protect Misty from bad things, He wanted her to grow up peacefully without knowing the other side, which children shouldn't know.

Misty is still a little girl. She's not even a teenager yet. She didn't need to know about it. That's why Ash swear to keep it a secret from her.

Following Misty out and preparing their food for breakfast. Ash and Misty called out their pokemons and feed them. While the two prepared for the meal.

The work of two people was fast and the two end up gorging their food yet again. While chatting about pokemons techniques with Misty.

Misty was curious about the combo abilities Ash used when fighting against wild pokemon. She wanted to improve her skills too. Ash didn't mind teaching her.

They did a demo between her Staryu and Ash's spearow. Staryu used a combo skill Rapid spin and Minimize when Spearow attacked using Fury attack. With Minimize evasion and using rapid spin not as attack but to run away from the opponent is really good combination.

Unlike the game, it's not turn based. Where you exchange skills between turn. In reality, You can command your Pokemon on what to do. Dodge and used combo abilities without cooldown time. You don't need to wait for your opponent to attack you first before it's your turn.

Even using Attack skill like Quick attack and Rapid spin to dodge is possible which is impossible in game.

Ash helped Misty using his knowledge about Pokemon in past life. Which was a huge improvement in Misty's side.

When Spearow used Aerial ace, Misty used both Tackle and Harden although the energy consumption is large and put a toll on Staryu. Spearow attack was useless and that put to an end with Staryu using Hydropump, knocking out Spearow.

Ash was astounded by Misty's improvement. She learn fast, Ash thought. Ash feel like raising a hard opponent for himself. He knew who Misty was. She's the Gym leader at Cerulean city.

But Ash didn't care about that. He's happy Misty's improvement. If she became strong for him to win, then he should also improvise himself so he could win.

He recalled Spearow to his pokeball.

"That's great Misty."

"It's thanks to you Ash.... Though, you clearly held back for me, right?"

"Well, I guess. Does that disappoint you?"

"No not really. I know you want to help me. I'm grateful for that." Shaking her head, Misty said."But next time we battle, don't hesitate to hold back okay. I want to see how much I improve."

Ash nodded and said. "Okay, I will."

After that few session. Ash and Misty continue their way to Viridian City. Ash calculated they would arrive in six days.

Just like yesterday, They do their usual routine. Training, Lunch, Go, Training, Rest and then looking forward to tomorrow.

As expected, Misty used Ash's shoulder to sleep. Oblivious to the young Ketchum's suffering. But as days passed by, Ash has gotten pretty used to it.

Pikachu on the other hand. He was improving greatly. His stamina reserves leveled up. He acquired new skills, Light screen and Protect. Two defensive skills that really is useful to the little guy. Pikachu doesn't have strong defense, because he is an agility base pokemon. Getting hit by a powerful attack would cause a lot of damage to Pikachu, if not knocked out.

Pikachu would always complain to Ash when he was tired for making him train hard. Although, Pikachu complained to him, Pikachu didn't want to give up. Pikachu wanted to be strong just like what Ash promised him.

Also, Pikachu didn't want the new pokemons to catch up with him. He wanted to be an Alpha in Ash's team. Spearow who was knocked out didn't suffer serious injury thanks to Staryu holding back, Spearow got out from the poke ball and asked ash to train him. He didn't want to lose again.

Ash happily train his pokemon. As for Poliwag, it did train but it was too lazy. Misty made fun of Ash because her Poliwhirl was a distraction to his Poliwag. Misty's Poliwhirl is a girl so for Ash's Poliwag was attached to Misty's Poliwhirl.

Misty and Ash did another battle between his Poliwag and Poliwhirl which resulted on his Poliwag's defeat. He lectured his poliwag that he wouldn't get the girl he likes if he is not strong to protect Poliwhirl.

Thanks to that battle. Poliwag realized he should become strong enough if he wanted to be with Misty's Poliwhirl. Making Misty and Ash laugh.

As the journey to Viridian City closing in. Ash and Misty decided to rest for a bit at the nearby river. Being close to a river is essential when resting.

"We're pretty close to the city huh." Ash said.

"Yeah, Tomorrow afternoon we should have already in the city." Misty nodded.

As the the two continue chatting they look up and was astounded by a majestic looking bird pokemon flying through the sky. A bright red feathers and with golden crown.

Ash open his eyes widely. The very first Legendary Pokemon he encounter is the majestic Ho-oh.

"What is that bird. It looks amazing." Misty asked wondered. She didn't know what kind of pokemon was that. It was her first time seeing that Pokemon.

But for Ash, who was knowledgeable about pokemon. He knew what pokemon was that.

"Misty, our luck is very good."

"Eh, Why?" Misty asked confusedly.

"After all, That's the Legendary Pokemon Ho-oh." Ash said with a wide smile as he watch Misty's gobsmack expression.

"Y-Y-You mean the Pokemon in the legends! I thought they are only myths!"

"Misty, Legendary Pokemons exist. They are out there roaming around the world. Hiding from plain sight. It is said that when you see a Ho-oh, you will have great luck."

Misty look at Ash, dumbfounded. Her view of the world slowly expanded. If not for Ash, she would be the same ignorant little girl. However, that change when she join Ash's journey. He opened her world and her dream became bigger when she found out their are many water type pokemon out there.

As the silhouette of Ho-og faded. Another Pokemon followed suit flying in the sky was a very rare pokemon. Not to mention, Pidgey is already rare pokemon, what would you call a shiny pidgey? Ultra rare! Though can't exceed the rare between it and legendary pokemon but still.

Ash hurriedly commanded pikachu.

"Buddy, use thunderbolt at that pokemon." Ash pointed to the Shiny Pidgey.

"Pikapi?" Pikachu questioned him but didn't say anything and jump up from Ash and used his thunderbolt towards the unsuspecting Shiny Pidgey.

Ash would always ask the wild Pokemon for battle before battling. If the wild pokemon doesn't want to fight, Ash would let it go.

This is the first time Pikachu saw Ash with hurried expression.

This Shiny Pidgey saw Ho-oh and wanted to follow it but didn't expect someone would suddenly attack him out of nowhere.

Ash knew how cowardly Shiny pokemons where. Because of how rare they are. They would always avoid people. Ash could only strike the shiny pokemon first before it escapes.

Unlike normal Pokemon, Shiny Pokemon are stronger than normal. The game stated that there is not difference between shiny and normal, the two would have the same base stats. But, with Ash's knowledge of this world. He found out that claim is false, well in real pokemon world that is. According to Professor Oak, A pokemon specialist. Shiny pokemons are twice stronger than normal, if not twice, thrice.

Ash didn't want to let that opportunity slip from his hand. He will apologize to the Shiny pokemon later on.

Pidgey was struck by thunderbolt and lost altitude but before it hit the ground it flap it's wings and look at Pikachu angrily. Pidgey use wing attack on Pikachu.

"Pikachu use agility to dodge." Pikachu manage to dodge the Shiny Pidgey's attack by slim. "The use Slam."

Shiny pidgey received the slam head on as it cried out. It flaps it's wing as gust was used.

"Pikachu use light screen after that gust. Quickly use agility and quick attack."

Pikachu didn't hesitate on executing Ash's command. A wall of light appear around Pikachu. However, Pikachu still didn't master light screen so after a few gust the light screen was destroyed. Pikachu winced a little, but manage to hold on. He then used Agility gaining more speed and attacked the Shiny Pidgey with Quick attack.

The Shiny pidgey yet received another powerful attack from pikachu. It was losing. However, clear determination was burning from it's eyes. It didn't want to lose.

Ash admire the Shiny Pokemon's resilience.

But he also didn't want to lose. He wanted to capture this Shiny pidgey.

As the two pokemon hover mid air. Ash initiated another command. "Pikachu use another Thunderbolt."

"Pikachuuuu!"

Lightning sorounded pikachu's body coming from his red cheeks. He let out a thunderbolt to the Shiny pidgey.

After that, The two fell down. Ash hurried came to Pikachu and pick him up. The yellow mouse was tired from the fight. Shiny pidgey's attack was strong.

"Good job buddy. You're doing amazing." Ash proudly said to his starter pokemon.

"PikaPikapi." Pikachu quietly said.

"Rest well buddy."

He took out Pikachu's pokeball. Normally, Pikachu doesn't want to be confined inside the pokeball but he would use it when resting after the fight. On the night, He would sleep with Misty and Ash, huddling the other side of ash.

Ash then took out another empty pokeball and toss it to the shiny pidgey. He waited for a bit as the pokeball starter to shake it left and right. Ash was anxious.

He notice misty coming to his side. Clearly, nervous as him.

As the time slowly ticks. The dinged coming form the pokeball making the two jump joyfully.

"YES!" Ash loudly exclaimed.

"Good for you Ash." Misty smiled sweetly.

"Thank you Misty."
