1 The legend begins

Set in the golden age of pokemon where countless mysteries lie in wait, just waiting to be discovered. Where trainers train their pokemon and explore the depths of this magical world, fighting to decide who is the strongest of them all.

It was as though the heavens themselves were crying as rain poured out of the skies. A beam of light pierced through the thickening clouds enhancing the land on which lay beneath it, giving one the impression that something mystical was about to happen. People all around the world looked around in awe and wonder, though nothing seemed to have happened... Soon this day would be forgotten by the people, all but some.

Delia POV

"Congratulations Delia! He's a healthy baby boy!" the professor cried.

As my brow creased into a frown I asked "Why isn't he crying? Is... is something wrong with him!?" I felt the muscles in my body immediately tighten.

"I'm sure everything is fine... let me check just to be sure." Despite the professor's soothing and reassuring tone, I could tell from the crease in his forehead that he was slightly worried.

*SMACK*

"WAAaahhaAahh!"

Sighing in relief, I looked over with glistening tears trickling down my face at my newborn son, unfortunately, my husband is away adventuring and as a consequence wasn't able to see the birth. As I turned my head my eyes came upon Professor Oak who was smiling at me. I felt something warm spread out from my stomach and into my limps. Professor Oak has always taken care of me, treated me as though I was his very own daughter.

As the crying began to crease I heard Oak mutter "what beautiful eyes..."

"Hurry, let me see him!" I cried, not bothering to hide my worry.

As I looked down I sucked in a breath. Much like ambers, his eyes sparkled and thrived when the light came upon them. They were a shade brighter than that of the precious gemstone but still just as beautiful.

My shock was quickly converted into joy as I held my newborn son. With his pitch-black hair, heart-shaped face, milky brown skin and those eyes shining like pools of liquid gold he was, quite something to gaze upon.

As I craned my neck down towards my son, I whispered "Welcome to the world," I felt the corners of my mouth lift just before I began cooing to him. After a few minutes, I began to gently rock him back and forth. This was when Oak asked,

"So what are you going to name him?"

"August. After all, this is the month he was born and I shall look forward to teasing him about it in the future."

"Well then, welcome to the world August Ketchum!" The processor said.

MC POV

I have always been told that "You are destined for greatness" not only by those who know me but by strangers too.

I can speak, take in and process any information that surrounds me. I suppose this is due to spending the majority of my time at Professor Oak's, being exposed to his Pokemon, his books and all. Being around these magical beings has piqued my curiosity to study them fervently, them and this world.

During my time at Professor Oak's lab, studying, I have grown close to his granddaughter Daisy. She too is six years old. With her fair skin, cropped, golden hair and emerald coloured eyes she is quite cute. She wears an outfit that consists of a white short-sleeved blouse and a lovely long dress that matches her eyes, reaching almost to her shins over the top.

As Professor Oak will not let us interact with the Pokemon yet when we are not studying we spend most of our time playing games and testing our knowledge with each other.

I admire her dream, to become the best coordinator in the world. She is always watching performances live, practising dancing whenever she can. I find it adorable when she falls over and looks up at me with her face flushed red promising me she will be the best. This is something I admire about her greatly, she has a goal.

What about me? I have no goal. "You are destined for greatness" but what does this mean?

Currently, I am waiting with Daisy in her living room as my mother is giving birth! I am ecstatic to be getting a new sibling, I cannot wait to see him. I have always had my worries about mum, with my no-good father never being around. She will be pleased to have another child in which she can dote on.

I wonder how mum is having another child? I must ask her to find out! She told me I can only have another sibling with my father here. Speaking about my father I didn't even see him come home! How can I get a sibling then? I must ask her to explain in more detail!
