1 Suprises In The Womb

Being stuck in a womb was increadibly boring. Oh sure it was comfortable, but there was simply nothing to do. He was just an ordinary bloke who lived a comparitivley ordinary life, but even he was pretty sure you shouldn't have a complete set of memories when you haven't even been born yet. Now you may be asking why he was stuck in womb. Well, he had no idea.

Oh sure, he could make some conjectures. He most likely died some way or another, not that he could remember, and through a ROB or just some random rift in the universe got put into this devolping baby. Which to be fair he wasn't too upset about.

Because if there was one thing he wanted it was the possibility to be the strongest. He always wanted the oppritunities that those of his favorite shows and books had, and he felt he could do it so much better than the vast majorty of protaginists. They always made stupid mistakes, or decisions that rationally made no sense. Always giving up valuable training time to have friends and flirt with girls. Think about how much stronger they would be if they has spent that time truly mastering their powers.

Back in his old life he always wanted a chance to gain strength on his own. And he met on his own, no op goldenfinger or cheat, he wanted to work for it. Because if he didn't, what was the point.

In his last life he never really tried. Oh sure he could have gone to learn martial arts, but he knew that in the end it would only take a bullet to kill him. But here he was in, what was most likely a brand new world.

How did he know this? Well, their was couple of reasons. First of all was the fact that he was able to think at all. After all, at this point in his devolpment he's pretty sure he doesn't even have a brain yet. The other reason was that every once in a while he felt a pulse of what felt like pure life run through him. He didn't know what its was but he was pretty sure it wasn't just an ultrasound.

So what did he do in the nine months he had to be born. He meditated. What else was he supposed to do? It wasn't exactly like he could exersice. He wasn't really sure what he was looking for while he was doing it, but he was hopfefull it would give him some ideas and a head start. After all if he could feel a presence in the air, or his merdians running through his body than it was most likely a cultivation world of some kind. While, if he felt a core of some sort inside him than it was possibly a magic world.

Of course, those aren't the only two types of worlds but power systems across universes are generally similair, as far as he could tell with no experiance. So thats what he did. He wasn't exactly sure what to do so he just cleared his mind and tried to sense around and inside him.

He didn't know how long it was untill he first got results but at one he point he felt something. Inbetween real and illusion, at what felt like the center of his brain, he finally noticed something. It was just a light mist that seemed spread around and slowly flowed back and forth. Free, but confined in a rhombus shaped core of some sort. This was good news, great even, but the only question now was what to do with it.

Sure he could wait untill he was born, and get offical training of some sort, and that was probaly the smart thing to. Only problem was when it came to being the best he would rather take a risk than end up being worse than others.

So at first he tentivaley reached out with his senses and tried to imagine touching. And to his suprise he could feel it as he did. He wasn't really sure how but it gave off a cool, detached sort of sensation. And then he tried using those same senses he didn't know he had, to try and control it. And to his suprise it was easy, he could freely move it around in his core as easily as he remembred being able to move his fingers.

The problem was what to do next. Oh sure, he could move it but that didn't really do anything. But then an idea hit him. Well not really, it was what he had been planning to do had he found an energy source inside him anyways, in between his brief breaks of mediation. You see with most energy sources in novels it starts of as some sort of gas and as people progress it gets thicker and denser, in some novels turning into liquids or eventually solids. Often times one of a protaginists cheats is that his enegry is more pure or condensed, allowing them to effectivley have more, heavier hitting energy.

So, although his core was evenly full of this wispy mist the first thing he tired to do was grab it and push it down towrds the bottom of the rhombus. Which was slightly straining but he had managed to do it suprisingly easy. Thing is, as soon as he let go it all diffused back to being evenly spread. Which was fair, because if it only took that slight strain everybody would be a protaginist.

He wasn't really sure what to do for a while but next time he tried holding as much mist as he could at the bottom for as long as he could. Which, although fine at first soon became incresingly straining. But, as he held it there getting more and more strained he soon realized that more mist was slowly, agonizingly slowly, starting to be produced in his core. When he finally couldn't hold it any longer he let go and soon noticed that there was a very faint, almost imperceptible, increase of density in the mist.

So while he waited there in the womb thats what he would do. Grab some mist hold it down as long as possible, slowly let more mist come in, then realese and repeat. He noticed a couple of things pretty quickly. As he slowly got more mist it became easier to grab more mist to hold down, and hold down longer. Although it wasn't a one to one ratio meaning he would eventually no longer be able to condense his energy. Sad, but lucky, because for him that would mean he would stay at this stage for ever, because it could never be perfect. This also meant that mysterious sense was actually the mist all along, he just never realized.

He also realized he was slowly getting a better memory and was able to think quicker, which most likely meant this was a psychic energy of some sort. And so, as his energy got denser and denser, and himself smarter and smarter he felt the walls around him contract and realised it was time to be born.
